@@learngermangames as a matter of fact, ich habe ein frage? LoLz. I have been attempting to nail down the pronunciation of "I, Ich", and have seen two differing sounds, one sounds like the ish in fish, as pronounced by Colleen, I think in your video. But the sound I learned way back in high school was more breathy with open mouth that end up with tip of tongue places against bottom row of teeth.. I'm so confused. Which is more correct please? Thank you in advance for your input and I hope I have explained the sounds well enough, LoL.

The CH in ICH is pronounced differently than the CH in Nacht. When the CH comes after A, O or U, you add a vibration in the back of your throat, as if you are starting to spit. This vibration is absent in ICH. Make sure you’re avoiding any vibration in the back of your throat when saying ICH. In any case, if other Germans heard you and say you’re correct, maybe your teacher is wrong. "tauchte" without an s. It's the verb "tauchen". "Erschrak" is the verb "erschrecken: to be startled". "Aß" is the simple past of the verb "essen". I'm happy you learned something! 😃 Writing them down in a comment like that will help you remember them actually 😊

@@Bandit-mo9qx Yes, Ach is pronounced differently than Ich. When CH comes after A, O, U, it’s pronounced with a vibration in the back of your throat. It’s the same movement you do when you prepare to spit. I will do a video about it in the future! 😊

@@ЮраН-ь2к Yes, this is why you don’t try to learn the sounds of a new language using the sounds of another language. You need to learn a new movement in your mouth. The good news is that it’s simple. You just have to teach your mouth muscles to stay open while saying ICH. Looking in the mirror while practicing could help 🪞 Keep your mouth open for a few seconds at the end to teach your mouth this unfamiliar sound ☺️

@@learngermangames I don't understand what is "Keep your mouth open". And I don't hear noticeable difference between "ch" in "ich" and the Russian sound "хь" (which in native Russian words appears only before e or i, never at the end of word).

@@ЮраН-ь2к “Keep your mouth open” means that your upper teeth and lower teeth shouldn’t be touching. It’s the opposite of biting. Just relax your jaw and let it drop and keep it dropped. When you listen to German every day attentively, you will start noticing the difference after a few weeks. It’s normal not the notice at first 😁
