Great video, thanks for sharing.
We moved to Erie in 2018 and its funny, but everytime we traveled up Glenwood Park Ave( next to State and Veterans Stadium) I said, boy this is a flood trap. Guess I was right.
I remember the “Erie Blades”! That was a while ago…
Yes Erie Blades games + Pizza Hut
Nice job! Very interesting. I lived all around the former canal in various places in my 20s. Explains a lot, i think.
There was a part of it in Platea still when I was growing up. Not sure if it's still there. It was right behind Lockport Cemetery.
Love this documentary!

Thank-you very much. Would you happen to of done a video of Erie's Gangsters & Book makers? My cousin Francis Dovishaw "Bolo" was a big bookie maker & He got murdered in his home.
Thank-you*
This was very interesting seeing the different sets from different cities. Shout out to Erie, Pa!!!
They just removed some of the Bayfront tracks. The coke plant is no longer here.
Awesome video!
My family has lived here since the 1890s in the area and I love my hometown
I call Erie Pennsylvania home
Weird that amazon is cool with putting their warehouse here.
You always put together great educational videos! Thank you for another one!
Please do Wesleyville!
Thanks for another great video I’d love to know how the flood affected the construction of Academy HS. Maybe it cleared the land and made it easier. Luckily there were no utilities south of 26th along there at the time and I hear the project was delayed because of that
You can see the East Tower of FEED Media Art Center at 7:46 - the building with the floral mural by Betsy Casañas
My Dad retired from the city and every year they had to drive the tube in a jeep to check it, from Glenwood all the way to the treatment plant. The jeep couldn’t turn around, so they backed it all the way back to Glenwood.
That would be scary!
@ there were several times kids got swept down the tube over the years. Last time was probably 15 years ago. Firefighters saved them before they hit 26th street. A few made it all the way to the treatment plant. A guy my Dad worked with jumped in and saved one back in the late ‘60’s early ‘70’s.
Love this channel!
Thank you for watching!
Great work Brian!
Chuck!
@ProjectAlgerine hope your doing great! I'm fine just older and uglier!
Awesome I was there
Pretty sure my brother went to that....but I was the "bratty kid sister" so I didn't stand a chance.😂
So cool! Love that the show is welcomed by WMDI
Do you have any videos about the history of the Reed Mansion/Erie Club?
I don't - sorry. Making one in the future is a possibility.
@@ProjectAlgerine I'm looking forward to seeing it. Thank you
I went there as a kid in the 80s on both attractions with my late Dad and younger sister 😢
I found this very interesting. The westside eastside mentally started quite long ago. I wonder how it varied with how we see it today.
Directly across the street from the old Watsons restaurant was where they were jumping over the parking meters.
My cousin, that grew up in Erie, lived in Orange while they were filming That Thing You Do! She sent me photos. I really wish I knew where those photos are!
This is wild!!!
