My friend who recently I'm going to put it seems to ghost me probably by this time thinks that I'm ghosting him, It's a good idea one last chance to try and salvage this. But he has a very fulfilled life so I am just an added distraction. Also at my age I've lost the ability to make friends and I haven't found out why yet great video though.

Had a great friend/fellow coworker of 35 years who ghosted me. Yes, a "lifetime" friend. Suddenly, his communication kept getting further and further apart, after almost daily before. I began to wonder what was going on, and I started questioning him. He always blamed it on being "so busy lately". At first, I kind of accepted that, but it became chronic and even more time between our get togethers. I even would go out of my way to help him with his home projects, just to keep our friendship alive. I began to notice he would contact me only when he needed to borrow something. That irritated me, and I mentioned it in a sarcastic way one day. That only drove him further away, to almost non-communication. I also ghosted him back, in hopes he would stop by the house one day and I could talk with him about how I was feeling. This just angered him even more, I think. So, fast forward with an occasional "Hey, how are you doing?" text about every 4-6 months these days. He sent me a message the other day and asked if I'd like to go get a beer. I said yes, but again, something came up and he cancelled. He asked to reschedule on a day I wasn't available, so another impasse. I have began thinking about the situation, and after a couple of years now, I'm not even sure I want to see him at all anyhow. I just have too many ill feelings about the way this all fell apart. I've grieved this loss for a long time, and resolved that he simply didn't value my friendship the way I did his. In essence, I would have crossed over an ocean for him, and I'm not sure he would have jumped over a puddle for me. That's a realization that stings in any relationship. You feel suckered, double-crossed, and half a fool. It's especially hard when this person claimed to be your brother in Christ so many times in the past, and is a leader in a huge local church. If I had done something so egregious in our relationship, biblical principles say he is commanded to at least speak to me about the offense. He has not, and I'm not sure I even care any more about mending anything with him. Feedback appreciated!! Thanks.

Friendship I had with a female co-worker who I valued very much slowly come to an end. It's as if she changed when she's around other people and doesn't really associate with me much more oftentimes I find myself talking to her boyfriend to find out everything that's going on just to get some low-key jealousy comments back from him. So in order for me to fix the relationship with her or I have to get involved in their relationship and that's just a thing I won't do. So unfortunately I had to cut my losses and cut ties with them.

I've known my best friend for 11 years and sonce 2020 he keeps ghosting me. The most recent time he ghosted me for 4 months and came back a few weeks ago, and he's gone silent again for a whole week. I'm tired of always being the one at fault. I almost ended my life an hour ago but decided I'm committing to making myself better. I'm tired of always being blamed. If i ask him what i did be says he doesn't want to talk about it. He's emotionally abusing me.

If you have been ghosted, you may be the problem. Are you constantly complaining about people and things? There's only so much negativity one can tolerate. If your friend reduces contact with you, it might be because they're too polite to tell you they're sick of your attitude - learn to take a hint.

    • @ThomSinger

This is true- if ghosted it could be about YOU. But sometimes it is the other person who is just an asshat. So I do say that you should look at patterns. Are you ghosted by many people? It is it one of a very few times in the history of your relationship. Be open to you can be the reason- and adjust how you behave. But I know for a fact that here are people who like to bring drama and cycle through people. So I tried in this video to point that out. There are asshats out there - and if one of the people you know hurts others - …. Just know they will hurt you.

I was ghosted after a death in the family, by someone I thought was a loving, kind person. I treated them like family, to the point of helping them out financially for their pop-up emergency. They said they were going to pay me back, never did, and also conveniently exited the friendship. When I needed help, the money I helped them with was just shy of the amount I needed for an emergency myself. It was like they evaporated. I saw a few months later on social media, they were on a trip somewhere. They could afford a trip but never paid me back. Yep, I learned the hard way. My friendship was of great benefit to them, but it left me broke and broken. Red flag when you become a financial lift for an opportunist. Never again.

Love your advice. I’m 59 and am a late starter (had my first pregnancy/twins at 46). It takes a while but I do it. I am building a RUclips channel and it is a Herculean effort but I don’t want anything else. I don’t tell anyone my plan except one or two people. Age is an issue, for sure, but it’s also an advantage. I’m wiser and more mature. To age is to know yourself and there is nothing better than to truly know yourself.

I had a friend of 20 years. We talked every day, I was there for him during his divorce, when his mom died, when he got fired, just everything. I had a fairly easy life so there was not much of a reason to be there for me. And then things changed. My wife and I separated and I was devastated. While I am usually a very manly man, I was just broken ... he got kind of annoyed at me as I wasn't the fun person to hang out with. One evening, he said let's just hang out and 'get you better'. He gave me advice about what I should do but I wasn't receptive, I was just broken. I cried. And then it happened, after 20 years of friendship, he got up, said "I don't want to deal with this depression bullsh**", shook my hand and left. That was the last time I ever talked to him. I called him the next morning but he didn't pick up, instead he just sent a hurtful email. How I should stop whining and clean up around me. I was just flabbergasted. Of course I pulled through. After I got a divorce, I found a new girlfriend, my job was great, my career skyrocketed, made new friends, etc. The moment he must have found out that I am thriving, again he started reaching out to me. First through old mutual friends and then texting me as if nothing ever happened. I am disgusted. How can someone be so cold, cruel and disgusting? I of course didn't reply then anymore. I honestly don't understand what makes him better than a Nazi or cockroach... how could he have slept at night? Leaving when i was crying after I helped him though his struggles? How can someone live like that? I am so happy that he is out of my life, forever. While he may try to contact me again, there is no chance ever that I could reconcile.

Sadly, people do not change...I learned this myself with a friend. She ghosted me for no apparent reason years ago after hanging out nearly every weekend for two years. I left a voicemail, never got a response. She then texts me out of the blue two and a half years later. I gave her a second chance, thought she would be better, but after two years she then slowly started pulling away. I posted some (admittedly) backhanded memes alluding to her behavior on Facebook and Instagram, she saw them and blocked me on both platforms. Funniest thing is she never did once acknowledge a single thing I posted to either website all this time. When someone shows you who they are the first time, believe them.

I got really sick and almost died back in 2022. Since then I’ve been ghosted by one of my best friends from childhood. Someone I never thought would do this to me. I’m still recovering from the trauma of almost dying, I’m still in constant pain and discomfort, and my recovery is ongoing. My friend who I thought was one of my forever friends, in ghosting me, they’ve broken my heart. I’m utterly destroyed and shocked by this. When you get sick you soon find out who your real friends are. It’s very crushing and I’ve stopped trying to make contact with her now as she has made it very clear she wants nothing to do with me. Mourning the loss of a long friendship like this is soul destroying. I have no idea why she suddenly stopped caring about me. It’s humiliating to be ghosted like this when you’ve been so ill. I’m trying to focus on the brilliant friends who have been there for me and very supportive, but I’m still crushed by the loss of this friendship. I can’t even be bothered to text her to ask why. I’ve just accepted the situation and I’m trying to move on but it’s hard to accept when a former bestie just ghosts you like this.

I was ghosted by a girl friend recently, and firmly believe she was social climbing with our friendship. (She has so many business ventures going on) It hurts so bad to be ghosted without explanation. People certainly have the right to do what's best for them. I tried communicating to clarify what happened. No response. And I have absolutely no idea what happened? I have to make peace with her decision. I'm wondering if this is a pattern for her? We'd been friends for 5 months when the ghosting happened. As you mentioned, some people cycle through friends.

I thought he was on something, but he said that he wasn't. I got scared because at one point during our interactive I thought he might hurt me. He was phyically bigger than me. Its like some switch in his head flipped. I tried reaching out to him a couple of times via text, with a little response but then the last time I sent a message I got no response. I still don't know what happened that day, which for me the not knowing is the worst part of it. I don't believe I did something otherwise I would have applogized for it.

If I were you from what you said I would just count it a lost and move on. Staying in sexual relationships is one thing and bad enough to cloud our judgement on our safety when a spouse acts funny but if this was a friend of the opposite sex than I wouldn't tolerate that kind of disrespect at all to save my life especially if they act like that out of town. That's a sign they could have done you bodily harm or kill you. Thank God you are ok but any grown friend that accuses you is a red flag on fire as nothing good can come out of that from 2 men. I would much rather be ghosted by someone then have them explain why they don't like me. They are ghosting you because they are no longer interested in a friendship with you. Their reason does not matter. It's their business not yours. They are sparing your feelings by not giving you their reason. If someone no longer wants me in their life, I don't need their negative opinion of me. I will just notice that they have stopped calling. Get the point............and move on. It hurts. But their "reason" is sure to hurt you much worse.
