Swordpoint Stories Episode 1 Gripping Beast Plastic Arab Archers
Просмотров 783 месяца назад
Swordpoint Ancient Battles Rules from Gripping Beast. This episode looks at the Gripping Beast Plastic Arab Infantry box set and gives a quick painting guide on how to paint 28mm Plastic Dark Age Arab Archers.
Looks great, superb armies!
What ruleset were you playing? The models look incredible!
The rules are "Swordpoint" (2nd Edition), published by Gripping Beast. They are designed for larger battles rather than skirmish.
Nice to see some painted armies fighting in a game. (I used to wargame different rules about 20 years ago DBM/DBA/HOTT).
excellent battle report. playing on adjacent table, both armies looked great.
Did you mention which rule system was being used? (Might have missed it.)
Swordpoint rules (not milites mundi)
Splendid armies Wayne, impressive chariots and great looking infantry!
Wayne, thanks for this and I can confirm there will be a Chariot Wars event in October 2025, it will again be 1250pts on 8x6ft tables played over 4 games, each morning game will be to the eath (ie no break point just time limit. With teh afternoon game each dayt being to break point.
Lovely miniatures, superb and impressive monks!
Superb minis and great pictures!
Great videos dear Wayne! I will showcase your channel soon!
Thanks Nik.
Wayne, do you find cavalry underpowered in the rules?
It depends on the type of cavalry and the special rules they have. I find Cataphracts are very good and shock cavalry against the right targets. Skirmishing cavalry can be effective, especially if superior shooters. The one category I struggle with are formed "Light Cavalry". They often have a poor Defence value and so are very vulnerable given their point cost.
Nice result for you Wayne. Well done. 👍
yep. All good games. Could have played better and had a couple of moments where the dice could have been kinder but I think that's probably true for all.
Can the Skirmish Cav. shoot in all directions? to their side, front and rear or have I got that wrong?
Vision is a 90 degree arc from the centre front point (page 11). Skirmishing cavalry and chariots can shoot to their rear using the same rules (page 12). The normal arc of fire rules apply to skirmishing units (page 35). Chariot crew can shoot out of any side of the chariot's base (page 36). Elephant crew may shoot out of any side of the elephant base (page 37).
Front and rear, not to the sides. W.
Good work Wayne, great paint job.
Keep at it Wayne- you're doing a great job. If I may make a suggestion? I think it's necessary to turn up the volume on the videos if possible as you're voice is quite quiet.
Very nice Wayne. 👍
great looking army Wayne,
ta.
Hey Wayne, nice tutorial. 👍
Cheers Alec
Excellent review Wayne. Great paint job
Thanks. I will show the spearmen in a later episode. These also make great additions to your Saga factions.
