It really depends on how you choose to play and what you personally find to be the most fun play style to go for. I think that is the beauty of such a flexible combat system like FF16.

FF16 combat with a party is my dream game. I would love to see this combat with the implementation of a Job system where each job unlocks its own abilities and special move sets and combos.

Being able to take control of other party members each with unique moveset would be sick

@@MoreLimitlessStyle There is a (kinda) party system but it's only for Torgul and it's very limited, Idk why there are no follow-ups with other characters like jill or Joshua

I disagree personally and I feel like this way takes a lot more practice and skill than a simple traditional parry button. I think it's one of the more satisfying and rewarding things to pull off in this game, especially when you hit it consistently as it's a stark showcase of your skill level in comparison to a casual.

@MoreLimitlessStyle Yeah, I feel like i can agree this definitely takes more skill out of the two options, but personally, I just hate the way it 'feels' in game, and when you hit the parry it's more because you have the trial and error knowledge of knowing when to attack rather than it being reaction based, like in my first playthrough the timing on when to hit parry felt random every time so I would never parry an enemy I had first encountered even if it looked like I was doing it right, like no matter how good I was at parries if they dropped a new enemy on me I would just have to get hit a thousand times before i got that specific enemies timing down, and that just didn't feel very immersive or rewarding to me, that and the fact there's no animation change for a parry just a slow effect but that's a whole different thing, (sorry for the yap lol just found it interesting)

@@omegafoxtrot2380 For me, the fact that every parry timing is different for every enemy just adds to the fun of learning and becoming good at it. Unlike how parrying works in most games in how it's a base action to be used and learned quickly, in stylish action games like DMC or FF16 it's implementation is meant to be a high level skill to be learned over time. Learning every enemies movesets and getting that timing down while also implementing the combos that you practiced is where the fun of stylish action games come from, at least to me. When someone pulls all of these things off, it shows me they practiced a lot to be able to consistently parry whilst doing very stylish combos. That is where the appeal of these types of games reside for me personally.

@MoreLimitlessStyle Yeah, I can totally understand and appreciate that side of things, i do wanna try the dmc games out, so maybe that'll give me a better appreciation for this style of it.

It has a very high skill ceiling when you actually get into it, learning combos and tech. People insult it simply because it isn't as mechanically in depth as DMC, such as directional inputs. However, as someone who's sunk hundreds of hours into both, FF16 lends itself very well to the genre, and in some cases I would say feels better than games like DMC5 or Bayo.

Every time someone says that I assume they played the game in the most optimal and straight forward way, which is fine if that's what you want to do, but usually if you're getting into a character action game that generally is the most boring way to play.
