Rather basic....and you can't know the doctor with a few questions. If you could, they still have good days and bad ones. I would ask about the dissatisfied patients and what they did to rectify this situation, research if they have any lawsuits, I would ask them but if something goes wrong during my surgery will you stand behind your work? I would ask them what kind of technique is not their favorite and why? I would ask if they ever refused patients desires or goals and can you give me some examples of them and why? I would look for any complaints on their practice from the Better Business Bureau and every place I could find because you don't need to learn how to say thank you for a good job but you better learn what happens if it goes the wrong way. I would asked for examples in their portfolios of jobs that they were especially proud of and why? I will try to find out if the degree of effort is linked to how much the job is going to cost. Asking if they are board-certified it's rather basic and doesn't tell you much. How many patients they have had, how long they've been in business can give you some idea because not many people are anxious to go to a brand new doctor or to one who's been doing it so long they may not have the passion for it anymore and might have stopped a learning as well as the decrease in passion that is if it was ever more than just a way to earn a lot of money. If you like them or you don’t is a matter of personality and bedside manner but not expertise and the application of the expertise to mutually satisfying results. I will take cranky and superior results over friendly and less than desired results.
