      @@Mikes4KProductions I was recently in the Shark Bay region and the flies were as abundant as I've ever experienced. We had a big rain storm as we headed out to Steep Point which kept them away for the three days we camped at Shelter Bay. By the time we headed over to Francois Peron NP they were back and the fly nets became permanent fashion accessories.

      About the same. Southern you could swim North is clay bottom no sand .

    Another great location. Yep, I've driven past the Gladstone turnoff many times and wondered whether it was worth going into. It's on my list now. Is there a time limit to stays? Would you recommend the south end or the north end? I recently went to the Shark Bay region and the flies at Francois Peron NP and Kalbarri on the way up were very thick. Fly nets recommended! Thanks again - especially for your informative and relaxed production. Once again, no unnecessary voice over and endless dashcam commentary. It's appreciated and sets you apart.

      @@Mikes4KProductions that's a shame, seems to be bad everywhere up north this year from various YT vids. We stopped into Gladstone 3 times last year between May - August and flies were almost non existent.

    Incredible video. Thank you for sharing. I only discovered that Mount Augustus is the largest rock in Australia and not Uluru. The funny/sad part of this is that I've been here for almost 40 years and I'm only learning about this now. 🤦

    Great reminder of a favourite spot. I'll have to get back there soon. As always, I really appreciate you letting your footage do the talking. It looks really soft at this time of the year although the river crossing doesn't seem quite as daunting as the last time I was there. Tyre pressure is definitely the key to a classic day out. In my case, a mate with a winch helps too! Great video thanks. 👍

      No I replaced the tyre. Too close to the wall. I weighed up how it would go if I let it down when on a beach. Decided caution was the best option

    Bit of Murphy's Law there I reckon. Who's ever had a "convenient" tyre swap? I'm hoping you can have your expensive Falken tyre repaired - perhaps a tube or a sleeve? There's certainly a lot more options around these days. Safe travels. I'm looking forward to following your adventures.

    What a magnificent place WA is so lucky to have Mt Augustus beautiful ++ Ive traveled a lot in and around our country unfortunatly this bucket list item has not been ticked and sadly i will only enjoy it on dicumentries now as i no longer travel. Always go with respect and leave the country as you find it a reward for the wonder you have been luvky to see.

    Great memories thank you. I used to work for Sons of Gwalia and visited the towns of Gwalia and Leonora many times. The company contributed to the restoration and maintenance of Hoover House - and probably the town of Gwalia although the mining activity there was long gone during my time. You have an eye for a photo Mike. I particularly like the Gwalia pub photos. They have a real sense of history about them.

    Thanks for the video, can I ask how long it takes roughly from the Leaning Marri Campsite (Entrance) to Yearabup Beach. Also, I'm guessing the trail is a bit easier in the winter seasons and the warren river cross isn't possible?

      I’d be guessing but probably about three quarters of an hour ( let tyres down) - slow going depends on how bad the track is. Once the river is flowing you are unable to cross it. If you want to do Callcup Hill you will need to come in from other direction. Summer the track softens up but winter should be good this time of year. Cheers Mike4k
