1st year heavy duty diesel tech toolbox tour

1st year heavy duty truck mechanic toolbox tour just to show people what a 1st year mechanic uses day to day
best thing to do with DEF lines is cut them off and delete them LOL
Nice box buddy setup is solid
How much would this tool kit with tools cost, I have shortage in money so, just wanna know the genuine price for starting.
Nice set up man! Love that blue color on the box👍 With all those Mac warranty items... Isn't there another way to warranty? online? Over the phone? Seems like a shame to spend that money... Also, why not just buy the Irwin Hansen Taps? I have the 114 pc set ind its great. SO hasn't had taps for a hot minute now. Lastly wtf are nutcracker pliers? Lol
Unknown on the online warranty I’d hope so just haven’t looked into it, and same thing just want taps with warranty’s, and they were a promo for something I bought from SO and there for cracking like walnuts
How do the Icon crows feet hold up?
Never had an issue nice having cheaper ones as I’ve cut a few to make them thinner
What is the best method to paint your wrenches? I have seen a few people with red or yellow and it looks really nice but no one explained what they used to color in the #'s
Just red paint pen put it on heavy and wipe of while still partially wet takes a few to figure it out
Just a lil confused why would you keep your extra key in your box ? 😂… if you lose you main key how are you gonna get in the box to get the spare key ?
I have since moved it 😂
How would you compare the SO vs MAC pry bars??
I’m a Snapon guy but there pretty much the same I like the handles a little better on the Mac’s to be completely honest would buy more Mac if I still had a dealer
Around 18:20 … I had no idea they made a tool for anchor pin sleeves for drums… I just took a big bolt and washer, a nut and crush washer in both sides of the washer and that was my boot leg seal driver
Yea I’m always about saving money and making your own tools but the right tool for the right job is definitely a plus
@@DieselDaddy5.9 funny part is o found a Liesle part number and actually got it from the snap on truck I know I could have it half the price through Amazon but he had it there and now soooo…. 🤷♂️
So how much do you have invested by now? 40k?
Probably more to be completely honest especially now
Very nice thanks for sharing 👍
I love your dirty fingers 😍 first toolbox with I sow in the middle of a hardworkin day 👍🏿
Wow what a wonderful setup. Great video, keep up the great videos.
Are those new(ish) Snap On pry bar handles like a hard handle?
The full red ones yes they are hard plastic the red and black ones are Mac tools and the black is rubber the red parts are hard plastic
I have this box on order and I was curious if my snap on screwdriver cases would fit in that really short drawer. Glad to see they fit in yours. Nice box and collection. I went Supersonic blue too.
the snap-on plastic screw driver cases do fit in the shallow drawers! the pry bar cases as well.
@@GorillaFingaz I don't believe the pry bars do not even my mac prybars would fit in there i would love to swap plyers and prybars but they wont fit for me :(
@@GorillaFingazI know the snap on ratchet sets that come in that foam fit in the speed drawer on my 68. So I can only imagine the screw drivers do too
Man loving the full length draws on your 68 epiq! I noticed you had a rechargeable Coastal flashlight, how do you compare that Coastal to the Streamlight Strion you have? I’m currently running a Coastal flashlight but I keep thinking about getting the Strion HL!
I never touch my coast EVER anymore that striton stays in my back pocket all day the coast sits in my bottom drawer as a backup but I would highly recommend the one I have wicked bright and a lot more ergonomic for me charging and shape wise
Cool. I actually just used my scissor jack in addition to a main jack to help orient engine when replacing engine mounts. Also, I can drive the the tab on the scissor jack with a 22mm socket.
Nobody has a MAC dealer anymore.
If that ain’t the truth I don’t know what is
That is so the Truth, MAC tools has left a very sour taste in my mouth, my MAC dealer passed away about 4 years ago, I called MAC tools office and told them situation and are we getting a new dealer? They said they don't know and basically they don't care is the impression I got and took it, I live in Montgomery County Pennsylvania I'm sticking with Snap-on they worth every penny to me, great video and 68" Epic box can't beat it, I own one 🔧🔧🔧🔧🔧
Our shop has a Mac dealer 🤔
Have you used the dewalt grease gun and how does it compare to the Milwaukee? We have 3 dewalt grease guns I’ve never used the Milwaukee
Never used a dealt but the Milwaukee ones put out some serious pressure
Being an international mechanic how do you find time to do a video? I bet you are backed up and overworked AF.
Hahaha lmao seriously but here we work on anything and everything but seems like a lot of intertrashinals 😂
I love you
Oh my
Loc Tite 518 is awesome. I don't know why manufacturers insist on using RTV. Never had any issues with the 518.
I hate seeing it on oil pans and all your stringers in your pickup tubes makes me cringe 😭😭
New to your channel is just subscribed. Great pro tip on the red and green combination feeler gauges. 👊🏻
1 7/16 for paccar filters? Definitely not, pretty sure it’s 1 1/4.
Could be I think that works anyway 😂 but don’t spin to many filter anymore
Just looked it up you would be correct on that it is 1 1/4
Nice set up but a lot of the time you dont have the camera pointed at what your talking about and that drovw me nuts but thats just me sweet color of the box i just got a master series in the storm grey i know i am so original lol my next box will be in that cranberry red color i feel like the epic box colors look different from the other boxes but its prob just a nicer looking box so i think it looks different and how do you like the full length drawer set up
Yea it was a long day and was by myself still getting the hang of filming. The full link drawers aren’t bad, especially in a heavy duty application five as you can see in my hammer drawer I have electrical as well not always the easiest to open the full drawer especially as I am in a tight shop worth. They are worth taking a look at and considering, but if I were to do it again, I would buy the normal epic with the 3 full length drawers. Instead of all of them. And thank you for the feedback is always appreciated!!!
6:13 lots of smoking on the job?
Lady foot bar.
Nice setup 👍
My life is complete tekamoHD commented on my video love your guys channel cam and Carson are the best to watch
@@DieselDaddy5.9 sweet man glad to hear you watch our channel! We're now subscribed to yours, any new videos coming out soon?
@@TekamoHD yes just put out a new toolbox tour up as I am in a new shop and have upgraded tooling and storage for the need of the new job!! And thinking about starting to film some of the jobs coming up
SNAPON TOOL BOX $$$$$$ WHAT FOR
That new snap on flex head looks quite sweet
There pretty nice after using for a while I found that there the opposite problem from the old style they like to unlock themselves during use
"shitty joints" is actually a fitting name lol
Worst things out there lol
Great start as a 1 year tech.
Thanks, I'm just a homeowner with a couple of tool boxes, you would think, an easy job to organize one but, nothing like getting tips from someone who actually earns a living out of one, to see some great ideas.
always happy to show some insight out there from what I've found works for me let me know if you have any questions on the setup
I’m a 1st year mechanic as well , I was mixed about buying a snap on tool chest but I have no regrets . All my drawers are filled with what I need and plenty of space to grow , look forward to maxing out my box and getting a nice roll cart next lol . Clean setup
which series of box do you have epiq masters classic etc?
and i was the same way thought there was no reason for spending that much for something to hold my tools but after using it daily i love it
@@DieselDaddy5.9 I have a 55in Classic , Storm Grey with Cranberry Red handles . Got it off my dealer for about 5k After discounts and rebates lol which is what sold me the most on it
Nice love that color way I got mine as a repo from my dealer for right around $3000 few dings here and there but nothing too noticeable thinking about ordering the red trim to replace the green as all of my stuff is red and black
@@DieselDaddy5.9 hell yeah good deal , I’m big on red and black too lol but I love the blue and grey as well
Great video. Word of advice swap the junk drawer for the plier drawer.
Snap off tools
Someone seems rather jealous
@@gregshearer423 always one in the crowd
@@DieselDaddy5.9 yup
Nah I just don't pay stupid amounts of money for tools, old stuff is great but Jesus christ 10k for a toolbox sometimes if you buy snap on hell no.
@@bread-gz3rl am more than willing to bet he never payed 10k for that box and he’s had a mixture of tools your going on like he’s a snap on fan boy
I own the same stream light head lamp as you do. My only thing against those is the battery I found often dies quick especially I forget to turn it off as I walk around the shop
yea true i also dropped mine off my toolbox and the hinge broke on it so I got to go buy a new one not sure how there warranty is
@@DieselDaddy5.9 i had bought mine from matco, no warranty
Advice, don’t buy so much too truck stuff. Lots of other better and more reasonable priced tools out there
some of my snap on stuff I don't buy off the truck for everything Facebook market place and tool sales are a great way to find used or even new high quality tools for a pretty good price
Advice. Buy tools that make your life easier and you enjoy using considering you’re gonna be doing it for the next 30-40 years. Buy snap on if you want. I find it makes the job more enjoyable using high quality tools. Also when you do a job with a specialty tool instead of doing some hill billy shit makes the customer appreciate the process more and be willing to pay. Otherwise they get the feeling of I could have jammed a screw driver in the drain, or wasted 45 min pouring coolant from 5 gal pails.
Those flexible impact sockets are called swivel sockets. The chromed one is a universal (think driveline) socket.
Yea I never touch em I just use the wobbble extensions or impact universal’s
nice box, looks sharp. Try out a milwaukee 1/2in high torque sometime.
Been looking at getting one just haven’t bit the bullet on one yet
@@DieselDaddy5.9 Check out the newer DeWalt DCF900, would work with your MAC batteries, got one myself and have loved using it so far
@@ZynexPlays just ended up trading in my mac stuff to my mac dealer so now i run only snap on and Milwaukee for cordless tools, but how is it you like the dewalt stuff?
@@DieselDaddy5.9 I use to buy all Milwaukee stuff for automotive stuff, but I'm 19 in college and do landscaping on the side, bought a few of their tools like the pole saw and weedwhacker, never rly liked dewalt prior to that but like both now they each have their place
@@ZynexPlays I run Milwaukee for automotive use and DeWalt for carpentry/woodworking etc. I enjoy it this way, don't want to ruin the fastest color yellow on the DeWalt stuff.
Im liking that Snap On cordless impact wrench.
there so worth it especially engine work
Could they break lug Nutz?
@@richardburns9772 little much for them
Get the 3/8 and 1/2 from snap on. Big stuff, Milwaukee 3/4, I use all 3 often and haven’t had any issues.
