      I assume you meant the auto button. It does take a while to get used to but you can hold it down while you need to use it. There are a lot of situations that you need to press 2 buttons at the same time regardless who and which control scheme you play. Zangief's lariat/Ed's command dash/Throw/Parry (2 button on classic)/Any OD moves just to name a few, so you will have to get used to pressing multiple buttons.

    I've recently picked up up the game. I've played a lot of 4 and understand a lot of the combos and how the game works but I don't know if I wanna stick to classic or go over to modern not only is it faster with specials and being able to input them manually rules but sometimes I find neutral sad or sometimes impossible compared to the classic crew. What I'm tryna say is the difference rough and was wondering how u over came that or if u swap controls time to time

    • @n0dding
      @n0dding 3 дня назад

      @@jclcc9996666666 I only play on modern. Depending on the character you are playing, it can be rough due to losing buttons, but I think it's a fair trade-off for having modern shortcuts for DP (if your character has one) and Supers. Classic will also argue it's impossible to jump on modern because of that. For the characters I play and let's use Marisa as an example, losing quadriga and j.HK definitely hurt, but she has 2MP and gladius to play neutral with. On top of that, her strongest combo starter (5MP) is available through auto+M, and all her common space traps and safejumps are available as well. Making use of all those tools allow her to still be super effective in every aspect of the game. I'd say forget about what's available in classic and focus on what tools you have available. Using what you have and making the full use of them will be enough to take you to master on any character!

    wow i tried playing modenisa a few months ago but there was no video like this, this is really good. which character in your opinion (as i see you have a lot of modern character vids uploaded) did you feel was the strongest for ranked? marissa or bison would be my guess but i only ever tried marissa and cammy

    • @n0dding
      @n0dding 4 дня назад

      I think whoever fits your playstyle would be best for YOU to climb rank with. For me personally, I think Ed & Bison are the best characters right now. If I were to play a shoto seriously, it would probably be Ryu, but I think Akuma/Ken are stronger characters. I don't think Marisa is all that strong compare to other characters, but I've been playing her since launch and gladius lets you get away with a lot of things, so I want to get master with her before playing other characters. All the characters are fairly balanced with strengths and weaknesses, so I think it's just a matter of how much time and dedication you are willing to put into the character to climb rank with.

    Is Modern Akuma any good?

    • @n0dding
      @n0dding 28 дней назад

      These are my 2cents about modern Akuma - Akuma's fireballs, especially air fireball, are very good, but if you want to take him to a high level, I think you would need to learn motion input to unlock more of his kit instead of only relying on his 1 button stuff. His basic setups require you to learn light tatsu > heavy sweep, so you would need to learn how to do quartercircle back (214) in order to be effective. I think Akuma, or shotos in general imo, isn't really for the lazy players like me who heavily rely on the modern buttons, they can be played with a very simple gameplan with just fireballs and DPs, but to play at a high level, you will need to learn a bunch of motion input stuff for combos and different setup routes. His throw into command throw as meaty setup is also very strong in the corner.

      @@n0dding i think luke should have been an honorable mention he was clearly made with classic in mind with all his auto combos being levels 1-3 and he kind of breaks the mold of traditional shotos ig the tools he looses in modern are enough to make it not worth it though.

    • @n0dding
      @n0dding Месяц назад

      @@Sharky_0456 I think Luke is just an ok modern character. Yes, modern Luke was definitely designed to be fairly compatible with modern, but for completely new players who are just starting SF6, I think he is a poor choice. His auto combos are expensive and the damage conversions are not all that great. New players will constantly be burnt out and then the auto combos would be unusable since in Season 1 they don't convert into a different string to not use drive gauge unlike in Season 2. You can argue modern Zangief is also bad in the auto combo department, and he doesn't have all the tools Luke has, but 1 button SPD makes up for all of that imo.

      Appreciate the love! There are many different LV2 routes for Ed and some require position awareness of where you are on the stage. If you go back to watch EVO VODs for momochi's replays, you can see him using ifferent routes based on the game situations and adjusted accordingly. If you don't plan to be a tournament player, I don't think it's necessary to learn all those techs though, but I would still recommend learning the desync/dream combo route if you want to put in the work for him. It's too resource efficient to not go for that route when the situation allows for it.

      @n0dding Месяц назад

      @@ModernFightingGames I do play with a leverless controller, but I don't have a camera so I can't record footage of my hands for you. I think the most difficult part starting out is getting used to where the buttons are and assign them to a comfortable spot that you can press easily. My button layout on the left side for movement is default. The top row going from left to right: L/ M/ H/ Auto. The bottom row going from left to right: DI/ SP+H (macro for Super)/ SP/ Parry. For Ed specifically, I'd suggest macroing killrush(L+H or M+H) as well if you have more than 8 buttons on your leverless, or replace the super macro for killrush. Based on my button layout, for something simple like Auto+M>Auto+M>4SP my fingers would be hitting right pinky+right middle finger twice for Auto+M twice then use my left ring finger to press and hold 4 and right index will slide from H down to SP to get 4SP. If you are having trouble with DP motion (623), I personally press 626 to satisfy the input condition, and this is the only that works for me timing wise and inputting it correctly. There are a lot of different DP inputs and shortcuts you can do with leverless, so you need to find one that works for you. If there is a specific combo route you are having trouble with, comment with the string sequence and I can let you know how I would perform it!

      Modern Ken is definitely good and on the easier side to pick up, but he requires more learning than someone who I'd say is easy like the 4 I mentioned in the video, in my opinion at least. Someone in the comment mentioned you can spam the medium auto combo/fireball/DP and get pretty far, so depending on what your goals are, you might not need to dig deeper into the character.

    Tbh, i'm pretty surprise to not see ken. Ken lost not so much move have a free 2500 dmg + side switch on Medium auto combo gameplan are pretty easy at low elo Ex hado DR HP leading to full medium auto combo.

      Ken is definitely a great character if you invest some time to learn more about him and his routes, but that's pretty much the same issues I have with playing any of the shotos straight out of the box. Of course, that's just how I view and evaluate what's good for a modern character to start the game with and I can be wrong. The things that knocked ken down for me are tatsu, and all the auto combos. tatsu locked behind run for SP button is pretty bad, so you are forced to manually input 214 to get it during a combo, which is pretty important for ken's corner carry from midscreen. L auto combo is useless once people learn to jab after first hit of jinrai, and people love to mash jabs especially in lower elo from my experience. M auto combo being meterless is great, but the side switch is like a double edged sword. if you already have them in the corner, why would you want to side switch right? H auto combo damage isn't all that great without spending LV3 and the spacing and oki isn't great either even after spending 1 bar to drive rush (and you are negative if you run/2x dash to close the gap) despite being +31 after OD jinrai.

      @@n0dding not really true u can modern during run for fire tatsu. i got master with ken modern and other char and i really feel ken more consistent at all , fire ball is a great tool dragon to u can win just by spaming medium auto combo if you dont want side switch just do the dp during the run motion or not you never lost the oki. For heavy auto i agree i never use it but who need to use it when medium exist meter less and lets you have avec to literaly all ken tool corner carry, dmg, side switch. and you can put the lvl 3 2 1 with medium auto combo. tbh, ken modern is more brain dead and easy to play than all char you proposed i thinks at low elo due to EX hado dr Hp "frame trap" medium auto if blocked just modern jinrai is enough

      @@leesangpayab29 i stated tatsu modern shortcut is locked behind run, which you don't run before every combo route that uses tatsu, so new players are either forced to learn motion input or have to abandon routes that ask for tatsu, and that is a minus in my eyes. i made this video mainly for people like me who have zero fighting game experience and got attracted to SF6 because of modern control bypass the learning curve of motion input, so the need to learn motion input is a minus in my opinion. all the pros/content creators who did road to masters with all characters (before any DLC characters came out) said manon is the easiest to play neutral and get to master with, and people always say shoto is the easiest to start the game with, but i personally find manon and shotos hard to play even after playing the game for a while, so to each of our own for our paths to master (or whatever rank people want to achieve). congrats on your achievement with having multiple characters in master though!

      @@n0dding Run is the part of the auto combo M so u can just press modern input during run so with medium combo you dont have to learn anything other than timing and press "special" -> or down. ether not so much people have tryed the modern version for learning, shuto stated ken was the strongest modern mid S1. and with the information we have today the statement before dlc is pretty wrong, we dont play really "neutral" before diams 3, before that its more a jump fiesta of jump so having a dragon is insane. and DI is spammed + DR so having a "invunerable reversal" is god to. anyway i can understand the statment of you have hard time with a type of char. But i would really recommand new player who want play modern to use ken if they want a shoto or a good perf early. Gl for your next content

    How is Akuma in modern controls? :D

    • @n0dding
      @n0dding 2 месяца назад
