Why C++ Expertise will Endure Beyond 2025

Why C Expertise Will Endure Beyond 2025 In recent years, there has been a growing push from key cybersecurity organizations, including the FBI, CISA, and even the NSA, urging developers to transition away from using C and C in favor of memory-safe languages like Rust, Go, or Java. Their reasoning is clear: memory management vulnerabilities in C have historically been a major source of software ...

    I've just started to get into programming, this is something I needed to hear. C++ has always been interesting, especially for audio. Then the whole memory issue scared me away.

      Thank you for engaging with the video! I’m glad it resonated with you. C++ does come with its challenges, particularly when it comes to memory management and safety concerns. However, it’s precisely this depth that makes C++ such a powerful and enduring language-especially in performance-critical domains like audio programming, where control over hardware can make all the difference. Modern iterations of C++ (C++11 and beyond) have introduced features like smart pointers and an expanded standard library to help navigate these challenges and build robust solutions more efficiently. Audio programming is one of those fields where learning C++ isn’t just a skill-it’s a way to connect deeply with how software interacts with the physical world, whether it’s through sound waves or hardware drivers. Don’t let the steep learning curve dissuade you; think of it as an investment in a skill set that will remain relevant across decades. Mastering C++ isn’t just about writing code-it’s about understanding how systems work at their core, which is invaluable in any technical pursuit.

    I watched all seasons of Scandal with the central character of Oliva Pope. You knows, several events in the 2024 Election cycle reminds me of that level of intrigue. Joe Biden depicted in social media short videos at a diner with voters accepting a voter's MAGA hat. You also have Jill Biden dressed in red on election day-a symbol that makes one pause because Democrats always wear blue right? Going back to when Hillary Clinton first stirred the "birther" narrative about Obama, we see the sparks that helped fuel Trump’s rise, eventually leading to his victories over Clinton and later Harris. Now, with some urging Biden to step aside for 2024, does it awaken a sense of betrayal within the Democratic base? Only those closest to Biden hold that answer, yet the echoes of old conflicts-Clinton vs. Obama, Trump’s shift from Democrat to Republican prominence-remind us how inaction and perceived indifference can breed intense opposition, an idea directly from Sun Tzu’s Art of War.

    Let us consider a broader, almost spiritual context. From 2020 onward, spiritualist forecasts warned of looming upheavals: solar flares grounding planes, shutdowns, societal breakdown. But as these events fell short of their warnings, they left behind a trail of disillusionment. Many who invested time and money in courses, seminars, and products saw little but unfulfilled promises. This phenomenon reflects not just the pitfalls of speculative foresight but a lesson about anchoring our futures to temporary figures or ideologies that may not hold steady over time.

    Coconut is not a fruit A fruit has seeds this is a nut like Brazilian nuts

    • @michaelgautier
      @michaelgautier Месяц назад

      @tonioliver4404 I asked ChatGPT what is a coconut? You would be surprised at the answer. I was. I called coconut a fruit based on its qualities. It grows like many fruits and the liquid it produces is similar to the qualities of fruit juice. However, ChatGPT had a more extensive explanation. I posted the explanation as a reply to your statement.

    • @michaelgautier
      @michaelgautier Месяц назад

      @tonioliver4404 ChatGPT has described coconut as a fruit. I already considered coconut a fruit and this does not mean ChatGPT is the final definition on what is and is not a fruit but considering how it gathers all known information, I found the following useful information. A coconut is a versatile and unique fruit, technically classified as a drupe, which is a type of fruit with a hard outer shell and a seed inside. Despite being called a "nut" in its name, the coconut is not a true botanical nut. Here’s a breakdown of its various aspects: Botanical Definition Drupe: A coconut is a fibrous one-seeded drupe. This type of fruit has three layers: Exocarp: The outermost, smooth layer (which is usually removed before coconuts are sold). Mesocarp: The fibrous husk, called "coir." Endocarp: The hard, woody shell that houses the seed (the part most people recognize as the "coconut"). Inside the shell, there is the edible part, which consists of: Coconut meat (copra): The white, fleshy part inside the coconut. Coconut water: The liquid inside the cavity of a young, green coconut. Development Stages of a Coconut Green coconut: Young and immature coconuts are filled primarily with coconut water, which is refreshing and rich in electrolytes. The flesh at this stage is soft and jelly-like. Mature coconut: As the coconut matures, the water decreases, and the flesh thickens and hardens into what we recognize as coconut meat. Mature coconuts are commonly used to produce coconut oil, milk, and flakes. Nutritional Value Coconut water: Rich in potassium, sodium, and electrolytes, making it an excellent natural hydrator. Coconut meat: High in fats, primarily saturated fats (such as lauric acid), and provides fiber, vitamins (like B vitamins), and minerals (e.g., manganese and copper). Coconut oil: Extracted from the meat, it is widely used in cooking, skincare, and even as a hair treatment. It's high in medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which some studies suggest may offer health benefits like improved energy expenditure and cognitive function. Ecological and Economic Importance Ecological role: Coconut palms thrive in tropical and subtropical climates, typically near coastlines. They provide habitat for various wildlife and prevent soil erosion in coastal areas. Economic value: Coconuts are a major crop in many tropical countries, with uses ranging from food to textiles (coconut fiber, or coir, is used for making ropes and mats). Products derived from coconuts, like coconut oil, milk, water, and desiccated coconut, are staples in global trade. Cultural significance: In many cultures, coconuts are symbols of life and sustenance. They play a role in various religious and cultural ceremonies, particularly in Southeast Asia, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Africa. Uses of Coconut Culinary: Coconut water: A natural, low-calorie drink. Coconut milk and cream: Made by blending the meat with water, used in many Asian and Caribbean dishes for its rich flavor. Coconut oil: Used in cooking, particularly in high-heat methods like frying. Desiccated coconut: Dried and grated coconut flesh, used in baking and confections. Coconut sugar: A natural sweetener made from the sap of the coconut palm. Non-food uses: Coir: The fibrous husk of the coconut is used for making ropes, doormats, brushes, and mattresses. Coconut shells: Used as bowls, utensils, or in craft and jewelry making. Coconut oil: Extensively used in skincare, hair care, and as a carrier oil in cosmetics and massage oils. Sustainability Coconuts are considered sustainable crops because: Every part of the coconut is used. There is minimal waste, making it environmentally friendly. Coconut palms are resilient and can grow in poor soils where few other crops can thrive. Diverse applications across industries (food, beauty, household goods) contribute to their economic sustainability. Is Coconut a Nut? In culinary terms, coconuts are sometimes referred to as nuts due to their hard shell and common use in food preparations. However, scientifically, coconuts are not true nuts. True nuts, like acorns or chestnuts, do not open naturally to release their seeds, whereas coconuts fall under the "drupe" category. Health Benefits Coconut oil: Contains medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which are linked to potential health benefits, such as improved metabolism and brain function. Antioxidants: Coconuts contain polyphenols that may help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress. Hydration: Coconut water is a natural source of hydration due to its high electrolyte content. Conclusion Coconuts are one of the most versatile and economically important fruits globally, with a rich nutritional profile and extensive uses across multiple industries. Whether for its hydrating water, nutrient-dense meat, or sustainable fibers, the coconut plays a vital role in human culture, diet, and environmental stewardship.

    Can you explain to me why buddhism teaches that sleeping on your left side is the best for your organs and drainage? It cant be both and i think maybe traditional chinese medicne might be older and more wise than wayne chandler. im not trying to argue but wow its funny how nobody can ever agree on anything on youtube. I have serious heart disease and have heard both but since i was born i have only been able to sleep on my stomach no matter how hard i try other positions.

    • @michaelgautier
      @michaelgautier Месяц назад

      @ocdfreak777 I explored this myself. I began with an intuitive search within and realized that I cannot stick to sleeping on one side or the other because that is just not natural. However, I've tried it with some effort and noticed that I do sleep more deeply on either the right or left versus straight on my back. Next, I consulted ChatGPT because it is like search on steroids. Using ChatGPT, it has read all the articles out there can summarize it thoroughly. What follows is my conversation. ******************** What do you know about sleeping on your right side versus your left side? ******************** Sleeping on your right side versus your left side can have different effects on your body, particularly due to the positioning of internal organs and blood flow. Here’s a breakdown of the key considerations: Sleeping on the Left Side: Heart Health: Sleeping on the left side is often recommended for those with heart issues because it can potentially improve circulation and ease pressure on the heart. This position encourages blood flow, as the heart pumps to the left side of the body. Digestion and GERD: The left side is often suggested for people with acid reflux or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). This position allows gravity to help keep stomach acid from flowing back into the esophagus. The structure of the stomach and esophagus favors left-side sleeping, reducing symptoms of heartburn. Lymphatic Drainage: The left side of the body is where most of the lymphatic system drains, so sleeping on this side may help the body filter toxins and waste more effectively. Pregnancy: Pregnant women are often advised to sleep on their left side as it improves circulation to the fetus and reduces pressure on the liver and other organs, which may also aid in kidney function. Sleeping on the Right Side: Heart Health Considerations: Some evidence suggests that sleeping on the right side may actually reduce pressure on the heart, which can be beneficial for certain heart conditions. However, others argue that this can restrict blood flow and increase heart rate variability, making it less ideal for those with heart issues. Digestion: Right-side sleeping may not be as beneficial for digestion compared to the left. Since the stomach is positioned on the left, sleeping on the right could potentially increase the risk of acid reflux, as gravity isn’t helping to keep acid in the stomach. Snoring and Sleep Apnea: Some studies suggest that people who suffer from sleep apnea or snoring may find it more comfortable to sleep on their right side. This position may help keep the airway open, although this varies between individuals. Comfort and Preference: Some people find sleeping on their right side more comfortable, especially if they have back or shoulder pain. It's often down to personal preference, but some may rotate between sides during sleep. Potential Issues with Both Sides: Shoulder Pain: Consistently sleeping on one side can cause shoulder pain, especially if there is insufficient support from pillows or if a mattress doesn’t accommodate the sleeping position. Facial Wrinkles: Sleeping on one side can cause facial compression, potentially leading to wrinkles over time due to the pressure on the skin. Conclusion: Left-side sleeping: Generally considered more beneficial for heart health, digestion, and lymphatic function. Right-side sleeping: May be more comfortable for some and helpful for certain respiratory issues, though it may worsen acid reflux for others. Ultimately, individual health conditions and comfort play significant roles in determining the best sleeping position. It may also be helpful to switch between sides to balance out any strain on one side of the body.

      @ocdfreak777 I continue the conversation and found out the following. Did ancient and spiritual traditions know anything about this? Yes, ancient and spiritual traditions have long recognized the importance of body posture, including sleeping positions, and have offered guidance on which side to sleep on for various health and spiritual reasons. Across different cultures, there has been knowledge about the effects of sleeping positions, often integrated with holistic and spiritual wisdom. 1. Ayurveda (India): Ayurveda, one of the oldest systems of holistic health originating in India, emphasizes the benefits of sleeping on the left side. According to Ayurvedic teachings: Left-side sleeping is recommended because it aligns with the natural functions of the body. For instance, the stomach and pancreas are on the left side, so this position is believed to support digestion and the efficient processing of food. Vata, Pitta, and Kapha doshas (the body's fundamental energies) are thought to benefit from left-side sleeping due to its ability to aid in detoxification and balance the body’s internal energies. Ayurveda teaches that the left side is associated with calming and cooling energies, while the right side is more activating. 2. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM): In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the body’s meridian system, which carries qi (vital energy), is considered during sleep. TCM suggests: Left-side sleeping is often seen as better for circulation and digestion because it helps the body balance yin and yang energies. Similar to Ayurveda, the left side aligns with the organs responsible for detoxifying the body. TCM teachings also suggest that left-side sleeping aids the spleen and liver in their work of detoxification and processing blood. 3. Islamic Teachings: In Islamic tradition, sleeping positions have spiritual significance. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is reported to have advised his followers to sleep on their right side: Right-side sleeping is considered a sunnah (recommended practice) because it symbolizes humility and is believed to improve spiritual health by aligning the body in a state of readiness for prayer or worship. It is also thought to make breathing easier and prevent excess pressure on the heart. Furthermore, Islamic teachings discourage sleeping on the stomach, considering it an undesirable posture, not only for health reasons but also for spiritual ones. 4. Yoga and Pranayama: In yogic traditions, the left side of the body is associated with the Ida Nadi, which represents the moon, cooling, and calming energies. The right side is associated with the Pingala Nadi, which is linked to the sun, heat, and stimulating energies. During sleep: Left-side sleeping is believed to activate the calming Ida Nadi, fostering a more restful and regenerative sleep. Many yoga practitioners are advised to lie on their left side before bed to facilitate a calmer state of mind and balance the body's energies for better physical and mental health. 5. Ancient Egyptian Practices: Ancient Egyptians had specific sleeping practices and believed that sleeping positions could influence spiritual well-being. Pharaohs and priests would often lie in a specific orientation (typically head towards the north, aligning with the earth's magnetic field) but did not specify left or right side preference as clearly as other traditions. The belief was that aligning oneself with cosmic and earth energies during rest would promote spiritual vitality and strength. 6. Hippocrates and Greek Medicine: Hippocrates, the ancient Greek physician, also commented on sleeping positions and digestion. He believed that: Sleeping on the left side helped promote proper digestion, while turning to the right side after some time allowed the stomach to empty more effectively. This suggests an early understanding of how body position could influence bodily functions. 7. Spiritual Energetics: In broader spiritual and esoteric traditions, the left side of the body is often associated with receptivity and feminine energy, while the right side is linked to action and masculine energy. Sleeping on the left side can be seen as opening oneself to receiving spiritual guidance and healing, while sleeping on the right is linked to more active, outward-focused energy. Common Themes: Left-side sleeping appears to be more commonly associated with holistic health, detoxification, and calming energy in many traditions, particularly for improving digestion and aligning with the body’s natural functions. Right-side sleeping holds spiritual significance in Islamic tradition and may be associated with fostering humility and preparing the body for a state of spiritual readiness. Conclusion: Many ancient and spiritual traditions recognized the effects of sleeping positions on health and spiritual well-being, often emphasizing the benefits of left-side sleeping for physical functions like digestion and detoxification, while right-side sleeping carried more spiritual or symbolic meanings in certain cultures like Islam. These practices highlight a deep awareness of the connection between body posture, energy flow, and overall wellness.

      @ocdfreak777 I concluded the conversation as follows. What do you think informed these societies insights? Was it merely the accumulated centuries of coincidental observations or was it a systematic process or a mix? It is likely a mix of accumulated observations, systematic processes, and even some intuitive or spiritual understandings that informed the insights of these ancient societies regarding sleeping positions. Here's an analysis of the possible factors: 1. Empirical Observation: Many insights from ancient and spiritual traditions seem to stem from generations of trial and error. For instance, the understanding of how digestion or circulation might be affected by sleeping position likely came from centuries of observation. When large populations experience common ailments-like heartburn, indigestion, or sleep disorders-patterns begin to emerge. These patterns would have been noticed and passed down as practical wisdom: People sleeping on their left side may have reported fewer symptoms of acid reflux, leading to a general understanding that this position benefits digestion. Similarly, sleeping on the right side might have been linked to easier breathing or better comfort in certain heart conditions. This accumulation of knowledge through daily life experiences is very much a trial-and-error process where coincidental observations gradually coalesce into broader health guidelines. Over time, a systematic body of anecdotal evidence would grow, reinforcing certain practices as cultural norms. 2. Systematic Processes in Medicine and Spirituality: Many of these ancient insights were not purely coincidental but part of systematic approaches to health and spirituality: Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) are prime examples of systematic processes. Both systems are deeply structured, integrating the body's anatomy, energy flow (prana, qi), and cosmic or natural laws. In Ayurveda, the alignment of doshas and bodily functions is thoroughly documented, and recommendations like left-side sleeping are based on these principles. Similarly, in TCM, the knowledge of how organs like the spleen or liver function was not merely coincidental but tied to a comprehensive view of the human body, energy pathways, and health. The theories of yin and yang, qi circulation, and the five elements suggest that systematic reasoning informed their understanding of how the body behaves in different positions. Islamic teachings also emphasize specific practices like right-side sleeping, which align with broader spiritual and health-related objectives. The Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) recommendations would have been seen as both spiritually enlightening and practically beneficial, blending faith with holistic health observations that likely grew out of the knowledge of the time. These systems often derived from close observation of nature, human behavior, and spiritual reflection, combined with systematic documentation and refinement over time. 3. Influence of Intuition and Spiritual Understanding: Beyond empirical or systematic methodologies, spiritual and esoteric traditions often placed great weight on the symbolic significance of body positions, including sleep: In yogic and Ayurvedic traditions, for instance, the concept of left-side (Ida Nadi) as cooling and receptive energy would not be based on biological observations alone but also on metaphysical insights. These spiritual traditions suggest that human health and vitality are influenced not just by physical posture but by how these postures align with the flow of universal energy. The same can be said for certain spiritual interpretations in Chinese philosophy, where energy (qi) was thought to govern all life processes, and sleeping in specific positions helped optimize this flow. The intuitive or metaphysical reasoning here seems to go beyond coincidental observation and into the realm of spiritual insight, where subtle energies, not visible to the naked eye, are believed to interact with bodily functions. 4. Holistic Worldviews: Many ancient traditions saw the human body not as an isolated mechanism but as part of a broader interconnected system: The idea that sleeping on one side or another affects health can also be connected to how these cultures viewed the interconnection between the body and the cosmos. For example, Ayurvedic thought links the body's processes to the movement of celestial bodies, daily cycles, and seasons. This holistic view suggests that positioning the body during sleep reflects larger forces at play, aligning with natural rhythms for optimal health. These insights were also tied to social wisdom and generational memory-through experience and shared knowledge, each generation would refine and systematize the practices of the previous one, embedding them in ritual, tradition, and even medicine. 5. Cultural Transmission and Codification: The fact that these sleeping positions were codified into spiritual texts, medical treatises, and cultural practices suggests a deliberate process of refinement and transmission. As cultures developed, they likely combined observed health benefits with spiritual or philosophical frameworks to produce a more coherent set of beliefs: For example, in Islam, the recommendation to sleep on the right side is connected to spiritual humility and purity, but it’s also framed within the context of overall bodily well-being. This demonstrates a deliberate attempt to encode practical wisdom into a spiritual tradition, ensuring the information was passed down and adhered to. Codification in written and oral traditions helped turn isolated observations into cultural norms and spiritual practices. The teachings of religious figures, physicians, or sages served as authority, reinforcing the idea that these positions held deeper meaning and tangible benefits. Conclusion: The insights these societies had about sleeping positions seem to arise from a blend of empirical observation, systematic processes, intuitive spiritual understanding, and holistic thinking. Accumulated centuries of observation undoubtedly played a role, but many of these traditions also built on sophisticated frameworks that combined physical health with spiritual principles. The body of knowledge likely evolved through a cyclical process of observation, refinement, spiritual insight, and codification, with each tradition adding layers of meaning and practice to what began as simple health observations. This blend of practical and spiritual wisdom demonstrates a deep awareness of the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and cosmos-a hallmark of many ancient cultures.

    I’d argue that many (most?) are either I’ll-equipped or can’t be bothered with understanding the nuance of how money really works, and systems thinking. They’re willing to listen to politicians’ surface-level rhetoric, often without any additional explanation that can be analyzed, scrutinized and challenged, but taken purely on faith. We seem to not only have abandoned teaching critical thinking to the masses, but even to actively discourage education and replaced it with “trust me bro!”

    Bro find seeded grapefruits

      @@fal8872 Farmers markets do really well on this. I shop organic/non-GMO and rarely encounter a grapefruit without seeds. There are usually a few mature seeds. I learned from Yahki recently that seedless does not mean there are no seeds. In many cases, seedless is where the seeds are so small, they are nearly invisible. I side with you on this as I would prefer the presence of visible seeds. However, Yahki’s recent (last few months) breakdown has made me more comfortable with fruits with barely a seed even when the fruit is organic/non-gmo.
