Shearon Harris Post Front (Pre-Hurricane Fishing a Flooded Lake)
Shearon Harris is 3ft high in this video and the fish were all very excited about all the extra cool water. With a sudden deluge of rain, the lake rose quite a bit more than it has been in a few years, and although the fish had some extra water over them, they didn't all run to the bank like I was expecting. They took this chance to move slightly shallower on the areas that they were already sitting on and start feeding like crazy. The schools of shad were everywhere on the surface and blacking out the depthfinder when I moved a little shallower so all the fish, I was catching were full and definitely ready for the fall cooldown!

Lake Norman Bass Fishing (Trying to break it down plus Tips!)
Просмотров 4702 месяца назад
This is the start of my breakdown of Lake Norman. I've come to the lake many times, but not usually enough to get a real picture of how or what the fish are doing. However, I want to start coming here more often and getting the hang of the nomadic and crazy spotted bass lol. I started the day covering water with a buzzbait and was rewarded every few casts with a blow up or a fish. This actually...
Tournament Day on the Chickahominy River!

Tournament day on the Chickahominy River in VA! After two days of practice, one productive, one not so much, it's time to put it on the line for the tournament. I chose to launch at a ramp down from where I practiced two days earlier and work my way up towards the back as the tide came out. The day started off slowly as the cooler weather may have had the fish in a negative mood, however as the...
Tidal Water Bass Fishing (Chickahominy River KBT Practice)
Просмотров 2692 месяца назад
My practice day on the Chickahominy River in the coastal area of Virginia. As an offshoot of the James Rives the Chick (as it's known locally) is a tidal body of water. This presents some interesting challenges when approaching it. The tides swing on a 6hr schedule, and this causes the water level to fluctuate quite a bit, and as a result the fish change locations quite a bit as they jockey for...
Lake Waccamaw Smackdown (KBF Challenge Series)

My first day back on Lake Waccamaw in a few years since I moved away. This place has always been a sleeper lake, and I was excited to get back out on it to see if the fish were still in there. It took a little while, but I managed to get back on some of my old areas and patterns that I knew from years ago. It's definitely cool to get back to a body of water that I cut my teeth on and catch a fe...
Bassmaster Kayak Series Susquehanna River Day 2!

Day 2 on the Susquehanna River, Moving day! After seeing how my day 1 plan had gone, it was time for a change. My research from the previous summer tournament had me thinking that 85in per day would have me in contention, but man was I wrong. Day 2 would have to be quite a bit better, and my plan was to move a little faster in the morning in order to capitalize on the morning bite where it seem...

Day 1 of the Bassmaster Kayak Series on the famous Susquehanna River in PA! I came into this tournament with mixed expectations as I had never fished for smallmouth in a river like this before. After reviewing the previous tournaments and seeing what I had come up with in practice, I had a goal set of 80-84in per day. Little did I know how off I would be lol Although I made it to my goal, I did...

KBT Trail Stop No. 3 has the team and I on one of the best small fisheries in VA. Number 1 in the state for recorded citation bass (Fish over 22.5") and it is a very well-deserved title with above average sized fish coming aboard for us during the event. During practice I had located a few large schools of fish on the few community holes that were throughout the lake, as well as a few spots hid...

Day one of the Mach Nation Frog Fest tournament, a summertime all public water online event. After many GoPro issues and maybe getting them worked out, I am back! Welcome to competition day! KBT trail stop 2 on the Rappahannock River in western VA, a massive tidal fishery chock full of bass, snakeheads, stripers, catfish, and all manner of sportfish. Tidal River Bass Fishing (KBT Tournament Practice)

Come along as I work to uncover the tidal water fisheries of the Eastern VA coastline and practice for the second stop of the KBT Trail. Drawing on my past experiences on tidal waters of SC I was able to narrow down my tackle selection as well as sections of the river to a few areas that looked fairly productive. I started out fishing the main river channel outside of a major creek arm but was ...

KBF National Championship 2024 Practice (Bonus Giveaway!)

Practice day for the 2024 KBF National Championship. I had picked an area of the lake that was rather large in case there were other competitors that were in the area, and I didn't want to be sharing water or fish over a 3-day event. After picking the area apart and on the last of my three practice days, I began to put together that the fish were in staging areas outside of spawning pockets. Us...

Offshore Bass Fishing (Hyco Lake Mega Schools)
Great video brother. Can’t wait to fish a bit together next season.
Love these type of videos. Would love to see how you break down / prepare for a lake before you get there. Of course more videos like this too! How do you find these free tournaments to enter?
Nice work out there Sir!
Very nice video buddy! I really enjoyed going along with you! Keep gettin after em buddy!
Great day of fishing 👍
You got that right!
I have this same kayak on the way. Ive had 3 auto pilots and two 106 MKs thennnn I spent two years trying to rig motors to duplicate the performance of the autopilot. Needless to say that diddnt work as great as I wanted it to.
The autopilots are definitely something special! See so many people with now mounts trying to get the performance but that's a lot of hassle when these things are available!
Great video. Are you casting into the balls of bait
I tried quite a bit with a topwater, but I think there was just too much bait around that they couldn't find it lol hard to see in the video but there were giant schools everywhere
all the above :D
How far from greenville is this? My daughter lives in Greenville and im wanting to go crappie fishing while im there. My daughter absolutely loves to eat crappie
If it's Greenville, NC looks to be about 30 miles west. Probably a 45min or so drive. Well worth it if you want to go catch them!
Great video explaining how you break down Norman
What boat launch do you like best?
I put in at the Hager Creek Access this time, still trying to find a really good area of the lake though. I'll try it another time or two and see if I find anything better though
Sick vid , that one at the end heartbreak 💔 for sure, I go thru so many batteries in the heat with GoPros good stuff man new sub
Appreciate it, I know she's in there now though lol. I just grabbed the 13 black so we'll see if they fixed some of the overheating problems!
Great video and very nice rig! I got a OT 120 AP about a month ago 1st ever kayak or watercraft love it! I’m still outfitting it I just got my fish finder yesterday, needs to be installed and tested. Your video is very helpful
Thanks! Definitely part of the fun is rigging it and trying to get it set up the way you like it. I know you'll love that 120 and if you ever have any questions feel free to ask!
@@Whamfishing will do! Thank you
They love a Berkley Choppo too!
Man they are just like chatterbaits to me, I've got them and everyone crushes fish on them but I can't ever seem to get a groove going with them 😂 would have definitely not of missed as many had I been throwing it though I bet!
@@Whamfishing like you I can’t seem to catch em on a chattterbait. On Norman, for me, I worked the choppo like a popper. Pop or rip it, then let it sit a few seconds. Seems to drive them crazy.
Nice breakdown. I plan to make the Queen City event up there as well. Hope to run into you up there.
I've got that day off but just found out that's also when I'm heading to TX for Caddo. Going to try and do both though!
Hey Wham, wondering if you live local and how to get involved with the KBT. Feel free to reach out would love to give you my number and chat. Looking to get into a group like this for next spring time/summer. Thanks.
I'm in Central NC, let me know what area you're in and I should be able to get you to the team captain closest to you
@@Whamfishing hey buddy thanks for the reply first I appreciate it. But I actually got in touch with Robert Brown of VKT and he’s closet to me and I will probably join up with his group and fish next year. Thanks a bunch for replying I do great appreciate it.
All the above buddy. Bring it! 😂
Nice work 👍
I like the vids where guys break down why they're doing the things they do and why they fish the places they fish. Educational type stuff mixed in to help fresh bass guys get up to speed.
Working on some of that today for you, thanks for the insight!
I like when you find fish on sidescan and proceed to smash em lol. Show me more of that.
You and me both lol I'll try and get some more of it!
See more ……. All of the above. Honestly just do it how you enjoy it.
Thanks man, will do!
Tips for sure along with fish catching
Working on it today, thanks for the reply!
Well I just jumped into the Mega Live world, it’s on order should be here Friday. Couple of questions; Why did you go with a separate power source from your Solex? How do you like the Summit system now that you’re in an AP instead of the Big Water?
I wanted everything removable for when I go offshore (saltwater) and wouldn't be using it is the main reason for a separate battery. Plus mega is a constant draw so if you hook it up and drive to the lake it's slowly drawing power the whole time. Easier to hook everything up without going into hatches and stuff at the lake if it's separate. As far as the mount, it works the same in both kayaks, in the autopilot the transducer sits better when it's out of the water as opposed to having to hook it to the paddle holder on the bw
@@Whamfishing Thanks for getting back to me. I like the price point of the Summit system. Do you need a ram mount?
U think he gives you the option for a ram mount in the pricing, can pick from track mount or screw in I think. It's been a while though 😅
I’m in the process of getting my mega live set up. Do you know of any companies that make an adapter for the mega live ethernet cable that is FEMALE to connect directly to the transducer without using the 20’ Ethernet cable Humminbird provides? I have the short “adapter” cable that Humminbird sells separately and it’s an 8 pin MALE to the 5 pin male. Humminbird has a 5’ cable but they want $50 for it. Where I’m mounting the Mega Live I have no need for the 20’ cable or even 5’ for that matter. I can go straight from the transducer cable to the Helix 9 but I need an 8 pin FEMALE adapter.
I honestly don't know on that one, it's all proprietary so I think the only way will be the full 20' one
I go by feel if the fish are there I move on and look for the more unlikely areas that may hold big ones. Cause no one would fish there lol. I have an equipment question, what system do you use for deploying your mega live? I’ve looked at Sniper pole and a couple others.
If it's a new area that I'm fishing, I'll stick a couple to check the quality as mentioned by YakNZak. You probably already know this, but your best fishing on a tidal river will be your last couple hours of outgoing tide and first hour and a half of incoming. The absolute worst time to fish is slack tide. I have fished the Chickahominy River many times and it is a great fishery! Hope you smash some good ones in your tournament.
If you know the place, I would not pre-fish
Valid point but fishing history can hurt you in the worst way on tourney day
I don't shake them off during practice because I want to know the caliber of fish in that specific area
That's kind of the thinking I leaned on, didn't want to roll in tournament day to a bunch of 10-12" fish and be scrambling. Those small creeks I wasn't sure would reload as fast as bigger water but that's the gamble of fishing lol
Show a bit more respect for the fish and don’t leave them out of the water so long, leave them in your net or a donkey leash while you get your shit together and check your photos.
Why so much hate on the guy,he's fishing a tournament thing to do the best he can.why don't you couch anglers fish the river an see how handle the fish.
Good luck,
Hard to watch fish #2 sit on That board for so long You need to be way more ready bubba
I’m glad you don’t fish in Virginia it’s bad enough I have to fish against Casey Reed lol See you in Bama. 🫵🔨🏴☠️
Can't wait!
Great video and some nice catches buddy! That one was a hawg! All good stuff as usual. Keep gettin after em my friend!
Nice vid! What crank were you using ?
That's a Strike King 8.0, the big one, definitely a sleeper bait that I throw when they are chasing big shad and stuff
Was gonna head there tomorrow and I typically have a tough time getting them on a squarebill..
Thanks for bringing us along
Well that one’s dead
Thanks for the video, always wondered about fishing that river.
Definitely check it out! It's pretty awesome, just don't boat flip fish apparently 😆
Nice job, you make that offshore stuff look easy. I really wish I had a better grasp on my electronics, guess I need to get out there more and force myself to do it.
Definitely takes a lot of staring at the screen 😅 I remember driving around for hours and hours just looking at it when I first got it. Absolutely helps breaking down water extremely fast!
I love that set up you got going with the lights and motor up front I need something like this ..!!
Time to go get one then! Trust me you'll love it!
@@Whamfishing just getting started bought a jackson coosa fd so better put that in my maybe next year ...
44 out of 124 is finishing very respectable buddy! Has to be a great fishery! Enjoyed hanging out as usual and watching you get it done! Thanks for sharing and hope you have a great weekend!
Thanks! I appreciate it! Absolutely looking forward to next year if they put it back on the schedule
Nice rebound from day 1. 👍 How did your spot lock work out?
When it was deep enough to be in the water 😂 it worked out great holding me in the current!
Beautiful! I will have one for next spring. As a northern fisherman and hunter I always carry a ziplock with some tinder and a few lighters inside just in case you happened to get wet and need a fire in an emergency. Weird things can happen quick. Thanks for the excellent review and be safe. Liked and subbed.
Definitely need to add that to mine now that you mentioned it! You'll love it though! Have to let me know how you like it when you get it!
@@Whamfishing Will do. Thanks again
Best advice I can give you for fishing there is 1 bring an extra prop. 2 bring a net. 3 Any tournament just keep 100 plus inch in mind. And 4 always Have everything organized, so you can get the fish back in the water quick as possible.
@everyone grow up, your favorite anglers boat flip fish 😂
What do you mean "Favorite Anglers" ?? What is that ?
@@jackinthewoodsii8653 The Pros that everyone adores

I'm working on it! That's part of why I started the channel, to help myself get a little more vocal. Keep on it though!
Nice work just be patient lol
Thanks man, appreciate your constant support! Look forward to seeing you at Gville again in a few weeks!
@@Whamfishing I will be there. Looking forward to it.
For the love of god please don’t come back to our river if you can’t handle a fish right. Total disgrace to the series dude
@@ryanreardon3510 that comment is idiotic. He released the fish. Be grateful he did that! And have you ever had a fish swallow a hook? Or are you plain perfect? Get a clue.
Not perfect, but using ur brain and being a little better handling fish will save the headaches of getting a rather of anger
@@quintonstone7324 the regulation for the whole river is catch and immediate release tourney's only , not catch and dick around for 2 minutes with the fish outta the water because your unprepared .
when pictures and selfishness surpass the fishing.
I was one of the guys at the ramp, The spot where you got the fish at17:42 is my little spot.
Wow, no sense of urgency in fish handling. Do better man. My home water. I have a routine. Takes me about 45 seconds and the fish is back in the water. Especially when the river temp is over 80 degrees!
You should be disqualified for the way your treat MY Bass.
Yours huh?
