Hand Spinning Different Breeds: Southern Welsh Mountain Wool.

The sheep bred on the southern hills of the Welsh countryside are hardy and tough and their wool definitely reflects these characteristics, and while its not the easiest hand spinning wool, it is certainly one full of character.
Hand Spinning Different Breeds: Falkland Wool *Naturally So White!*
Просмотров 624Год назад
Falkland wool is a bit of a strange one to hand spin as its named for a location rather than a breed and so can be quite variable. But its still a very nice wool to work with as its primarily a merino and that little hint of extra whiteness is worth the extra effort.
Hand Spinning Different Breeds: Jacob Wool Profile

Hand spinning Jacob wool is possibly one of the nicest things you can do. And that's not much of an exaggeration- it's a very balanced and easy wool to worth with that seems to almost want to be spun and used. As a bonus its also readily available, tends to be very cheap and is not too course to be used for clothing. Overall this is one of my favourite wools and one i return to time and time ag...

Hand Spinning Different Breeds: Herdwick Wool Profile
Просмотров 1 тыс.Год назад
In this next installment of the wool breed mini series we are going to take a look at Herdwick, a lovely but rather specialized wool for hand spinners. Its easy to work with but definitely not he easiest to use the end product as Herdwick wool is remarkably full of kemp. But its fun and very satisfying to spin, especially long draw, certainly worth looking at if you are a slightly more experien...

Thank you so much. I am actually learning to go from default yarn to planned structures. This infos help sooooo much
This is incredibly fascinating! Glad I found you.
Sadly anything above 19 micron is itchy for me
Very informative and great camera work! I’m so glad I found your channel!
These videos are so interesting!
Love this series! Thanks for making this information available 😊
Thank you for this instalment and so nice to see you back 😊
I adore all of your different wool tupes videos, i never had opportunity to touch different types of wool and its so interesting to wtach. Your vouce over is also very infornative and pleasant to listen to
Great info - Many thanks 😊
I only crochet and appreciate the mention of how this will compliments crochet. Thank you so much!
I’ve just got 200g of Jacob for spinning (only a small amount as I spin on drop spindles) and I have to say it spins like butter - so smooth, so consistent with very little attention on my part! Not sure what I’m going to make with it yet, but I’m really looking forward to it.
Thank you for your series introducing various sheep breeds. I enjoyed your style of videography it's almost as if I could reach in and feel the fibre. I started my spinning journey during Covid lockdown. As per I wanted to do all the things, so very quickly I bought a breed study and was over whelmed as to how and what to do with it/final project. I have decided to essentially follow the examples and sampling in the Fleece and Fibre book, and have my own tactile sample page rather than a blanket or something similar. Looking forward to more breeds! ..... if that is your plan. Thank you again
I’m glad I found your channel. Very interesting video. Beautiful fleece.
I'm looking forward to some relaxing evenings spinning some jacob wool i have ordered. I'm getting reacquainted with my spinning wheel.
Such an informative series. 🐑 Thank you!
Thank you! These breed studies are so fascinating and enjoyable to watch. You also pack a lot of information into some not very long videos which is really appreciated 🙂
I love this series! Exactly what I was looking for when deciding on what sheep breed I want to raise! How well does this wool dye?
It has a matte (muted) look than the vibrancy of merino. Kind of gives it a moody tone. It's gorgeous!
Thank you. I am looking forward to more videos. 🙂
I bought some Herdwick from Paradise Fibers (USA) last year as I wanted to try some different heritage breeds. Wasn’t quite sure what to do with it, so I really appreciate the tips in your video. Happy Spinning!
Hello! It took a long time to grow on me, but now i actually really like herdwick, its an odd one as its so course but its very beautiful and makes the loveliest garden twine or string. I hope you enjoy working with it too.
Thank you for explaining this so clearly. Beautiful.
Please upload my tutorials. Your tutorials really helped me kickstart my crochet journey. Greatful to you always. Kindly upload more tutorials please
How wonderful is she, thanks kindly for your time.xx💜
Waiting for the next tutorial
This was such an inspiring video! I hope you will make more videos to this series :)
Totally agree with everything you said. Corriedale was one of the first fibers i spun and I've loved it since 😊.
is there a reason why you go in front of the yarn when you say yarn over and then on another stitch go behind the yarn the next time you say yarn over? i'm just curious as i am about as skilled as knit one crochet two. lol would this stitch make a good one for a man's scarf?
🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲
Best tutorial I have come across. Thanks 😊
is it a quick stitch 2
Doesn’t look like she making a double crochet to me.
It's the UK term for US single crochet
@@knitcreativity8019 This should get standardized. It’s super confusing especially on RUclips where there’s a worldwide audience.
BELLO
Thank you so much for the tutorials for left handers!!! It makes it so much easier for lefties to learn and actually have their project look like it should
Half treble is the British name for the stitch, while in the US it is called a half double ! 😉
Thanks, I was confused. I'd never heard it that way
Lovely tutorial! Thank you.
Beginners videos please 🙏
🤦🏽♀️ Wow! You really tricked me! 😊This is just a HDC (half double crochet) 🧶 in the US. It’s my favorite stitch. ☺️
Beautifully clear. Thank you.
Good work 🎉
Looks beautiful..I'm loving it
Very beautiful 👍 😍 ❤
You are doing yarn unders.
Agreed.
Love it. Also, the double crochet stitch in the UK is known as a single crochet stitch in the USA.
Thanks for sharing
Thank you! You are a wonderful teacher!😊!
Keep it up 👍 👏 👌 💪
