how does one find out when the crews meet up?
I would recommend joining public and private local skate groups on Instagram, Facebook or any other social media platform for special event notifications. Such groups that I get info from are Boondock SK8s, Carolina Shuffle Crew, Roll Out! 🛼 The All Skate Family, USA Jam Skating and USA Shuffle Skaters.

The Insta 360 or whatever you're using makes for some easy shot composition, but the poor low-light quality of the camera makes the videos nearly unwatchable. Personally, I'd rather see more limited framing but the skaters be more than blurry blobs.
100% agree. The settings on my cam for this session were not optimal. I'm using the newest Insta360 X4 and I am doing tests and making final adjustments. The lighting on the floor is awesome, but not for filming. I vastly appreciate your honest feedback and I am working with the owner of Skateway to improve the lighting conditions.
@@VXSkate1 Awesome. :) Beyond its limited low-light capabilities, what do you think of the 4? I've got a 2 that I'm happy with and am considering picking up a 4 as well.
@@Doughillman I used the x2, x3, and now the x4. The X4 is worth the upgrade. Even the x3 was a marked improvement over the x2. After your original comment, I researched and found that my using lens guards was 50% of the reason the footage looks bad (Especially in low light). Glare, distortion and awful lens stitching were the primary complaints. I've taken them off and will be testing it this weekend under better lighting conditions.

Thanks for the compliment. Means a lot. Blisters? LOL! When I skated in the 80s I remember getting blister pads for the skates. I find the skate boots of today much more comfortable and better made.

You and I both. The 80s were a fun time... especially '83 and '84 for me.
I love watching this over and over. This may sound a bit too elementary, but as I get more comfortable with my balance I need to learn to move to the rhythm. Any chance you could create a tutorial that breaks down how to strut and bounce to the beat the way the group does starting around 2:40? Are you listening for the bass drum? How are you counting? Are you bouncing up or down to that count? How do you bounce, lean and place your weight on the straights? Are those crossovers being done on the straights? I’d really appreciate learning more about that.
