West Coast Davengers
США
Добавлен 10 сен 2021
Liberating all types of comic books from dark comic shops, dusty antique malls, and the spiderweb filled garage sales.
These are the celebrated finds!
Wednesday is WEST COAST WEDNESDAVE - LIVE COMIC CLAIM SALE!
Estate Sale Comic Collection - ALL MARK JEWELERS?!?!
Here it is, the final video - in my old house!
Right before my move I checked out an estate sale that had piles of comics in the photos, turns out it was a military collection and primarily Mark Jeweler Variants!
I explain what a mark jeweler insert is during this video too! Check out this haul, baby!
Some really nice key comic books, mostly bronze age with some late silver and early copper. Horror, War, Super Hero, Archie, this collection had it all!
So say goodbye to Davengers bungalow and see you at Davengers ranch!
Big thank you to Joe Skar for the edits on this video!

Derek Kirk Kim Interview - The Last Mermaid & Comic Unboxing! Davenger Con 2024
Congrats. I appreciate the shout out from Darrell.
Fantastic find. Do giant-size/square bound/100 pagers have Mark Jewelers since they are Ad inserts added to the centerfolds?
I'm about 99% sure they don't, I think that would end up being a manufacturing nightmare. It also helps me cause then I don't have to worry about adding an ASM 300 jeweler to my Mcfarlane collection 😅
I miss him and the uploads daily. I pray his soul and family find peace! We miss you Eddie P!
I wonder how many Marvel Spotlight #5s I kicked off...hah. I had a nice collection back in those days...multiple Marvel #1s of XMen, Avengers, DD #1, most early DC runs etc from 1964 up...still have books but not the best ones :-)
Perez Charles Davis Dorothy Miller Jeffrey
I’ll buy 15-20 centers for $1 each all day long. 😜🤪😂
It's a no-brainer really !
Da jewels!
RUN EM!
Whoa.
That's what my brain said when I walked into that garage
What a haul! Great footage and interaction as well. Sad to see it as the last with that back drop. Best of luck on the move. You may have done so already.
All moved in but still adjusting to things, appreciate you James!
The metal gear sound and the “jewels” effects are pure gold 😂😂😂
Joe really nailed it lol
Why didn’t you ask how much for the whole table?
Nevermind you did lol
hahaha you know it!
Great video, thanks.
Goodbye old room.
Thank you for your service.

"Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end." 👍 😁 👍
WHOA-HO there, Magic Jewels Dave!!! Incredible find indeed! Can't wait for the upcoming Jeweler-Mania sale! Plus, the whole production crew NEEDS a raise with this one! That editor, a STUD! And tell Comic Tim to handle the family jewels with care. NO BENT CORNERS!!! (sorry for all the jewel jokes, I can't help myself 🤪)
How many books? 😊
maybe around 600-ish!
In 1982 I bought a comic store that closed in Clarksville Tennessee. It was in a military town...it waa 38,000 comics (for 8 cents @ average) but had probably 2,000 Mark Jewelers variants. Most of those got pulled with 15,000 I pulled to wholesale to a friend that sold at large flea markets in NE US area, drove down to Louisiana to pick up them....looked like your table :-)...
Oh wow, I would love to have seen ALL of those amazing books that were probably in there!
Incredible find!
Love those bronze age DC horror books! Nice!
That's a hell of a score Dave
Wow. I've seen Marvel MJ of course and even found a few DC ones. But I had no idea there even were Gold Key MJs.
The Archies were new to me, I knew the Gold Keys existed but I had never gotten any until now
I love me some mark jewelers. I always check when looking for older books
The only thing better than all the VFX is the collection itself. You should make a compilation of "stuff non-comic people say" just for fun. One of my favorites is the "this copy is untouched mint condition" and it's like a FN/VF at best.. makes me giggle 😊 Congrats on the incredible score!! Can't wait to see these in the next few WednesDAVEs!!
I actually thought of doing a compilation like that haha
Awesome score Dave! Did you go back and ask about the HOS 92?
I did, he had no other comics, nothing was taken out. It's just one of life's weird coincidences. Or maybe the original owner loved that comic so much her read it to tatters! (it really is THAT great)
You ask the right questions.
kickass get buddy
Thanks my friend!
great vid my friend!
Thanks Lance!!
Smashing these apple fritters and THIS pops up ...F*CKIN PERFECT!!!!!
This is gonna be EPIC!!!
I stopped collecting in the 80's (I believe). Didn't think I had the Todd ASM run. Knew I had multiples of the first 13 of his then new Spiderman book. I was prepared to start shopping for the ASM run after watching this. But I checked my collection and, voila!, I have them all. Just saved myself some coin. :) The only bad thing: got a bit of a roll in my 350. Bummer. Enjoyed this post so much, I subbed.
I dont know the family, but I'm getting teary-eyed from listening. All I can do is keep them in my prayers. Many thanks.
He cracks me up, "thats should have been a 9.8 but its damaged". Yeah, that's why is not a 9.8 :P
😂😂😂
Everything today is about the indulgence of the self and ego. It's role-playing games where YOU are at the center of attention, and it's cos play where YOU are, again, the center of attention. No one gives a rip about the creators anymore, and they're the ones making it all happen. As an internationally published artist myself with Marvel Entertainment, I've had times when I've done signing events for retail stores, when I'm available for signings and even live drawing performances, but I'm totally ignored because the patrons are busy playing games. They can play games anytime they want to, but I was there for only one day in a lifetime. It makes no sense. It seems, art is dead.
Finally got the chance to sit down and watch this. I never knew Ed personally and I didn’t know much about him outside of the handful of Kayfabe episodes I’ve seen but this panel has brought out who he truly was. I felt like it beautifully brought out a personal side to him that someone like me would’ve never known. The Piskor family has been unbelievable at getting his legacy out there and preserving it perfectly. Dave, you did a tremendous job hosting and all of this is absolutely something to proud of.
🔥💙🔥
ED PISKOR FOREVER
Awesome job Dave, and pleasure to meet you over the weekend!!
Likewise my friend!!
Such an 🔥💟🖤 AWESOME TRIBUTE 🖤💟🔥 to EDDIE PISKOR🤩😎🤪
This was a beautiful little panel. Thank you for hosting this, and congrats to the Piskor family on the success of the first ever Eddie P Con.
This was beautiful! Thanks Dave & thanks to Ed’s family for putting on a well ran indie show and feeding us after.
Thanks for this Dave! Helps with the healing.
He came to a small con in Colorado a handful of years ago and I got to talk to him a little bit about his process and how much pride he took in doing everything from the writing to the art to the lettering. He loved every part of making each comic he worked on. You could tell he didn't take any part of it for granted and that's something that has always, and always will, stay with me about the few minutes I was able to talk with him.
Man cue the opening drum beats yo!!
Thanks to all of you for sharing the importance of Ed’s life and legacy. In Memory Forever Bright 🕯🖖♾
Love this!
