i was given this album scratched, no sleeve, but I loved it. One thing about this album that most don't think about is it more of a keyboard album. Chick Churchill does his best work here and Alvin is not so dominant. Choo Choo Mama and Rock and Roll Music to the world he rocks out. But give it a listen and you'll hear what I mean. I love this album. Convention Prevention still blows m"e away. "I tell the truth...I ain't no star...i only shout and beat the riffs thru my guitar...Whew!!!. I finally got to see Alvin live in 80-81" And he was great. Clean. Unfortunately, everyone was yelling for the old hits and he gave us that. Then he kind of withdrew from the public.

One of the coolest bands ever!

Through watching Andy Edwards Drummer and his Don Powell interview I listened to 'Slade Alive' for the first time and guess what the first track is. I was never a Slade fan; Ten Years After however....

Zeppelin was still not arround..... nor deep purple .......nor sabbath ........... This is a killer album a top 5 live albums ..... Alvin did his best job at this time unfortunatly the band got more commercial instead of going for more...... My deep respect ...... Leo Lyons must be the most underrated bass player ever.....

This is a great rendition of the song, the way of phrasing is striking in the manner of Maestro Sonny Boy Williamson, who would surely feel very proud

This sounds like the version recorded at The Night of the Guitars in Hammersmith London where Alvin and several other name players were on fire that night. I was there and what a treat it was - I believe the video is on RUclips so look it up and enjoy some very fine playing.
