Good job on quickly picking up the controls, the cutscenes look so great because they're very detailed pre-rendered cutscenes and are different than the in game models. They're designed and animated by Takayoshi Sato who also came up with the central plot of the game :).

@10:20 where you said that someone was going to get dragged into it ... that's not necessarily true. If you get Johnny's rep with you up high enough (>70%) there is another hidden option available to you. When you are getting ready to call in support for your final mission ... hesitate. Just sit there and don't make a choice. Once 5 minutes go by you will get the hidden option. Johnny will make the statement "It's difficult to ask people to die for you". That's when you get the option of going at it alone. This is the "Don't fear the Reaper" option. It is the hardest possible ending. You don't get a chance to save so you will have to complete it all in one go. But you don't put anyone else in harms way. You don't have to sacrifice your friends or family. Everyone else gets to live because the only person that you sacrifice and put in harms way is yourself.

You skipped a lot of other missions it was to soon to finish the game

I played the Ellie fight on the hardest difficulty at launch I think it was called survivor. Bro that shit felt so good bc she smoked me I kid u not 20+ times. Shows how experienced and honestly lethal she is and I love that shit. Those traps bro omg 😭😭

You made perfect sense when you said that this is more of a people than a zombie game. Fun fact, during the development of the first game, there were no Zombies for a long time, the apocalypse was instead caused by a virus. But because it is a game, the developers felt the threat had to be more comprehensible/direct, something one could fight, plus it would add encounter variety to the game.

I can appreciate Abby because after losing everything she would have every right to kill them but because she still had Lev she was able to pull herself back and stop I honestly don't think I would be able to I mean Ellie didn't know Mel was pregnant but it didn't make it better because from Abby perspective she probably thought she saw she was and still killed her anyway RIP to Yora Alice Owen Mel and Jessie a lot of people died

I only play this game for the gameplay and let me tell you this abby sections is so fun. To bad I hate the character🤭 how u feeling about her development so far. 1:12:28 Watch the expressions on Abby’s face. She clearly doesn’t feel satisfied. Killing Joel hasn’t made her trauma go away.

I don’t really like dream symbolism in fiction, but I think it works here. Abby was seeing the two Scars that saved her life, dead in the same room she found her lifeless father. She clearly feels some sort of connection to them. It is also showcasing the fact that she feels no better after getting her revenge on Joel.

I mean Joek did killed her dad and is the only person alive whi could've made a cure so I understand why Abby so upset thought that revenge would make her feel better I mean if it was my only family I had left in the world I'd be upset to everything is about prospective if we started the game with Abby story first then Joel would be the bad guy that's just how life is you have to be able to look at someone else prospective and this game does a good job at showing that like what Ellie has done so far she isn't gonna feel better afterwards

Every time I play the abby section I just pretend its a completely different game tbh. The characters in this part really nosedive for me like why the fuck is a 9 month pregnant chick deciding to go out and fight who the fuck let her. Don't even get me started on abby's dad and the zebra 🤣🤣 at least abby is a tank and fun to play. I legit just ignore the story whenever I replay for the gameplay

I think asking Ellie what she wanted wouldn't make much of a difference since there was a lot riding on this surgery and I'm sure Ellie would've agreed to it that's why she was so upset with Joel for taking that away from her

The astronaut scene was heartbreaking. Something interesting to note is that the dead Firefly was sitting next to a display of dead moths. Moths kill themselves by flying into the lights of campfires, just like he died by “looking for the light”. Also when Ellie emerges from the dark at 1:22:50 she is confronted by a group of wolfs. Neat foreshadowing, even though this is technically a flashback.

It’s interesting to see Ellie adopt the language of hatred for a conflict that she isn’t even a part of. The Seraphites call the WLF “wolfs” in an effort to dehumanise them. The WLF does the same by calling the Seraphites “Scars”. Sure you could say that Ellie’s just using theses abbreviations because they are faster to say, but I think it’s more of a psychological method she is using to detach herself from the violence she is committing.

this games story always makes me feel so confused its hard to explain what I mean without spoiling anything so I wont, ill just wait and post a fat comment on the last part. Keep up the great work I love the videos maybe when you finish this you should check out uncharted 4 on the ps5 it's another great story based game developed by the same company and even heavily written by neil druckmann the director of part 1 and 2. U dont really need to know the story of the previous 3 to enjoy it as well. I personally enjoy the story of uncharted 4 more than part 2 but I will always love part 1s story the best.

Fun fact: The developers sent out a team to Seattle, to walk Ellie’s journey so they could get an idea of how long it would take to get from one place to the next. Also, many of the building interiors are actually mapped of the real life 2013 versions, because that’s when the outbreak happened.

NPCs having names that they refer to each other by really heightens the immersion. It makes them feel more like living breathing humans, instead of random guards.
