Any chance you could take pics or video of the undercarriage? Trying to install the snowblower to the carriage without instructions. Thx.
Great video. Thanks. I’ve been into a couple on my tractors with the Ross steering box. Interesting way how they fixed that by drilling and threading. And great idea with the thrust bearing. Thanks again. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋🎄🎄
@@noelstractors-firewood57 Thank you. . This is how I will repair more future of these cross shafts. I use to cut out the old ones and turn new ones down on a lathe. But this would be stronger and easier. I also put the same style thrust bearings on thr axle spindles too...for snowblower and front loaders. Makes a difference. Thanks for watching.
Yes I have used those bearings on the spindles on some of my tractors. Helps a little. 👍🏻
THANK YOU!!! My LGT 125 has had broken steering for 3 years now! I cant wait for part 2 for fixing it!
Glad it's helpful to you, thanks for watching and keep an eye out for part 2.
Good one. On my LGT 165 the Ross steering box broke twice, front left spindle twisted off, drag link from box to spindle broke. I’m the third owner, 20 years now, all of us owners had the snowblower on. My tractor is the closed side version. I’m guessing 1980. Model and serial tag is gone. Great video. I’ll be waiting for the next one. 👍🏻👋
Usually the close sided tractors, dont have that problem. The cross shaft is bigger, and the drag link is shorter. Interesting, but of course it is 44 yrs old, lol
I’d say, if it didn’t have the blower, it would not of broke all that. And I have narrow 3 rib tires on the front. And 20 pounds of air in them. Plus I never steer until the tractor is moving. Just too much weight in the snowblower. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
Good one!
Thanks for watching!
Nice one. I have a 1970 John Deere 140H3. Yours is newer. Son and I picked up a Kwik-Way loader in Ottawa. We are mounting it on a Case 446. This loader was on a Wheel Horse 520H. Fun stuff. Have a great day. 👍🏻👋🚜
@@noelstractors-firewood57 hey buddy...yes sir and thank you. I wish I could keep them all. The Johnson on this deere is wider than the one on my Ford. The buckets are the same width. So if this doesn't sell...I may end up putting it on my wheelhouse d200.
Good plan, but I’m sure it will sell 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
@@noelstractors-firewood57 yeah I have a lot of interest already. Thanks again buddy have a great day
I received an old Cenex tractor that has the 2510 with the Eaton on it. I am building it as a street legal drag mower with an 1100cc Yamaha engine and transmission. I'm building this in front of my high school small engine students. In Montana it can be registered as an ATV to make it legal. It will be getting a custom frame, suspension, etc to make it safe and fun. Highly unlikely a student will drive it but I like to let them help with the build process. Anyways the Yamaha power train uses a driveshaft system. I am thinking about removing the Eaton and then machining a custom cover and input shaft so I an connect the Yamaha to the Peerless. I would like to flip the 2500 so the input is the lowest point allowing me to run the driveshaft lower on the mower and better aligning it to the transmission. I want the two speed rear end so that when I combine with the Yamaha 5 speed I can adjust between a "cruising" speed and a drag race speed. So this raises some questions: 1) Since I'm eliminating the hydro do you feel it would be acceptable to adjust case oil to something more suited to higher speeds? 2) Do you feel that with the eliminated hydro the gear set would be able to handle 90 hp and higher rpms? 3) Would the quantity of oil needed to reach the planetary set of the flipped 2500 adversely effect performance or should I leave the axle in factory positioning and come up with another connection method to the driveshaft? 4) What would you identify as weak points that would need machining and improvements such as bearings, gears, etc? 5) The goal is 60 mph cruising at 1,200 rpm and then durability to endure drag races of about 1,000 ft, what are you thoughts on making this idea successful outside of my questions? This is a weird and wild idea I know but even if it fails the idea is to get the students excited and thinking. Thanks for your time.
These are great videos. Best informative ones i have seen. I was looking at these years ago and now I'm looking at buying one. You answered a lot of questions i have. When did they change the way of designating the models? At that time did they keep the quality? Is the 17 snd 18's better than the 165?
@@eddieb4227 you are welcome, thanks for watching.
Hello my friend, I wish you success 🖐️🖐️🖐️🔥🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤

Good one. Nice tractors. 👍🏻👋🏻
Great video. I enjoyed it. Nice tractor. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
@@noelstractors-firewood57 thanks buddy, appreciate it.
Good one. Holy cats that lifts great. Mine don’t lift like that. Those blowers are heavy. I found a thrower a few years back and put it on my LGT 165 ford. Works great. Less wieght, closer to the front of the tractor. Not as hard on front end parts. And less moving parts , which is good. Thrower moves snow just as good as my blower or better. Have a great day. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
Yeah the single stages are lighter than the 2 stages. Less parts. They still work good...just not so much in a heavy wet snow. Yes you definitely have to upkeep on the front end parts and keep them operational. Skinny tall tires work the best on them...ribs..if you can find them. This thing steers like a dream. Even with the blower.
Most of my tractors have the 4.00 X 8 three rib tires on them. And I keep 20 psi in them if they have a front attachment. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋

I bought a non running LGT165 and got it running in one day. It has the rototiller, mower and small trailer for debris
Have you ever restored a Ford/Newhollland LS45 or 55 garden tractor.
Sorry no I have not. Parted plenty of them out...over the years. None of them were really worth " restoring "...sorta a throw away tractor, Unfortunately. Plastics always cracked. The Ford Gt series,it's counterpart was a much better machine. Thanks for watching.
That’s a neat set up. Very handy. What is gpm on the pump and pressure. I’ve never had a wheel horse, but my Massey Ferguson 14/16 have a shift lever like that and it has friction brake on it to hold it in place. And it’s adjustable. Great video. Have a great day.
Im happy with it.Ido believe it it's a 7 or 8 gpm..pressure I can't remember. I will check into the friction brake. Thanks for watching
7 or 8 gpm is good, that’s what my Case 224 garden tractor has. I use it on a homemade wood splitter. Works good. Have a good day.
Whats the mower in the background?
Jacobsen LT750, thanks for watching
@FordJacobsentractorcom I'm trying to restore a Ford lt80, but the deck is bad and curious what you know.
@@RyanWyattLangford if it's general information, look on my website. If the deck is shot...then it's shot. There hasn't been replacement part for those for about 20-30 yrs. Unless a dealer has new old stock laying on a shelf. I have 2 decks here...one junk with good bearings...and one perfect missing a bearing and hub.$250 takes them both. Thanks...and thanks for watching
@FordJacobsentractorcom I just need the bearings and spindles. I'll have to make some money after school for that, though.
Man I'd love a loader on my 165. That's not the same loader that was in your shop when Wes and I visited a few weeks ago correct?
Hi, nope...this is a 165...the one you seen...the one I currently own is a 125. Thanks for watching buddy

Have you ever put new tunes on this tiller? Do you have a cross reference for them?
The tines are no longer available. You may be able to find some leftover stock at a simplicity dealer. Briggs bought them out a few years back.

Oh man, that's terrible news.... I remember you mentioning that truck on the phone, so sorry Jason Yep everyone forgets to re-evaluate their insurance coverage every few years, tallying up EVERYTHING including your corner of models there can be quite an eye-opener to what your total asset-value really is. I have a vast collection of LEGOs, cars, tools, a number of guitars, and a collection of irreplaceable items my wife & I share. We had just tallied everything up last year (yep, was double checking our coverage was adequate because of the astounding inflation) and found that we are indeed still covered to the level we need+want as of 2023. It's also wise to remember to keep a detailed list of most your possessions and try to photograph/video them whenever possible - even if not for insurance it's truly incredible how bad crime is on the rise now, everyone I know lives out in the country and that's no longer safe either. My parents had someone sneak onto their property last year and run off with a number of motorcycle & car parts, luckily I had some footage of the stuff in the background of some of my own RUclips videos to prove ownership (but none of it was recovered 😕). My security at home is ramping up as Jan 1st this year someone broke into a number of houses down the street from me, keeping ready for the worst..... For those interested in buying parts Jason's prices are actually often hard to beat, you can't get hydro filter kits any more affordable than his and all the pulleys, belts, and bearings are the same price as what can be had elsewhere so why risk poor fitment when you can just grab his? He's great to deal with so seeing this is extra saddening. My 53500/LGT195 engine rebuild has been a nightmare but as soon as that's done I'll be placing another order with you to get the final touches sorted on all 3 of my machines. Wishing you well!
Thank you much appreciated. Yeah we have an itemized list, and video, of the house as well. The garage is something different, wasn't expecting that, there was more in there than I ever expected. Thanks for your business and thanks for watching.
So sorry you're going through this. Thinking maybe you shoulda waited another day or so to plow as the snow was still coming down pretty good! Gonna shoot you an email with a couple parts I'm looking for for my LGT165. Take care. 😊
Nah it was all good, clean as a whistle when I was done . Sun came out and melted the rest. Supposed to get more this weekend, but I have to keep up with it they way I work. Thanks for watching. Appreciate your business.
Sorry to hear that man. You’ve always been my go to guy for parts.
Thanks man I appreciate it
So sorry for the loss. I've done business with You, and you've always been fare and super helpful. Good things come to good people, so hopefully, You can get back to where you were. I have a lgt 145 close sided with the same exact Johnson loader. I wanted to paint it, because I don't care for the yellow. But just don't want to tear it apart to do it correctly. Only complaint is the tilt cylinders being under the bucket arms. Sure curtails any curling ability, while bucket is on the ground. Be well.
Thank you appreciate it, and thanks for your business and for watching

@@fordjacobsentractor thanks. I have a tractor that needs and engine. And wondered if a 10 would work. 👋👋👍🏻👍🏻
Can confirm, last night just found out that my low-hour 16hp Jacobsen closed-side has EVERY frame weld broken underneath the rear fenders because the tiller was used to cut untouched dirt - the tiller mount & rear PTO assembly was all that was holding it together, going to be a long fix this weekend.....
Holy caca!. I can't stress this enough. I use a 1 bottom plow twice a year..then use the tiller. Saved the equipment..and more seat time to play. Good luck on your project.
I just bought one of those that’s missing the springs. Would you be able to tell me your chain length, and maybe some dimensions of those springs, or the number on the tag?
Hi, unfortunately that snowblower is long gone as with the tractor. I buy and sell a lot of tractors. Someone once commented they used modified garage door springs? These looked like factory ends. 12" x 2"??? Sorry. Same with the chain it is a std. Roller chain. When I broke one yrs ago, tractor supply had them. I bought a roll and a master link. Just came across your vid. I've got an LGT165 and I'm still figuring stuff out with it. I have a tiller that I have mounted, hooked up the pto but can't figure how to engage the tiller (pto works). Also how to lift the tiller.
There is a lift bar that lifts the tiller. You need the rear PTO shaft that runs from the front of the tractor, to the rear. Look on my website there pictures and information, thanks. Www.fordjacobsentractor.com
