Silk Press Experience ( Greensboro NC )
Not every client is a one size fits all situation!
Some clients come in experiencing thinning, some cant retain length and others cant retain moisture !
Whatever they may be experiencing im happy to assist them!
Its never a quick fix and always a journey! You wont grow 6 inches overnight and one steam treatment will not rid you of 5 years of dryness!
Lol unfortunately thats just not how it works.
Im here to help you figure out triggers or bad habits you may have that youre unaware of and educate you on what you can do to get better results!
Comment CLIENT if you'd like me to assist you on your Healthy Hair Journey

WARNING ‼️ This is a Long A** Caption ‼️ It’s Never been about me! I have truly always had the desire to care for and love on women. Especially WOC ! There is so much that we endure every single day and I just want a safe space for us. I safe space with no judgement just care! My clients know… we get down to the nitty gritty. I want to know what your daily routine looks like as well as what you ate yesterday 👀🤭 because the only way I can truly help you is if we are open, honest and on the same page. Reading these reviews have shown me that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be doing exactly what I’m suppose to do🙏🏽 A few years ago, when I decided to move nine hours from home, I thought I would just work a regular job or just focus on my online business. It felt comfortable, it felt easy, it felt safe. One day I had a woman reach out to me on Instagram in greensboro asking if I can do her hair ( I call her My OG Client) because she really admired my work. In my mind, I was practically retired and only focusing on traveling back home once a month to do my existing client that have been coming to me for close to 15 years. I’ve been doing this close to 20 years so yea I’ve got the foot problems, the back problems, the neck problems, and the wrist problems. All the things lol. The last thing on my mind was opening another salon at this point. Long story short, she was persistent and convinced me to take her on as a client. I did her and really only her for about a year and during this time she mentioned to me that I needed to open a salon here in Greensboro. At the time it just seemed like way too much work and I didn’t think there was a need for my expertise here because all I saw was a lot of hair braiding, locs and extension twist. None of which I offered. I started to consider it and I starting to get this burning passion inside. So much that I couldn’t shut it off. It was on my mind CONSTANTLY! Yes it made me a bit anxious but more so EXCITED! In August I decided to do it and by September I’d signed a whole lease y’all. With ONE client ( and my cousin that has always supported me ) I signed a whole lease! People said I was crazy to do this in a brand new city with no existing clientele! They suggested I just work in someone else’s salon. But one thing you can’t tell me nothing about is my God! My faith has always been stronger than my fear and that … is all the fuel I need. Here we are two years later and I’ve built an AMAZING clientele almost effortlessly but I still plan to leave behind the chair one day soon. My Goal is to continue to Grow what I’ve built and last thing I want to do is leave my present and future clients stranded so I’ve decided to open a much larger salon so I can train other beauty professionals to provide the same kind of experience that I do. This New Salon is meant to give the Ultimate Salon Spa Experience. We are looking for a Massage Therapist, Esthetician, Loctician, Yoga Instructor, Healthy Hair Specialist as well as 3 Junior Stylist and 2 Assistants. To my clients that have made this 20 year journey so beautiful I thank you and I love y’all FRFR. I shed a tear making this video 🥺 I’m still a Gangsta tho 🤭 If you can see the vision for us! I ask that you share our post as we are preparing to open next month. If you’d like to donate to this new journey you can do so via this page or you can send me a DM. Prayers count too 🙏🏽❤️ Love you

I know many will disagree but I know for a fact I’m not the only one seeing woman come out of Protective styles AKA Braids and have insane hair loss! I see a lot of hate when it comes to sew ins vs braids and idk why? Is it because the sew in has minimal leave out ? In all the years I’ve been doing this I rarely see damaged leave out from an install being properly maintained by a great stylist. Most clients that are serious about their hair growth journey and wear weaves are most likely coming to the salon to maintain it to ensure it stays healthy. if they are wearing a weave and they have a stream heat damage chances are they got the we’ve done just to have “ the look “ and they are trying to maintain it themselves and not caring for it properly and frying they leave out. I get that braids can be a protective style and I’m really a big fan of braided styles but what I also know is if the hairstylist is not educated in proper hair care, braids can be detrimental. A lot of the styles are done way too tight. and my biggest pet peeve is that the hair is not properly being cared for before it goes into the braids. The scalp should be treated and detoxed if needed. The hair should have whatever treatment is needed at that time but most of the time the stylist are telling the clients to already come shampooed, and only God knows what that client is going to shampoo their hair with. Point is : Braids, wigs, weaves, wraps etc etc are all great if the hair is both protected before the install and properly maintained

Believe it or not I don’t use very high heat on her hair! This is why I stress steam treatments! The healthier the actual hair is the easier it is to manipulate. If your hair is not in the best shape and you refuse to get a steam treatment I refuse to press your hair. My clients know this. You can get a haircut, I’ll stretch your hair and maybe even a color gloss but I won’t iron your hair. Sorry that’s just me. DM me if you’d like to argue 🤗 I do offer an “ Xpress Press “ that skips the steaming, BUT … this service is only for regulars that have been to me and their hair is in great shape ! Do you steam your hair ? How many years have you steamed ? And if you haven’t you’re not alone but I wanna know!

Because sometimes I actually feel like doing my hair and these clip in styles take no time at all! I’m a hairstylist yes but I don’t like to sit and get my hair done🫣 one because I’m super tender headed and two because I have a hard time sitting still! The thought of sitting to get my hair braided drives me crazy. Maybe one day … but until then this is a protective style that works for me 🙏🏽 What is your go to protective style ?

When it comes to “The Look” some clients want just that without having to do much of anything else! In my years of experience sew ins require the least amount of maintenance and I’d trust a client to wash her own sew in ( if necessary) than a client washing her own tape ins, microlinks or itips. There’s just too many moving parts. Especially if they are Newbies Other extensions methods can be problematic if you don’t commit to your salon appointments. With a sew in you get a little more “Lee-way” Never actually wrote that out before 🤔 did I spell it right 🤪 This method will allow most of her hair to rest for a while. Other methods the hair is exposed for the duration of the install. A consultation is always best to see what works for you 🙏🏽 Ps. The one thing I’ve always loved about what I do is being able to completely switch it up in a matter of hours or if you know ME a matter of minutes 😝

Hair extensions are and have always been a great way to add color to your hair without the actual commitment ! Although I’m a wig lover as a hairstylist I know that there are clients that still love to wear their own hair but still have fun with it! Whether you want to add color or add some length, extensions are a fun way to go! This is one of my favorite methods when it comes to newbie extension wearers ! It literally feels like your own hair! It’s super seamless! Can be worn up or down and pass the ponytail test 😉 Not a lot of beads are used so it makes it comfortable for clients Easy maintenance for clients Find out if you’re a candidate for this method
