Joe & Mac (Genesis) Easy Co-op 8:50 Speedrun
After starting with a 8:56 and 8:58 in our first couple runs, we hit a wall and had to plug away for another hour to finally get our sub 8:54 time we were shooting for. Plenty of room for improvement!

Plenty of time to save yet in this one, but this is over a minute improvement from my previous PB....huge time save in such a short run. Major improvements are: Playing with Mac (starts further forward in level) One-cycle brachiosaurus Great RNG on Ichys Better general execution on stages

Almost a minute improvement on my previous PB! It is so easy to lose a run to RNG on the plant or pterodactyl, so glad just to get through this game deathless. Major improvements are: Playing with Mac (starts further forward in level) Better stage and boss execution

Thanks to the Board Boosters for diving into this game and finding some time saves! This is a 30s improvement from my previous WR. Major improvements include: No damage in levels Early hits on anklyosaurus, mammoth (missed in this run), and last t-rex Playing as Mac (starts further ahead in levels than Joe) New strat on skeleton t-rex

P1: JaekRock P2: SpaceCoastGaming Took a while to get this one going due to bad attack/speed/shop RNG, but we got it there eventually! Fun to watch the bosses melt in the late game.

I recently revisited the Normal difficulty speedrun of this game on stream (twitch.tv/jaekrock). After a PB in that category, I tried Easy out, and got a PB in that one too. However, it included a death. I ran the game offline and got a nice deathless run. Would be very happy about it if not for losing the whip immediately before the final boss rush...probably cost me the 30:XX.

The first 20:XX time achieved in Bubble Bobble Part 2! This run uses a strategy to spawn and NOT collect 7 crystals, while warping with umbrellas as much as possible, so the last 17 stages of the game can be skipped entirely. It was supposed to be a meme speedrun I learned for a friend's birthday, but instead it was a world record time on Greendog for the Sega Genesis. Done on the 10th attempt, it was probably my most surprising WR, as I had no idea what kind of time I was on. Room for improvement, but overall a pretty clean run of a pretty terrible game! 4:24 On the opening of Greece, you can avoid that final minotaur by throwing a boomerang at the apex of your jump. The minotaur will get stunlocked long enough for you to slip under it and onward. Good run though, better than my PB.
Thx! I typically do that on that final minotaur, but it's pretty funny that both my Easy and Normal PB's I brainfarted in that section lol. Oh well, you know what they say....future time save!
GG, and congrats on the new WR! It's a shame Bubble Bobble 2 was released so late in the NES life cycle, it deserves a lot more love than it tends to get!

Does magic number 3 of Gilius do the same damage as magic number 3 of Tyris ?
Yes, Gilius's level 3 and Tyris's level 3 both do 10 damage, and it takes Gilius one less potion to do it. It's also a quicker animation.

As far as I can tell this is the only ending. I haven't seen any others, except for the gameboy version of the game, which is completely different. I need to upload my latest run of this, it's down to 21:49 now lol
