let's chat | favourite books of 2023
I could tell you were in Melbourne from that little clip at the beginning. Man I miss that place.
Anyone interested in reading my books ? ❤🎉❤
Hola guapa, que probleam quitarias del mundo
loved the list! You should try 'The garden of evening mists'- it's beautiful and so well written with the perfect imagery and themes of love, losss, memory, guilt, war!
@@shilpidey3884 ah this one has been on my tbr for ages! I loved The House of Doors by the same author. I’ll definitely check it out soon x
@@readwithbell looking forward to the review!
the girl who fell beneath the sea is the best book i have read i know it has some plot holes but i have hard time imagining scenes but author wrote scenes with such simplicity with cut short words that nothing was over the top and i could see everything in front of me, definitely a book i would love to forget everything about so i could read it again and again and again, i love it because of the emotional response it got out of me i was reading a boring painful series in those days so i dnf'ed that and read this quick emotional book that adds another reason to enjoying it more
It's so nice to see you again. Welcome back. I have missed your gentle videos. ❤️
I got so many new book recs from this video, thank you! I didn't know that Elif Shafak was coming out with a new book this year, I love her writing so I have to get my hands on that book as soon as it's out.
@@mariajosefin I’m so excited for her book! I’ll definitely report back 🫡
Another fantastic video. (The thumbnail looked so cosy!) Loved all of your answers and the skips were understandable. Also totally agree with your assessment of Birnham Wood! Looks like you're on pace to hit your goal with time to spare 🎉❤
Thank you; you're too kind! And yes, I'm so glad someone feels the same about Birnam Wood.
brotherless night was so good! totally agree
Isn't it?? I'm so glad it's winning so many prizes!
Earlier this year, I read In Memoriam thanks to you and it became my favourite book of all time! Your cosy and calm bookish videos are such a delight to watch ☺Can’t wait for more for the rest of the year (can you believe it’s July already)!
Ah thank you, you've just made my day. I'm so glad you loved In Memoriam too!
I’m glad I’m not alone about Birman Wood! I couldn’t put my finger on why, but I DNF’d and felt like I was the only one who didn’t get on with it 😅
Yes, you're definitely not alone in this!
so happy to have found your channel. Such great recs !! Will totally read Rachel Cusk, the way you talked about her books made go and buy them, just because they sound so good.
Ah I’m so glad! Hope you enjoy them x
Girlll, never apologize for a reading slump
Such a calm and cosy video as always. Great to see you uploading again :)
Thank you for sticking around x
The coziest book vibes!✨

Your bookshelf is so cute! Where is it from? 😊
It’s from this Aussie online furniture retailer called Temple & Webster :)
I like ur vibe and ur hair u look incredible❤
Aw thank you you’re too kind :)
They all sound so interesting! Please do a wrap up at the end of the month❤
I definitely will do!
Best wishes with what you choose to read. I hope you get some great stories. I'm currently up to page 805 with the Count of Monte Cristo. Still got some way to go. Happy reading.
Many of the books you recommend are not only great, they have great covers! I love them.
I will definitely be trying a couple of these!!
Hope you enjoy!
Listening to you reviews = reading a book that gives me a warm hug.
Aw thank you. I’m so glad you’re enjoying my videos x
How do you find the time to read some many books, I can read maybe 2 per month. Currently Nicola Vath: The Rule of Three. This story in the Vampire family is so different than other "Vampire books"
Stoner is also one of my favorite books!!! You hit some of my book buzzwords with "small joys of everyday life" and meditation on a meaningful life. 🤍 Have you read Rilke's Letters to a Young Poet? If not, I'm pretty certain you'd love it. I recommend the Joan M. Burnham translation.
I’ve not read it yet but it sounds amazing. Added it to my TBR for sure x
I adore seeing Senlin Ascends get some proper love! I've read the entire series and its become one of my favorites of all time! I also love The Remains of the Day as well. Definitely a great example of quiet power.
i love that i discovered your channel <3
Welcome!!
So excited to finally hear someone talk about Stoner! Immediate subscribe 🫶
Stoner is absolutely brilliant 🥰
Loved Bee Sting, I read it really quickly and it did not feel too long at all despite being long. Hope you like it x
I finished it a couple days ago and loved it!
i love this selection & also the way you describe books 💗
😊 thank you
😎📚👍
Your voice is such a pleasure to listen to, I am absolutely binging your videos while working through my uni work!
Love the PJ’s and coziness!! And I loved Tom Lake, so glad you did too 😊
Thank you! Yes Tom Lake was so good 😊
@@readwithbell you’re welcome! It really was, and I enjoyed the audiobook narration by Meryl Streep! But that physical copy is amazing too 😍
Hi ! I've just realised you only have 730 suscribers....how is that possible ?!!! Your content is amazing ! I really wanna try Brotherless night now.
Hello! Thank you so much for the lovely comment; you've just made my day. I hope you enjoy Brotherless Night 💖
Love this pj series ❤!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it x
Amazing video as usual. It was great to hear such insightful views - particularly on the Women's Prize books - in such a cosy and comfortable setting!
Aw thank you for this lovely comment. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the recs. Cool mic cover.
the way you talked about Stoner and Leonard and Hungry Paul actually gave me goosebumps, I can't wait to buy and read them. Thank you for the lovely recs!!💛
I hope you enjoy them 😊
Fantastic selection :) I love The Remains of the Day and have Wandering Souls in my TBR.
Remains of the Day is fantastic. I really do think it's Ishiguro's best work yet. Hope you enjoy Wandering Souls x
knew i could trust this list when i saw transcendent kingdom. one of the best books of all timeeeee
I agree, it's such a wonderful read!
the storm was a paid actor!! its my favorite kind of weather to read and talk about books
Exactly! I love rainy days; it's so cosy.
Your voice is very soothing! <3
Aw thanks! ☺️
Your taste in books is *chef’s kiss*
Aw thank you! ☺️
I like your collection
Aw thank you!
I love how soft spoken you are and the sound quality is great. It’s a pleasure to listen!🤍
Aw thank you so much. That's such a lovely thing to say 💖
I have my eyes on those Barnes and noble edition of Jane Austen’s books for a while. They’re so beautiful!
Ah that edition is absolutely gorgeous!
loved hearing you talk about these books, im about to put all of it on my tbr!
Very enjoyable video, thank you so much. To Sleep in a Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini was my train ride escapism go to. Science fiction with a kick ass female lead character, awesome book. You might enjoy In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust if you like really getting inside a character's life (aka stoner). It's got a pretty fearsome page count but I found it transcendent and beautiful. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for the recommendation! Added it to my TBR :)
This was so nice and relaxing to watch while I work ❤
I'm so glad!
