The first time I got to drive my 1971 Ford 4500 TLB running under is own power since I bought it 1 year, and 7 month ago (needs a hood, and dash). Now to rebuild the loader/backhoe sections, and get them put back on.

1971 Ford 4500 TLB rebuilt engine running for the first time, after a year, and half. Need to re-torque the head bolts, and check the valve lash (new valves, new seats) think I may have to replace a rocker arm, one was very hard to adjust, the one that was ticking. Couple of them got a little tight.

1965 Massey Ferguson 2135 Industrial
Hello Ken. Nice slideshow and nice work 👍. I did notice in a couple of your slides you were machining some parts on a lathe. Was wondering what the odds might be in talking to you about possibly machining me a new front steering motor pin? Thank you and talk to you soon my friend. And keep up the great videos they are very
Best Channel on RUclips!!!
@Ken65 I’ve got a 1966 gas 135 that has a 5’ rotary cutter permanently attached to it. I have a 72” practically new rotary mower sitting in the barn never getting used because the tractor it was paired up with got sold. Your videos here have me thinking I should hook up the 72” and give it a try. It’s a heavy mower!
I ran this mower behind a gas 135 years ago, and it did ok. About 200 lbs of weight on the front of the tractor will help you.
great video btw !!
Just wondering what year that 135 is ?
1967
@@fiat38 Thanks 👍
That cutter is not too much for it? Doesn’t choke the tractor down?
It handles it pretty good ruclips.net/video/1V_jtdp7EOo/видео.html
Great machine
So how has it worked out? Would you do it again?
Ken thanks for all the great pictures of the TLB. I just purchased a 73. Everything seems to work well and the diesel engine was replaced a few years back and runs like a champ. i was wondering if you have a couple of pictures of how the remote throttle for the hoe attaches. i cant seem to find how this attaches to the main throttle. mine was disconnected and not sure of routing and hook up Thanks again for all the great pics
Unfortunately, I have the same problem with mine, mine was missing the whole remote throttle cable.
Hi I just purchased a massey ferguson 135 and a woods prd 8400 finishing mower. The mower weights 830lbs. Does anyone see any issues running this combination? Any advice will be greatly appreciated thanks.
You, Sir, are my hero-at age 70 I'm probably not gonna be taking the hoe off the tractor in order to replace those hoses and for sure I'm not likely to remove that valve body. Where did you find the seals and o-rings for the valve body? Mine workds fine with zero leaks but if I ever DO have an issue I'd be paying someone to do the work and would like to have a source for parts!
There is no rebuild kit for the control valve body but there are 12 plastic wipers for the spool valves (if yours are in good shape you don't need them) is part number 291722. Then there is 12 orings (the orings are what really seal the spools) .750" id x .139" wide (they are 2-210 orings).
Now only if they can get it to make a full hit 😆 what that car needs is someone that can tune it for a full pass not to blow the tires off every time.
Your doing some real Bushhogging
I know a guy that shoes horses that has a Ford 7710 and two other older smaller Fords. The 7710 Ford tractor and the 2815 Bushhog is awesome together. I have a Bushhog 2615L that I pull behind my 1990 Massey Ferguson 3070.
a man i used to work for a long time ago has a set the size of grapefruits !! you are insane !
Wish I could turn my 135 with one hand. Epic little tractor but I wish it had power steering.
You have pretty cheap add on kits for the 135. But I don't think this one has power steering. It's just the weight of the mower what makes steering easier :)
I have a 165 and I just purchased a 7ft John Deere bush hog. It sure seems heavy. Are you running any kind of weights on the front?
I'm not running any weights on the front, I keep the tail wheel on the ground pretty much all the time (I have no need really to raise it up very high). I don't have power steering so I don't want to run more weight than needed. If I had power steering I would put a couple of hundred pounds on the front (with the tail wheel on the gound all the time it steers easy, and I don't have to use the brakes to turn).
I love that car
Not kidding.
those guys were my heroes
too much wheel speed. drop down another gear for a safer, better job
Are they still developing this car Studezilla?
It's still a work in progress.
So much freedom!
First time I've seen this car hook and make a good pass with the nitro engine
Technically it’s a 4door funny car bc it runs on nitromethane not alcohol
Wow the hype🤪🍦
I grew up racing with my Dad at that track.
One word... Obscene. Thanks for building this. I hope I can get the chance to see it in person.
That has got to be the closest I've ever seen someone stand to top fuel car on launch. Absolute mad man, would have felt glorious!
I have 1...tractor 4500. I need it done....full tear down.. everything need done. Hydraulic hose to cylinder. Rusted. Need paint. I am in lake Wales, FL . Any suggestion?
Be prepared for it to take awhile to do a full teardown, and rebuild. Also some of the parts are pretty pricey, and or can be hard to find.
Getting that clutch set up working great job the sickest drag car ever
First promod in the 4s? Let see it in the 1/4!
11,000hp on a modified promo chassis... No thanks 3000hp is enough for me.
Its 8000hp
GS F no they make around 11,000 now
Im saying he is running an engine that goes up to 8000hp it would cost too much to run the same engine that nhra dragsters use
@@gsf2817 Scott Palmer owns his top fuel dragster/ race team. This is the same engine setup that is in his top fuel car, so yes... It makes 10,000+ horsepower
Wow, he made a funny car........
That's not a funny car... The chassis is completely different...
@@nickhale117 yeah, not a funny car chassis, probably no fire suppression system and chassis specs for running a blown fuel engine. It's not a new idea is what I'm getting at. The funny car concept has been around since the 1960's.
KreigsMarine2 not even close to a funny car a lot shorter wheel base plus a full suspension not a rigid chassis like a funny car but still has all the safety equipment completely different animal
He has a full fire system in the car just like a funny car does, chassis had extra tubing added for the extra power, and the rearend is mounted solid!
@@fiat38 He races funny cars for a living, This is a Top fuel motor. Do they call this chassis a pro mod??
What do i say , what in the hell is this for freakin machine , and yeah its from hell i say ;/ Never seen anything brutal like this.
That is Studzilla driven by NHRA Top Fuel Driver Scott Palmer and if you like that get down to a Mello Yello NHRA event and you get all the Nitro fix you want promise. Ive been doing it for 20 years
Nothing but the best ... put thousands of hours on a 7700
Good
I just got a 1970 4500 industrial , diesel, no pto, with torque converter. Has not run in 15 years, sitting in the weather all that time. Rusty, and full of vines and bees nests, but am starting to clean it up and prep for starting it up. Not sure what I am getting myself into, do not have the shop needed to do a full tear down and rebuild, so just hoping it cooperates.
I'm looking at buying a MF 150 diesel. I believe has the same enginee as the 135, just larger frame. Think it's big enough for my needs??
The MF 150 diesel has the same engine as the 135 diesel (Perkins ad3.152). The 150 is for the most part a MF 165, but with the smaller 3 cylinder diesel engine. My brother has a MF 150 diesel with multi-power, it's a great tractor, and I ran the same 84" mower in this video behind it with no problems.
What type of brush cutter is that?
It's a Woods Cadet (model 84-2), it's pretty heavy, and very tough mower.
You have to take it all apart to work on anything! I had fun just changing the fan belt. I know why it never got changed, Loader pump drive got new u joints while it was out. You ended up finding enough parts except for the front end?
Only the front axle pivot parts are not available, I made my own axle pivot bushings out of bearing grade bronze. I'm going to work the backhoe next, replace the hoses, repair, or repack the cylinders, reseal the control valves, and replace any pivot pins, and bushings.
I have to rebuild my control valves. Do you think you can get parts beyond O rings?
I haven't really looked for them yet.
Congratulations!
Why did it take a year, and a half ruclips.net/video/MeLI5RMfEkI/видео.html
Looking for a gear box and a slip clutch assembly for a hesston 565 t , you can give me a call 229-425-2001
I'll keep a lookout for one
what did it cost you in time and money? currently have ford 4500 with a nonworking sos transmission. Looking to get it fixed
So far its been just over a year, and I'm just about ready to have it running again since I pulled the engine. I have about $2500 in it so far.
had mine checked out and the mechanic was claiming 40+ hours work and 5600 for fixing transmission. just not sure if i can justify that.
The sos parts are getting hard to find, and when you do find them they aren't cheap. My brother used to work for a Ford dealer, and fixed a few sos, he said some could be a real pain to get working right. Mine had the 4x4 shuttle with the torque converter, it had a delay going from forward to reverse, or reverse to forward. I just swapped in a regular 6x2 transmission/clutch from a 3000.
Good to hear and ty for reply
Going to look at woods cadet 84" sunday. Will be using it with international harvester 574. Any issues and price u paid if u dot mind telling
Had it given to us from a friend who retired, and sold his farm. The seal on the bottom of the gear box leaked a little (pretty normal) just checked, and added gear oil if needed before using it. It's a Woods cadet 84" also, it's very good mower.
Not a 135 , no center piece on bonnet
The US made 135's didn't have that, the entire hood (bonnet) hinges over to the right hand side. I wish it had the UK style bonnet with the center piece because I like those better, but they are rare here, and very expensive if you can find one not beat up. I could order one from the UK, but it would cost 1/3rd of what I paid for the whole tractor when I bought it.
Ken65 oh thats unfortunet it makes the tractor
Only a 135 has the grunt to do this job
Tim Boothman yes lots of horses in a smaller package
Only a 135 can make that sound
