I am thinking if moving here. Will be visiting during spring break to check it out
@@stephaniesatchell2971 if you have questions or need recommendations let me know! 😊
If they gave me 6 months to live, I'd move to Amarillo. I wouldn't live any longer, but it would sure seem that way.🥱
Do they have HEB in Amarillo?😊
@@Mostopinionatedmanofalltime unfortunately, no we don’t 😢
This is such good info. Thank you! Felicia.
@@feliciaandrewsdiamondhomes4632 appreciate the feedback and thank you for watching! 😊
I went to middle school & high school there. Travis middle school & Palo Duro high. Been there done that. Let’s talk about the weather
Amarillo, where it is so flat and open you can watch your dog or your woman run away for 3 days...
Been there, done that. Moved on from that!!
I prefer not to!
Way over zealous praise for Downtown. I am a lover of a good city downtown and Amarillo is not one of them. I drive through Amarillo twice a year and keep cruising the downtown looking for the day when I can justify getting a hotel room downtown instead of on I-40 so I can walk around and enjoy the vibe. But this place has been dead since I started coming here ten years ago and the needle doesn’t look like its moved at all.
Maybe next time you drive through, stop and stay a while! The Barfield downtown is great and there are great restaurants and places right there as well. Appreciate you watching! 😊👍
Urban sprawl. That sucks
Don’t do it
I miss that place coming from Los Angeles. I was there for 3 months for work. I really like Cayon Texas. He is honestly speaking truth. Airport is quick, a lot of churches and a kids place. They are friendly there. The storms are crazy there. Thick rain there. God mad kind of rain. I’m was there 2024 reminding Walmarts.
Its not a loop outside the loop...souncy wasn't supposed to build up like it did....so we moved it out to helium... Its not two loops...
I was at BSA for heat stroke for four days in ICU. COST was $80k but with insurance I ended up paying $1000. Lived here my whole life crime only gotten worse here but what I can say is that the residents here are very nice to each other even though in reality the city is surrogated in a way.
@@rdgarcia6081 heatstroke is no joke, I’m so glad you ended up being okay! Appreciate the comment and hope you have a blessed day 😊
Coulter St. is technically where the medical district is located (North of I-40), however, you can get there quickly from Homestead by taking the loop, Soncy over to Coulter, etc. 👍
Great video!
@@kevinholden1188 thank you sir!
What is the climate there? I'd like to live in a low-tax, low-cost state, but not too hot. I don't want heat and summer all year round.
Yes!! Me too! Anyone pls have answers?
BORN AND RAISE HERE. NO!!! ITS NOT AS GOOG AS HE MAKES IT LOOK GUYS. WTF. 1ST OF ALL TAXES ARE SO HIGH. COPS ARE FUCKING RUDE AND NEVER HELP. SYSTEM IS CORRUPT. WEATHER IS SHIT. COPS ARE THE WORSE OF THE WORST.
Do you offer homes with farmhouse front porches or farmhouse style?
We absolutely work with builders who can offer that, yes! We can also help you find what you are looking for that's already built as well. 😀
@@movingtoamarillotexashave you thought about using structural insulated panels for your homes the r values are higher you can get rebates just the federal ones are up to $5,300 bucks per house and your utility bills energy bills you save 60% of them. I'm working with a company and we are considering putting a new manufacturing facility in Austin Texas area to service Texas.
@@shalon4jc2 You send your engineer drawings and we send back a copy of your drawings with the SIP panels engineered in your CAD. SIP panels are accepted across the country and Canada. SIP's have their own ICC approved for every building code. They are 55% stronger than stick and frame.
Wind..wind..wind... we need more to do here... a casino Or two!..... adult Venus......not just stuff for kids..... never seen the weather he's taking about... its hot, yes, and never been snowed in..not had a tornado... been here 6 years already.....and the smell.. omg! Too many Steers in a dump heap, standing in the open elements.......Inhumane, I say!..... hope we're not eating those?that's my take on it!
I can verify pretty much everything you said! You catch that Westerly wind just right and you can smell those feed yards for sure! 😂
Whenever you say alright, you sound just like Matthew McConahey.😅
Alright, alright, alright! LOL!!! Thanks for watching!
Stop moving here please.
Do you get 4 seasons in Amarillo? Is it diverse? Im currently in San Antonio and hate the humidity. We’re considering Amarillo or Phoenix area for our next move.
@@GabrielaRodriguez-bv8bt We do get four seasons here in Amarillo. However, the weather is and can be dynamic at times throughout the year. Happy to help answer any questions you may have! 😊
Winters are terrible there, unless you like a lot of snow & very cold wind
@@MjL293 Sounds really cold. Thanks!
I live here in Amarillo, Texas. I built my own house 900 sqft great place. Would not move to any other city except maybe Canyon. Great people, Great Sports, Great weather! I see a lot of America and I'm Always happy to get back to Amarillo, Texas. A place is only as good as you make it. By the way if you don't like a place you have the freedom to move! But, don't come back because it will make to a hypocrite!!
Its affordable and the feel to get back up on your feet plan on doing 2-4 years get my credit score up now if they get there own Football team then IM Locked in but other than that Thank you for the Video cant wait to join the community.
Love this, thanks for watching! We do have our own indoor arena football team, the Amarillo Venom! 😀
One detail wrong: Just this year they listed AMARILLO as the windiest city in the USA. We beat Chicago
hahahahaha, so much for Da Breeze
So your the one bringin people into amarillo........ yeah imma need you to stop that. Jkjk........ sorta.
I am surprised you did not mention homestead. Tax. Savings. When you have primary home
I’m glad you brought that up! I did in another video! 😊
Yup. I didn’t homestead my residence for 3 years and Randall Co. took FULL advantage of that. Once I got my homestead exemption my mortgage fell back to being just a little higher than when I first bought my house.
I live in Amarillo! I grew up in the panhandle.
Crime is crazy, it smells like poop when the wind blows (which is insane every day), it’s dirty, there’s SO MUCH HOMELESSNESS AND DRUGGIES just roaming the streets. I wouldn’t choose here if I had a choice. Property taxes are also insane.
Amarillo isn’t what it’s cracked up to be! It’s definitely a divided city. The North Side is highly neglected. Going from the South to the North Side is like going to a completely different city. Damn, near like going to a 3rd world country. Of course the North Side is predominantly black. The City hasn’t done anything to upgrade and beautify this area. The East Side is striving with new constructions and businesses. The cops target minorities. This isn’t what I’ve heard just actually what I’ve experienced.Being followed and harassed for being a black man driving a nice car. Yea, sad stuff right? I’m going to share the nickname for the panhandle “klanhandle”! You’ll rarely see any black people holding any top jobs here. The “good ol’ boy” system is in full effect. No opportunities for blacks regardless if you have a degree or a stellar resume. Speaking to the any blacks that’s considering moving here. Please, reconsider.
He is really making it sound better than it is. The wind will make you crazy!
Traffic is getting bad, stop moving here.
Amarillo isn’t the place for soft people.
Hecks no can't have nice things here only ghetto make it here
Amarillo and its surrounding areas have some of the ugliest views in the whole country depressing as hell
I take that back amarillo is great the surronding areas are depresing with the exception of Canyon
Stop coming to Amarillo. These rich people move in and buy things up and then the people who ACTUALLY LIVE/WORK/RETIRE here have a hard time making it because millionaires dont care. They just know they have money and dont see how it affects people when they buy rent houses and raise the rent. Please go back to your state and spend your money there. Crime rates are astronomical!!!! Gun shootigs constantly in neighborhoods with small children. Its unsafe. Lots of construction to look forward to and a new street is closed EVERY week. So theres lots of mad people cutting each other off and will be for the next 5years!!!
I would NOT recommend Betanough homes nor Barry Christy homes.
Why?? Who do you recommend. Looking at anything less than 200k
Move to Lubbock instead 😂
The cons out way the pros. Traffic is terrible, crime is terrible, the road work is unending, and there are no great health specialists.
My job offered me a position here. They having problems hiring in this area. Trying to do research before accepting it
I live here and I don't see anything to do here
It never gets here to 115 , 120??? No way , 20 years , the best summer weather in most states, no humidity hate breaks in the evening and nice and cool in the morning
In my city we get all the way up to 395 degrees Fahrenheit
Amarillo is ok, shitty town quality of life wise which is reflected in home prices. However, gas is CHEAP here and we are 4 hoirs feom abq or santa fe, and 5 hours frpm denver, and 5 hours feom lots of skiing. Also commutes are vwry short. So save your faily comute time qnd commute to the rickies ir decent lakes on the weekeend.
It’s a lie. Denver is further than 5 hours. Google says almost 7 hours to Denver.
@YellowCityMom Where i'm sitting, it's five hours and fifteen minutes with the time change. Also, I drive about ninety miles an hour, so yea..
Don’t
Yeah well plan on takeing a pay cut up there lol
I’ve lived here my entire life and raised 3 children and there’s no other place I want to live!
PLEASE READ THIS. It’s just a place. Nothing outstanding- too good or too bad. Another place for people to get by. I did medicine for years. Many healthier places to be an older person. If it’s just you, go for it. If children involved , some limitations. All the kids from little towns around move to Amarillo. The Amarillo kids move away in droves , D-FW for example. It’s just a town. Historically, leaders haven’t made best choices. Too much greed and jealousy. “Why , if they let that huge business/ industry, etc. they will take over. But the best is NASCAR said , “we drive through Amarillo going from racing venues in East and West. Build a track and we will race here. “. The thought in Amarillo at that time was that racing fans all drink beer, and we can’t have that here. How many billions of dollars did that cost this area. Land was plentiful, cheap, flat, abundant materials, power, and water back then. Would have given enough $ and voice to the area we could probably kept the SAC base. Biggest employer now is Pantex (government). Mentality everywhere here toward new businesses/professions is that , we wish you success, but just don’t get more successful than us. Just make us look good. Look at the name on the baseball field and other things about. The cultural advances have come from wealthier individuals. And as the founders die off, the heirs may or may not be as devoted.
While I'm all for new growth, the past Queen Bee mayor and her regime almost destroyed this city. To all those looking at Amarillo that you might move here we have a different mayor and council that's slowly undoing what Democrat rule did to this city for almost a decade and existing crime is a result of that because of disrespect to fire in police. I'm all for government staying out of our business but I'm also for regulations that will get these property owners to tear down abandoned buildings. That's been a mainstay my whole life that I've lived here. Only thing I disagree with you on is our schools. Academically we need to do better compared to the rest of the state and our athletics are ran by the same good ol boys that have no foresight or innovation to improve and be better at competition. If we're going to spend the money we need to do it right. I've said this for years and will keep saying it, Amarillo has too many high schools and our student athletes in football deserve better than playing in an outdated stadium. Lol those old farts saying they don't like the growth, well they need to move. It is what it is.
Stay away please
Please stay away! These guys are just trying to make money off you. Lived here my whole life. We are full thanks to Obama relocation.
