We are a group of Amateur/hobbyist movie makers. We don't make any money doing these, we do it for the fun of it. We have very little money so we do the best we can with what little we have. We don't use real actors, we use our friends which makes it more fun for us. Making movies is just a great adventure.

Chapter 3

This is the first video footage I've discovered that has an event that I find, odd. It's nothing Earth shaking or anything I just can't explain a power failure that also knocks out a camera run on battery power.

This is the first chapter in my search for my son in law and his three fellow missing computer software designers. I'll explain in this video before I show you the first relevant video footage I've com across after watching several hours of video footage found on my son in laws lap top. I will continue to post any footage that helps us to solve this mystery of what has happened to them.

Formula Roc Season 7 Race #19 at LaColina
I remember seeing Kenny Roberts and Gary Scott as juniors duking it out at Ascot on friday night half miles. Such a classic time for these greart riders and their competitors.
This is great. Alan was one of my dear childhood friends. He lived directly across the street from me. Thanks for sharing.
A blast frim the past randy. I miss all if you guys
Hey, I was standing a few feet from you watching Hateley win the 500 Expert (maybe it was the Open class). Was also there the year the Europeans first showed up. Thanks for posting!
Do you have any film of skateboarders at the foot of the pier 76-77?
I realize this was posted a looong time ago… But if anyone has video of the Short Course off road racing from Ascot, please post it, or link me to it if it has been posted already. Ascot ran a lot of TT buggy races in addition to the Sprint cars and Midgets they are more famous for.
Thanks for saving this footage. My brother use to race with these guys until he got his head run over. He had to quit racing.
Who found this video on there for you page?
Thanks for posting this, my dad used to race there back in the 70s, I remember John Hately he was one of my hero's as a kid along with my pops Dave Bastian.
Thanks for the great memories this gave me.
Did you ever ride with or no a mike horton, ricky graham and mr.mcray they all raced out of salinas..???
I miss Ascot

Love random time-piece videos like this.
You should have been where we were (in the Western Town). John would come into that left hander fling it totally sideways and just hold all the way around the turn. My closest high school friends had been next door neighbors of the Hately's when younger. We always took our motors to Jack anytime they needed machine work. Mark Hately was in our same high school class, spent much of his time at my next door neighbors as they both rode for Mid Valley CZ. In what must have been the last year for Hopetown we were walking in when Mark pulled up alongside and told us to hop in his van. Their pit location backed up to the lake (we didn't know at the time). As we got near the pits Mark jogs left into the lake (it was dry) runs its full length and backdoors entry into the pit. You just know that was an insider move that a select few had used for years.
Thank you Randy. I really enjoyed watching many of the riders I remember when I was a teenager. I watched them in Houston in the Astrodome. I also saw some of them at Ascot while on vacation. Alex Jorgensen won the night I went and was awesome!
Johnny Graham
Maledetti..
Did you know of my father Don Waffle 10R or his other number 201R?
The name doesn't ring a bell. What years was he racing?

I can't add pictures here
That was a fast $129.00
Thank you for the great memories!
Do you like? No, do you like it?
Bad acting, but the biting maybe a bit convincing.
Anybody remember an MX racer by the last name Mathews? He lived on Cochran St in Simi Valley and raced in the early 70s. I remember “cookie the wonder dog” from that era too😃
thanks for the memories.
So bad lol. The bottom of the pit.
Do better
Thanks for this !!!!!! /Takes me back... when they were running 900 Harleys
Not bad editing especially for it being made in 2011😊😊
This is literally the best thing I have ever seen.
There it is.
Can't believe I didn't see this until now! Well, now I know what you've been "UP" to. As in, way up. Looked like fun, and terrifying at the same time. Hope everything is going well for you!
Thanks for this. I was riding there that night (13R, Junior), saw Keeter's crash... John Sperry, whom you mentioned, was the only Junior who rode a 2-stroke, a 500 Suzuki twin in a Trackmaster frame. Very cool bike and very fast, but couldn't quite keep up with the 750s at Ascot. Roberts ran a ribbed front tire on his Yamaha on the half mile, probably because it stuck better in Ascot's sticky dirt when he stuffed it into turns. Never saw anyone else use that tire there. A few years after I stopped racing I went to the Long Beach swap meet and saw John Allison's Champion Yamaha 750 in pieces up for sale, cheap. I bought it on the spot, took it home, put it together and fired it up - thing was a freaking missile! Way more power than the 750 I'd built for myself (being all of 20 years old I didn't know what I was doing, of course). Put some fake lights on it and the plate off my Triumph street bike and rode it to the Rock Store a few times. Good times.....
Steve Eklund's accident was at the fairgrounds mile track in Alburquerque, NM. A National Championship race. I wasn't there in 77 but, had been there the year before. A few horse tracks back then that were pressed into service for Nationals. I recall one in Colorado Springs where Bart Markel was seriously injured. While it provided some locals a chance to see good racing that probably would not have otherwise, it did not in my opinion advance the sport, particularly.

Randy this was amazing thank you for making this I’m in production of remaking this but in Spanish
I would love to see the completed film!!
Randy’s do you social media
Wonderful piece of work. May I know what type of super 8 and film have you used to make it? Thanks in advance.
I used a Bauer C A2 camera with standard (for the time) silent Super 8mm film.
@@Randyr3 Many thanks, you made such a precious gem thanks for sharing it.
Oh the improper things to say about that ...
The Memories
Awesome,I'll never forget ascott
0:31 Kenny #1 and Gene #3. Now I know what year my dad took me and my brother to Ascot. Thanks for the post. This wasn't the day we went though. Kenny wasn't there and they were racing the track with one jump.
... a TT race
do u have any shots from the 79 nationals in Ascot
Sorry no. This was the only time I thought to bring my camera to the track. I shot weekly sprint car racing videos at Ascot from 1985 until the track closed down at the end of 1990 however.
this isnt what i was looking for when i type train racing.. but not disappointed
Lol these movies are great XD
Thanks. Just friends having some fun together.
This is as unique as Milwaukee's state fair food
I just found this vid after watching a Top Gear episode where they showed/participated in figure 8 chain car racing -- might be the same circuit they visited and I do think I recognize a couple of the cars from that vid which is about 9-10 newer than this. Figure 8 chain car racing is so much more interesting than boring old nascar.
Sadly they just tore this race track down.
