Happy New Year! I too have set a goal of creating more “finished” pieces outside of my sketchbook. It’s not something I do, so it’s going to be interesting and definitely out of my comfort zone.

Happy 2025! 💖🤍 Congratulations on achieving your biggest 2024 art goal, and I love your 2025 goals! I am hoping to do a LOT of sketchbooking myself this year (I have a few to finish up!!), but I also hope to try lots of new mediums too! I'm mostly a gouache girl but I'm trying out pen and ink right now 💖🤍

Hi Adanna, I'm 33 and have been drawing most of my life. I love cartooning and when I was a child had dreams of being a cartoonist, but as I got older I became discouraged. I started to feel I didn't have a story to tell, or that the way I expressed my experiences through art wouldn't appeal to others. Because of that there were long stretches of my 20s where I didn't draw at all and I'm regretful. I'm trying to break out of that mindset where I think I'm too old to pursue my craft. I found your video while asking this very question and I'm enjoying your perspective.

Good video. I agree with the pros and cons. The discipline to draw something daily definitely helped me. Some drawings are to be shared and some are just for the artist.

Nice work! My favorite so far is day 4 - “sky”. Great idea to mix the acrylic and gouache paint to create your own acrylagouache. I may try it, thanks for sharing. I’m not doing Inktober this year.

It’s possible to start an art career at any age 💪🏻. Being in your 30’s is young.

The sketchbook page was fixable. Would have been easier to fix of you were using acrylics as well

The first painting wasn’t that bad, but I truly get it. Love the second painting! 💛🍋💛 Sometimes when I mess up in my sketchbook I just leave it, other times I do the same thing and cover it. Nice video! 💕
