This video shows how to apply marzipan to a Christmas cake.
Pre heat two or three teaspoons of Apricot jam, (20 seconds in the Microwave)
Pre cut the rolled out Marzipan paste to fit, try this before applying the jam to the cake. I used 1kg of marzipan for a 10" diameter cake.
Apply a good coat of warm apricot jam to the cake surface.
Pop over the marzipan paste and gently press down to stick to the cake surface.
Finish off with a little water rubbed all over to smooth out the finish.
Icing is next in about 5 days.
