You can see the sadness in Michelle's eyes. I wouldn't blame her if she put that bronze in a box in the back of a closet. Seeing it would remind me of how disappointed I felt when they put it around my neck.
GOAT !!!!!!!!!!
Brilliant short. My favorite.
7 perfect 6.0 😊❤❤❤
Her skating is ethereal and timeless.
I remember Sarah.
Unlike the previous silver medal recipient(Kherigen), Michelle Kwan was definitely NOT a poor loser!
Do you have any idea what network this is?
The orchestral version of "The Star Spangled Banner" was appropriated dignified and electrifying. GOD BLESS YOU, TARA LIPINSKI! GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!
My always favorite skater and my favorite program….Absolutely Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
What happened to figure skating? They don't have this small competitions anymore. They should have a way to bring it back. Add two or three to help they skaters develop fan base and improve their skating skills before the next competition.
The best that ever was and the best that ever will be, nobody even comes close. The great Michelle Kwan 🌷. The G.O.A.T...
Her and Kristi Yamaguchi....queens of the ice. Pity that Kristi just couldn't master the triple salchow....Michelle did them all.
Michelle Kwan performed classical type of flawless and Tara Lipinski performed flawless - more like contemporary type of performance, so both SHOULD receive GOLD MEDALS.
Both Michelle Kwan and Tara Lipinski performed flawless performance, so both should receive GOLD MEDALS.
Simply amazing ❤
Over the years I have watched Michelle trying to see what everyone else does and I don’t see it , I see a fantastic skater , but skates as well as many many others , it is maddening as I try so hard to see it : but cannot . I am not up on figure skating but the only time I have been moved is by Sasha Cohen who I feel is a gift , But did not even win gold at worlds when Kwan and slutskya were absent . Lol
Because Sasha Cohen had to skate on crutches or she would fall everywhere on ice. 😅😅😅
The G.O.A.T...
22 years later and Sarah still gives me chills, what a skate
Fucking Satan
What the hell is this?!!!!! 😢
On the top a smiling real artist a kindly cool girl...On right and left ? 2 bitter robotic bitches souless unsportive and disrespectful !...
Mental toughness was inherently in M.K. She was born with it. Shes a fighter, a competitor, a Champion. Somebody American ladies skating desperately needs right now.
Oh my gosh, all of u raving about Michelle Kwan. This video is all about Sarah so give it up. Let’s show facts if Michelle was better than Sarah than explain why is she in 3rd place. You guys reach for air hot air that is lmao
You skate better when the pressure is less
If Michelle won.. would Tara have been graceful in loss? Character is shown in the tough times. I don't think so.
The real champions shine eternally with Olympic gold. and must receive our admiration The false champions who fire their coach and think they are superior lose every time at the games and all the fools lose and lament with them and spit on the real champions Nobody cares about the fools
Absolutely love Tara and how she skated! She deserved the Gold!
Tara skated like a happy puppy running in the park .😂😂😂 She deserved to win the 98 kid's Olympics. ❤❤❤
Tara's flip and lutz would be called out for under rotation today. Totally overrated. 😂😂😂
I think she should have brought this program back for the 1998 season and skated it in Nagano. If she had of skated this program in Nagano the same way she did here, she would have won gold. The spins, transitions, footwork, choreography were all much more difficult than her Lyrica Angelica program. Couple that with the phenomenal choreography and jumps and Tara’s program simply didn’t compare.
Unfortunately, Michelle got hurt ( her toes ) before the 98 Olympics so that she couldn't make triple triple combo there...... Lucky Tara had triple triple combo just for 2~3 years, Michelle had triple triple combo for almost 10 years.
An angel on ice.
Another performance ruined by an irritating inane commentator. I wish they would just shut up and let viewers enjoy the performance.
I love Michelle's Charlotte spiral.....when her finger touched the ice just like a kiss. 💋 It's very beautiful and difficult.
--- > I thought Michelle Kwan had the best long program. Sarah Hughes was really good but Michelle topped her in artistry and both of the other winners in innovation.. She was definitely better than Slutskaya.
Как были Американские варишки так и остались позорники
one of the worst laybacks in history ( except for Diana Poth)
Absolute perfection . The most electrifying skater to ever take the ice. The one and only Michelle Kwan. The G.O.A.T...
She was great here. ( But this isn't her best performance ) She got her 9th National titles here. She skated with her heart and passion, emotion....she did very hard for years and years. Her longevity was unreal and hard to close for the other skaters.
I never saw this. I wonder if this was the event where she injured her hip in that fall? This was a great skate...
Cameraman loves lu chen so much, the focus was literally on her. Can't blame him though!
Not my favorite. The music choice didn't work. It didn't come toegtehr and to me she didn't have the intensity that the music required. Also, her dress didn't work either.
she was a good skater.... just not enough for a olympic gold
Totally agree. Sarah never good enough to win any World champion or the National titles...... Sarah was just a Olympics Cinderella.
Was that Nicole Bobek beside Kwan’s sister?
Boy I can’t wait to see a biological male competing against biological girls in a little skirt like the ones being shown here!! 🤮🤮🤮
My heart just opens up watching this!
Thanks for uploading. Lovely to see how poised she was even at this young age. But for me, it's the fact she skated season after season after season that has given her a special place in my heart
My heart went out to Michelle ---------she showed such class & heart. But it was Sarah hughes night. That's all one can say. ------MJL,76 y/o
She skated everywhere and pulfilled her duties and as the biggest 🌟 on ice and inspired countless other skaters who became champion themselves. She dominated the sport during its most popular, controversial and competitive era in ladies skating. Won an unprecedented 48 World championship medals including 6 World titles ,2 Olympic medals and a record equalling 9 U.S. Championships. She still has the record of the most perfect scores in the last 6.0 scoring system. Between 1995 and 2005 every competition she entered, she was always the biggest draw, the biggest star and the biggest attraction, she was always the favourite to win. She was figure skating, The sport. During her long reign, she was the only athlete who was able to outrate the legendary Michael Jordan in the T.V. ratings in North America when she skated at U.S. Nationals. Quite simply, The G.O.A.T...
She so deserved/deserves to be an Olympic gold medalist.
Beauty, grace, elegance, power, passion, fire🔥, sophistication and control, class and Superstar presence on ice. We will never see another Michelle Kwan. Simply the best. The G.O.A.T...
Michelle Kwan was a joy to watch all the years of her skating career. A true "complete" skater. Here at the medal presentation she is showing incredible graciousness. She has my respect. Even though Tara lipinski was awarded the gold here, I do not think she was a complete skater. It was a youthful, athletic performance. Alina Zagitova at the same age showed much more polished skating maturity. Lipinski does not stick out as a memorable skater to me. Sometimes it isnt the best skaters who win the gold.
