With Zach Danziger and Lincoln Goines. August 26th, 1994. A rare sight of his Pensa-Suhr and an amp that I can't quite recognize.
WK playing with the Dan

Celebrating the fact that WK's releasing a new record this week...here's a potpurrí of tunes he did eons ago (Summer of 96) with the Dan in Manassas, VA. Let's see how long these last on here. They're usually taken down pretty quick. We'll see. Support him on patreon: www.patreon.com/WayneKrantz

Performing "Why". Happy Birthday, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart!!!
Even Wayne Krantz can't rescue the music from the interminable fuzak cheese that is Steely Dan
quite the vibe. I for one removed my shirt to listen
What's with the delay??
Wayne, you are more than capable of copying the signatures, sorry man, but you blew it trying to show your ass, just saying.
The mix is a bit like crap bit Wayne IS on top as always, very interesting video
He did mentioned some time ago that he didn´t like what the soundman did to his sound. Something about adding some chorus effect to it that he didn´t approve of or didn´t know about.
Wayne blocks people on his patreon even though he's the one with a bad attitude. He regularly loses members because of his attitude. The guy has a video of him shirtless on the front page of his website. He has some serious ego issues.
Hmm did you post this on another WK video? Seems he isn't the only one with issues 😄
Totally disrespecting the music is the guitarist.
He wrote the song
This is ridiculous.! So so good.!
I love Wayne but he's too much on the verses
Walter Becker plays the fills on the verses.
@@oldguywithpedals l don't know about that bud, that doesn't sound like Walter, and if it is, it's too much!
it’s Walter and it’s great
Somebody build Wayne the amp he deserves.
That's great!
My favorite trio.
I wonder who are the other musicians...
Nicki Parrott : double bass Lou Pallo : guitar John Colianni: piano
4:43 the Krantz shifts into God mode
Que modelo de guitarra es?
Pensa-Suhr made by Steve Marchione with Hot Rails pickups, I think.
What do you do when you have a first class band but one guy is even better than first class? I think all the shredding hides the fact that WK plays effortlessly over changes. Just a brilliant, unique guitar player.
Thanks for this.
Buckethead Krantz
I'm charmed my clip made it to the front of this little compilation! what a show
Amp looks like a Fender Twin or similar . This tune 'Shirts Off' is one of my favorite WK's but here it is still in significant different form, the version most know are form his now classic 1995 live '2 Drink Minimum'.
I was there, Nissan Pavillion, Summer 1996, Art Crimes Tour. The late great Ricky Lawson - drums, Tom Barney - bass, John Beasley - Keys, Wayne Krantz - guitar, Ari Ambrose and Cornelius Bumpus - Tenor Saxophones, Earl Cook, Jr. - Trumpet, Carolyn Leonheart - vocals... and...damn I forget who the other vocalists were...:( anyone?
Michelle Willey
@@ropiyas Correctamundo! Thanks for the reminder. Peace.
“The future…hmmm….that’s the thing that hasn’t happened yet, but is going to?” Nice.
One can certainly see why DF hired him….
Even brought him again to solo on "Morph The Cat". You could say he's on DF's speed dial.
Love this. You gotta be careful trying that Mike Stern leg thing. It has a way of sticking :)
lmao noticed that as well haha
The Art Crimes Tour. I was at Mansfield MA show...
👍👍👍
Was going through my catalog of bootlegs while working i had to stop everything and see who was ripping on my old school good lord that solo was some of the hottest licks ive heard in quite some time. Bless you brethren. I dont know if its uploaded but it was from this show. absolutely incredible stuff all night.
Stix Jenkins on drums? Nice.
The one and only! 🤣🙌🏻
C Bump kills it on the sax. RIP.
Always, baby!
Absolutely shredding
This is legendary!
those guitar voicings at 9:40 😍
The great Ricky Lawson on drums!
The Krantz with The Dan?!?!?! Now that’s just too wavy 🙌🏾
This is a nice time capsule to stumble into! Thanks for the post ♥️
I thought so too, myself. Glad you enjoyed it!
This is the coolest video…it’s like in “back to the future” when Marty mcFly introduces the 50’s to Ed Vanhalen….great to discover Wayne Krantz for me. My new favourite guitarist
You're right! I didn't notice that before! You're totally right! 😆 Great analogy, man. 👌🏼
Glad the interviewer finally started liking the album.... sheesh what a compliment 🙄
A gem in youtube hell, thx for uploading this
Indeed, man. 🙌🏻
Can we see the rest of this set? Thanks for uploading, man! Quite different vibe from the 2 Drink Minimum set.
The Marciac jazz festival version of this tune is also awesome! Have you listened to it?
kind of reminds me of the mahavishnu orchestra with john mclaughlin just a bit more mellower
wow! thank you
moore?
Amp looks like a Fender Super Reverb.
To me it looks like it's either a Twin-Reverb or a Pro-Reverb (they look almost identical from a distance) Super-Reverbs seems to be a little "taller". But you're probably right. He did mention (in one of his mp3 lessons) that he stored a "Super" at the 55 for a number of years.
@@everythingwk3090 Yeah, that's what I was thinking as well. Big Blackface Fender for sure and always sounds just like Wayne!!
It’s a Deluxe with no reverb. Saw him lots with this amp.
@@everythingwk3090 I think it's a blackface Twin Reverb; 4 knobs, 7 knobs, and the slanted text "Twin Reverb-Amp".
@@greatgooglymoogly we have a winner
2:25 the low B is a relatively rare sound in the WK universe. The LTBL score assumes a 5 string bass in just a handful of places. If I recall, Shirts Off was in the original score set, though I don't know if it's still included (e.g. bandcamp).
Thx for highlighting that. It jumped out at me for sure. Lovely.
That is just absolutely great playing, and the band too.
Masters
looks like thsi is the Šabac Int'l Blues and Jazz Festival in Šabac, Serbia.
Thank you!
Everyone thinks that Wayne has integrity because he covered up the guitar brand name with masking tape. In reality, he is sponsored by Scotch (tm). Anyway, thanks for the upload!
Lmao
I wondered about the tape. Hmmm. I dunno but it doesn’t matter.
He picked a sponsorship with 3M.
It is obnoxious decal 👌🏻 Wayne is killin
A modern day legend...
