I haven't played the old version so I may be biased but I liked the new version especially the sound design. It's really crisp and it can really get to you in some scenes. Too bad it doesn't run that great on steam deck which is the only console I have that can run this game

@@laytbludecky You are a real player Laytblu, playing everything on PC 😅 I am unable to play SH on PC lol, I did with "Obscure" but it was awful to beat the main boss at the end...with keyboard it took me one day LOL. I am the kind of woman who loves scare games, but freeze when fights are engaged ... 🤣 Have a lovely day. P.S. I have kept PS2 you can convert in PS1 with a special slot to be able to replay SH1 one day (it will hurt my eyes, so pixeled 🤓... I am an old generation of player 😉

@laytbludecky really? That's surprising, yeah, it really doesn't seem like it's doing all that much, that is disappointing. All the little minions must be heavier than they look

@Renteka-Bond yeah, i didnt know why the performance overlay disappeared after recording but the games hovers around 35-40+ on lowest settings

@@laytbludecky is the battery drain at least low? I've played a few games that refuse to run great but also only drain like 15w or lower at least. I'll have to take a look at some steam reviews too and see if it's just a general performance issue or maybe something with Linux

@@patricktobias4232 there were several performance issues reported on 3.16. i actually rolled back to 3.15

@@laytbludecky I'm fine with 3.16. I managed to install it via Steam but every time I run the installer it seems to log me out every time. But the performance issue I mentioned was gone.

Just adding here. I tried installing it using Lutris. Seems to run better than Bottles. Probably Lutris installs something that Bottles don't 🤔.

No idea. Try pressing and holding steam button, you should be able to use right trackpad to move the mouse

@laytbludecky i think the switch 2 will suffer some since now pc has entered the portable space....you can literally play switch games on a steamdeck or rog alley lol

What TDP are you using? I didn't make any tweaking, just used default rpcs3 settings

@@laytbludecky I didn't set a TDP limit at all. Checked RPCS3 settings, and I'm using Vulkan too. I tried cranking up the min frequencies of both CPU/GPU to their max values using PowerTools, and that seemed to improve it a bit, but neither are near full utilization and the framerate still fluctuates. Did you install RPCS3 through EmuDeck? If so, I might try restoring default settings and see if that works

@@laytbludecky ETA: Turning off SMT using PowerTools seems to have resolved it! Now it's running at a much more stable 30fps.

It's very good especially with mods. I'm running it at lock 45fps and I get 3+ hours gameplay. The only issue I have is it doesn't have gamepad support even though there's a console version.

You need to install it using protontricks. There are lot of tutorials in youtube how to do it
