Hello, I’m Josh, a music producer and multi-instrumentalist from Maine.
I started playing guitar when I was 8 and have been writing songs for most my life. I learned GarageBand in highschool and switched over to Ableton Live in grad school around 2017 when getting my MBA. I ended up using these skills to record my band “Quiet! The Giants” and released a full length album in 2020. I continued with my other band “Solobody” releasing singles throughout 2022.
In 2023 I started creating instrumentals and made a focused effort in improving my production skills. I dove deeper into jazz guitar, trying to dial in my technique and improve my knowledge of music theory. I learned how to make short form content showcasing the beats I was making and started making RUclips tutorials to share my knowledge.
Now, In 2024, my main effort is to make what ever inspires me without limits, experiment with different genres, and continue making my signature clean and catchy beats for you all to enjoy.

Sick! Quick and dirty refresher
Woah...tell us more about that periodic table of music you show at the 1 minute mark.
Sounds great, I love jamming in key A. Love all the percussion, nice mix. Keep it going.
Great breakdown, right pace and insights, thanks
Let's see part 3. You're on a roll. I'm gonna call it now. This channel is gonna blow up big time. If you're not at 5k subscribers in 3 months, and you're producing this sort of content, then youtube is doing you a disservice. Keep up the great work.
Sorry... I've had a rethink..... 10k+ subscribers in 6 months
I love the overthinking of the camera angle. You've a great attitude and I love your approach. Simple but very effective. Please keep 'em coming!!
Thank you!
Where's part two? Loving it!!

Here's part 2! Still editing part 3 but getting close.
Just hit the subcribe button! Good Content! Great Stuff
I have been watching RUclips tutorials for 10+ years and teaching myself home studio recording. I have never, ever seen the trick of recording two takes and then cutting it in half and dragging the second take below the first and creating a stereo image. Dude. This changes so much about my workflow holy crap.
Happy to help! This method certainly makes things much easier
Good information
🎉
Hey man, it's been really nice watching you work! I would definitely love a gear rundown of everything you use! Much love, and keep on making music!
Thank you! That’s a good idea, I’ll get on that!
Love the sound of your accoustic! And nice playing! Enjoy these ❤
Sounds great. B flat key? I was jamming to this for a bit, very catchy., Matbe I 'll put some words to it.? Keep creating, your very talented man!!
Thanks! Yes B flat. I’d love to hear what you come up with.
great tutorial! simple, easy to follow, thank you.
HE'S BACK
Thank you! I hope you create more videos soon, they're very useful
Yes and guys like Michael Schenker, Hide Matsumoto, Mike Ness show catchy, emotion melodic solos are superior and more memoroable than shredding.
Well done!
This is the best Scaler tutorial I have yet to see. Great job!! 👏🏾
Hoe sbout both
Thank you sir. You're a life saver! 🙏🏻💝
My morning started with your videos , and I watched all of them, which were really informative and enjoyable. I look forward to more videos and request that you make more tutorials for us😎. Thanks a lot.🙏🙏
Love this, especially the Strat tone. Did you use an amp sim for this? If so, which one / model?
Thanks! This is actually a real amp, my Marshal DSL40. I have it running through the Universal Audio OX box which takes the output on the amp head and does a cabinet/room sim.
subbed! i love your guitar sound
When i use the same settings My strat sound so extremly boxy. Can you help me?
Hmm it’s hard to say exactly what happening but I would check a few things. 1. Make sure you’re getting a clean DI signal. No clipping when going through your interface. Try different positions on your pickup selectors and check if your tone knobs aren’t causing it. 2. Check if you’re monitoring through your interface or through your DAW. Sometimes I accidentally have the signal coming through both and it causes a weird doubling sound. If you want to hear how Amplitube is effecting the signal make sure to monitor through your DAW only, and use as low a sample rate your computer can handle for the lowest latency. 3. Try different presets, or build your own by just picking an amp and try to tinker with settings until it sounds right. 4. If it still doesn’t sound right maybe uninstall and reinstall the plugin as a last resort Could definitely be something else causing it but those are something’s I would check first
smooooooth

Thanks!
I really like this track! I have been learning lo-fi after producing many other genres and am looking to add my guitar, bass, and drum playing into these productions. This type of stuff is very helpful and I will be coming back to this video for reference. Thanks for providing your insight!
Thanks! I’m glad you found it useful
Is using a chord generator cheating in a way?
Great video btw very likable person!
Yes and no, I used to feel that way about using samples, but if it can help you make better tracks and you can use it in a creative way then I’m game for it.
Learning music theory will get you further in music. You will do more with the software. You will learn things like secondary dominant, tritone substitution and so forth and how to use them just like the people who made the software. You will add more flavor quickly without trial and error. Knowing music theory might probably make you a better musician. Not saying you can't use the software.
No
Bro, using your brain is also kinda cheating if you think about it.
Great video!
I love your laid back approach to the tutorial! Also your guitar tone is super nice bro! I've got a similar sized channel and also talk a lot about my own lofi, let me know if you'd ever want to collab on a track or a video sometime 🙏
