One has to try to unpack the point of the ending to arrive at an informed assessment of the film’s overall merit, and indeed, of course it’s not something that we should have thought was coming, surely?

The film is a solid 5/5 for me… that being said the elephant in the room for me personally is the use of ai. I don’t think that should stop it from winning best picture, but if it doesn’t get disqualified for its ai use then i believe the academy should let’s films that are entirely made using ai enter! Those are just my personal views views. Again, if the academy even accepts the brutalist to run for any category they need to let ALL ai films enter. Seeing how the film has a $10 million dollar budget I also don’t understand why they would use ai?!?! I thought their reasoning was terrible. There are discussions about the amount of water ai uses and how bad it is for the environment. It’s 100% a blemish on the film entirely.

I just saw it last night and I really enjoyed it. The humour worked, Kang was a great threat, it felt consistent with the rest of the Ant-Man franchise, and it sets up Phase 5 in a very interesting way. Not for everybody, and I get why but for me it worked. Great video, keep them up 👍
