I love mine
i have had a few vehicles, one of them being an 01 celica gt stick shift. but my current car is the 2012 sonic hatch with the 1.8l 5 sp stick. i prefer the sonic.
I love the 04 pathfinder
I have a 2001 Pathfinder from Nissan and I wouldn't change it for nothing. The problem is that after 226,000 miles it still contains its original parts. Mechanics are amazed. It is perfect for me taking me from my home to New Jersey in all kinds of weather during the night. I love, love my car; I say truck. I got many tickets because that truck moves expecially on the highway. I was warned.
Best truck ever it don't call engine parts an goes every where that new models trucks can't go
Im thinking of buying one off fb marketplace 😊
Great review. These were a forgotten treasure IMO. It looks better than its competitors and was offered in a 6 speed manual V6 that sounded amazing. Cant say the same for the integra and celica.
I would've loved to have tried the V6 in this vehicle to see how much better/engaging it would be to drive. Thanks for the comment!
@drivecore2021 I have a V6, it's not fast but the V6 noise and the weight is very cool. I've never driven the 4 cylinder haha
Don't put anything in front of your radiator Wtf kind of advice is that
6:37 got me. I wasn't expecting to laugh. Good review. I was interested in these when I wanted to learn manual. I went with a 1st gen Mazda 3s sedan.
Those are also good cars. The can be reliable too as long as you got the 2.0L and not the 2.3L.
I paid $6000 for a good condition 2002 pathfinder, vq35de engine and front & rear lockers from the factory
Awesome! Really enjoyed this! Do you still have the pathfinder?
Sadly... I sold it about a year ago to help fund another project. Although it was a great vehicle (probably one of the best I've ever owned in terms of reliability), I barely used it. It just sat most of the time. Maybe I will get another one in the future.
I bought a tiburon 1 month ago and I cant get enough of it :,)
Probably because you can get a Nissan Armada for a couple thousand more.
Wow great new video! That's definitely a forgotten one. Everytime i think of your channel I think of the Celica video, another forgotten 💎 I'm glad this new one popped up on my feed I might not have noticed you uploaded a new one!
I have a generation 7 like in the video, it has 117,000 miles and runs great. It has never used oil, I just put new tires on it so I'm ready to run more miles on it. Also its black and shines and still turns heads.
Owner of both 1zz and 2zz......still have no interest in any other car
Just finished this series after acquiring a 99 Pathfinder in pretty decent condition given the price and age. You’ve given me inspiration to take on a lot of the same things, and hopefully I’ll be able to do as good as job on mine. Thanks for all the videos!
That's great to hear! I hope it will be a fun project with your new Pathfinder 🔧Thanks for sharing 😊
Very helpful information. Thank you!
You're very welcome!
I just picked one up a few months ago. 130k miles, 2 GRAND! Change the plugs & coil packs and vrrrooom.. were off! I love her so far, this is my 3rd Nissan!
You have rust problems ?
Not that I've noticed. The first gen really suffered from rust in the wheel arches.
After 2005 nissan went to the trash specially the 2008 nissans
I remember I used to see these in BC or when they came down here from BC. I thought it was interesting they sold this in Canada, but not the US. I don't understand why car manufacturers do these type of things. Like how they sold the Acura TSX in Europe as branded as a Honda Accord and with a wagon option while the US had its own version of the Honda Accord.
I own a 2001 Lexus rx300 and a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder Le. seems like to me the Pathfinder is built just a tad better ,it's more durable better material .The engine in the Pathfinder made the Best Engine in the World the VQ35de by WARDS LIST 8 STRAIGHT years!
If this car is only good to run around get groceries what about the early models EVs with only 70 miles of range? 100 km is only 62 miles and that is plenty for 250 range EV if you plug and charge at home. Even the awd with 212 mpg is fine
How did you align the friction plate using the alignment tool when there was no pilot bearing in behind it to use for alignment?
Yea. There is no pilot bearing. If I recall, I had to cut part of the alignment tool to help better center it.
@@drivecore2021 Seems like that would've been a useful detail to include if you ever decide to edit the video.
They have more reliable mechanicals than Chrysler/Fiat, Ford/Lincoln, GM, VW, Nissan, Subaru, Hyundai/Kia, and others. 😂
Something not many people talk about the R50 pathfinders and Nissans of this era is the visibility. One of the best for an SUV. I have an A33 Maxima (2001) and it has no blind spot whatsoever.
I equally have an LE 02 3.5 V6 runs great and purrs..huge fan . Apart from swirl control verve and leaking sun roof, it's easy to maintain. Although fuel ⛽ economy is off, expectedly. It's not boxy and big for nothing
Very well done
Thank you very much 😊
Top notch video. Keep it up!
Much appreciated! Thanks 😊
run premium gas and its plenty peppy off the line.. hwy gearing still sucks
I have a 2000 toyota celica gts with the 6 speed manual. I can atest to its amazing fuel economy as i can get 300+ miles of range on 93 octane while usually revving 2.5 to 3 thousand rpm. I i drove more fuel efficiently (via skipping gears) i could muster mabey 350 max.
5.4 is a good engine. 195k on mine. Never left me stranded. Good truck
Mine only failed me once when the radiator busted. Other than that, I don't want to get rid of it anytime soon. It's even a great family car.
Ahead of its time in terms of looks.
My 1997 XE 4WD looks a little battered, and I've had to replace all the rubber suspension components after decades in the Arizona sun and heat, but it is still a reliable vehicle. On occasions when I do take it off-road, folks with much-modified monsters are surprised and impressed how capable this bone-stock toy truck is. Thanks for you review!
Great Video... Thank you so much for the thorough details on how its done.
We have the same vehicle. Thanks for saving us a couple hundred dollars!! I had no idea we were paying that much.
I’m buying one this year 😊
Those rims were oem for the top tier civic es in the Philippines too. Loved them so much i placed them on my ek. 😊
Though I’ve never owned any car, the R50 Nissan Pathfinder is one of my two favourite older SUVs, along with the WJ Jeep Grand Cherokee (I have been in both before).
Thank you very much!
You're welcome!
I love my 2010 Mazda 3 hatchback, it may be a bit old but as far as I know it’s still runs great
To quote you at 2:47, the 5.4L only saw life in the Mustang in special models that we're sold in limited numbers and usually supercharged like some of the Shelby GT500s in the 2000s and early 2010's, 90% of the Mustangs on the road from that time though are powered by a 3v version of 4.6L V8.
Yo tuve el gts rojo en el 2001 6 speed y ahora tengo uno gt gris aut. Y uno negro std... Son muy buenos y económicos
Have a 2010 XL (most basic model). has 4x4 and 6.5 bed. It's never given me a problem.
I want to get one as my first car, don't really care about the passengers space, but as long as it's possible to fit 4 people should be good. I wanna do some rally mods to it aswell, and do a kind of safari/rally build.
I have an 03 LE and the cluster is finally starting to get some shenanigans but the drivetrain is solid as absolute fuck, I've taken it all over BC and Alberta. In -40 to +40 and it's been a beast.
Hiw is folding the seats down like this more of a process than any other. Its not.
I have a 99 R50 SE 4WD. Best car I've ever owned. Excellent in snow, cheap to maintain. 200K miles + and runs like it's new.
$2900 for my 99 in great condition. Not a 4wd or anything but it’s been running great so far !!
I just bought a 2004 pathfinder for 2000.00. It's my daily driver to n from work know. I had to replace the fuel filler tube, and that's about it.
