Hallmark's Twas the Date Before Christmas | Movie Recap & Review
Просмотров 76614 дней назад
Are you ready for some new Christmas movies? Well, they’re here! And last weekend alone we saw the premieres of 4 new ones between Hallmark Channel and Great American Family. The first one is Twas the Date Before Christmas. And I have to be honest, with a title like that I was not expecting too much. It’s literally about a woman looking for a blind date to spend Christmas Eve with her family. A...
Hallmark's Haunted Wedding | Movie Recap & Review
Просмотров 19321 день назад
For the fall season grand finale Hallmark Channel aired Haunted Wedding. It involves modern-day wedding planning, historical romance, ghosts, flash-backs, comedy. Yeah, they really packed a lot into this one. It’s about the adventures of a pair of ghost-hunters who fell in love and are planning their own wedding at an old haunted manor. But the ghost who resides at this manor doesn’t want anyon...
Hallmark's Autumn at Apple Hill | Movie Recap & Review

Last weekend Hallmark Channel premiered Autumn at Apple Hill starring Erin Cahill and Wes Brown. And for maybe the first 45 minutes to an hour or so of watching it I was on the fence about whether or not I was going to like this. I knew it had the potential to be great but depending on the direction it went that second hour it could also have been a bust for me. I have a lot more to say about w...
Hallmark's The Real West | Movie Recap & Review

The Real West stars one of my favorites, Kimberly Sustad, and Lucas Bryant. And wow, what an amazing pairing these two are! The chemistry was off the charts, and as for the acting, there were moments when no dialog was even necessary. The eyes said it all. This movie has some emotional moments where I kept a box of tissues handy. There were also some hilarious scenes and did I mention the inten...
Hallmark's Falling Together | Movie Recap & Review

Falling Together stars two Hallmark veterans, Ashley Williams and Paul Campbell. Ashley Williams’s character, Natallie, leaves her home in Miami to start a new job in Pittsburgh. And while she loves her new home, she notices right away that none of her new neighbors get along with each other. That bothers her because her old neighbors back in Miami were all a close-knit community and she wants ...

The Heiress and the Handyman is, perhaps, a story that’s been told before. A pampered, rich girl suddenly loses all her money and winds up living on a farm and has to adjust to a whole new way of life. June, played by Jodie Sweetin, is a woman who has never had to do anything for herself and is now responsible for everything in her life, including running a farm. Fortunately, she has the help o...
Hallmark's His & Hers | Movie Recap & Review

Are you a fan of Lacey Chabert and Brennen Elliott? Well, this past week Hallmark brought these two stars together again for their 10th movie! It’s called His and Hers, and it’s a little different from your typical rom-coms. The two stars play a couple of lawyers celebrating their 7th wedding anniversary. They happen to work for competing law firms. And if you’ve seen any of the previews you pr...
Hallmark's Head Over Heels | Movie Recap & Review

Hallmark is known for making rom-coms, but this week I’m not so sure the movie I watched necessarily fit in that category. It’s a cute story and there was definitely some character growth and development, but was it a love story? I mean if the two leads remained coworkers and had no romantic interest in one another, would that have changed the outcome of the story in any way? As usual, I have a...
Hallmark's The Magic of Lemon Drops | Movie Recap & Review

This week we watched another Hallmark movie with a touch of magic, but unlike the last few weeks this one had more of an alternate-reality theme. These are quite often some of my favorites. So, naturally, I was looking forward to this new one but also a little nervous that I might be setting my own expectations too high. Well, with a great cast, writer and director behind this one, can you blam...

It’s week 3 of Hallmark’s Summer Nights series in August. And my emotions were all over the place watching this week’s movie. It was filmed on location in Costa Rica, so the scenery was gorgeous. But everything that can go wrong leading up to this wedding, does! Including, getting lost in the jungle with all that you’d expect to find lurking inside. There’s a lot to unpack with this one which I...

If you thought Junebug was whimsical, with an imaginary 8-year-old child popping up everywhere, this week’s new movie tops it with an entire establishment called Dream Central! Of course I’ll be sharing my own thoughts in today’s recap and review of My Dreams of You. Do you love Hallma...

Hallmark's Blind Date Book Club | Movie Recap and Review
Despite the review, allow me to posit that this is one of the most romantic movies produced this year. It starts to build considerably with the second trip where Ava responds to Austen's committment to tag along with "okay great." Frankly her smile is enduring in that reply. Then, the honey tasting, apron string tieing with the romantic caveat of what drone would leave his queen, Ava assisting Ausren in lifting his apron off with the physical and emotional closeness therein, is strong evidence of a romantic connection, call it sparks or fireworks or whatever, just don't call it dull. Watched it again and again on my trip to Greece and each time I have enjoyed it. David. Please give it another chance.
Sara Drew delivers an award winning performance, a must see and recently added to Prime. Sara' performance is exceptionally convincing and captivating. David
Looking forward to more of the countdown. Eager to see whether or not any others are also some of my favorites. David
As someone who has seen the adaptations and has read the books, I don't expect much from Hallmark adaptations and this was delightfully well done and quite accurate. - The mom, although less present in the book too, definetely could've been better written and acted. - I love how they left in the youngest daughter because some leave her out. - They kinda rushed the engagement of Marrianne and the Colonel because the couple didn't really spent time together between her ilness and him proposing, so that kinda misses the connection they make. - I like the main couple they chose good actors for them. - No use explicit romantic scenes, which is normal from Hallmark, and I prefer that, but nowadays they tend tot do that, so not doing it is a win in my book. I'd really advice you to watch the 1995 S&S with Emma thompson and Hugh grant, that is a really good one. As for setting, I did spot some modern furniture lol😅
As we are used to, your video is brilliantly constructed and develops the pattern with a critical and precise sense, which I highly praise. I love that you hide some details to provoke your audience to appreciate the movie. I didn't react to your video of the last fall movie, because I was disappointed by Hallmark with that piece of junk. Now, starting our best time of the year, the beginning of this year was noticeably better than last year. All three Hallmark movies were great, I was surprised that in his closing remarks he made references to the films of the NEXT weekend and didn't comment on the other two from last weekend. All three are beautifully constructed and the one we are currently commenting on I consider the best of the three, “Scouting” is gorgeous and I put it in second place and “Xmas Crashers” in third, but still all three deserve a 4.0, or maybe in this particular case, I give it a 4.5. The entire ensemble cast was great and the female lead was particularly notable: Amy Groening has a long track record of being a supporting actress and in all of them she has made notable contributions (last year's “Miracle in Bethlehem PA” was excellent...as the “pregnant sister” of the primary protagonist). I really want to see more of her as a lead in more movies...she is sincere and beautiful, I love it. Robert Buckley has never been one of my favorites, his stint in “Chesepeake” was disastrous, but here he played a good role...very well developed. The fourth film, at GAF, was bland and slow...not even a 2.5 (although the two leads have been remarkable in other Hallmark films - except for the disaster in Costa Rica...the contrast with “Nutcracker” is incredible).
What do you mean by campy. I liked it and found it a unique story. I did find some of the characters problems done before, like don’t want to get hurt again by marrying him
One additional thought. More of a fan of Marlie than Kimberly and the two never seemed to connect as sisters. This issue seemed to be compounded when Marlie was summarily cast aside by the cowboy without reason other than his fancy for someone else. In this light, his character seemed to resemble something akin to a Peter Pan playboy ever seeking greener pastures. David
Fast becoming one of my favorites. Best Wes Brown role, in that he was so charming and humorous. Apart from Random Acts of Christmas, my favorite Erin Cahill role. Even the initial meet was, in my opinion, delightfully playful. I note that Luke was not in the least put off by what one might say was Elise's pushy behavior. The "I take it that was Elise" reference underscores this premise. Highly enjoyed from beginning to end, a solid 5. David 10/13/1:16 am
Great video. I share your appraisal 100%. More comments later
Oh no, not a 5, maybe a 3. Nonetheless the hat selection scene was initially captivating. For me, that initial spark fizzled. The cowboy's flirtatious behavior in the beginning when he was supposedly romantically involved was later disconcerting and the mom should have been more honest and forthcoming with her sister. Like Humpty Dumpty the pieces never seemed to come together in a rational manner.
Loved this movie. I put in a note to tell me when it’s on again. Can’t wait until the next time it’s on. 11:41
Cruel evaluation, but what a fun video you have produced. The worst Hallmark movie of this year, was worthy of the best video from you. The comments have been accurate (but infinitely amusing) to the superficiality of the plot, the sadness of the characters, the infinite poverty in the setting...but the image of you with the wig of the protagonist in the middle of her thoughts and the ridiculous premise of the apple-pie fiasco were the final dagger to all this tragedy and I have been very amused by the creativity of your “cruel” evaluations. I don't even give it a 1 rating. The story has many Hallmark precedents, the millionaire who loses everything and is suddenly forced to live on a farm is reminiscent of one of my all time Hallmark favorites: HARVEST MOON. I would love it if you could appreciate it and set up contrasts...in this movie JESSY SCHRAM develops her character with remarkable dynamics and ends up doing the opposite of the “Heiress”...she manages to develop a remarkable skin care product from a vernacular ingredient that exists on her farm and revives a farm that was on the verge of dying and does it by teaming up with the community....One of my all time favorites, I think I've seen it at least 20 times....
Thank you, and if you only knew what I went through to get this one posted today! I am so glad you enjoyed my "cruel" assessment of this one. I wasn't entirely sure how well it would be received. I thought about making some comparisons to Harvest Moon because I absolutely agree it is a MUCH better movie with a similar premise about a rich girl losing everything and winding up on a farm. The characters in that one were so much better and, to be honest, the types of people I would love to have as my own friends. And yes, the way Jessy Schram's character helps the farm and the family living there with the skin care line is exactly the type of ending I had hoped for with Heiress.
@@MagicalMovieClub It was a realistic, sincere, direct and precise evaluation...all your points were clearly developed, but above all, I laughed out loud with your comments, because you did NOT hold anything back (horrible wig included)...Congratulations. PS1: The movie “Falling Together” is a beauty, in the Top3 with “Branching out”. PS2: please watch “Harvest Moon” (2015).
@@MagicalMovieClub How bad can a movie be, that the award for best performance goes to that wonderful pig?
This movie was great!! I have tried for the past year to see this movie from the beginning and last night was the time!! I have always wondered how Garth knew Emily and I got my answer. I am amazed at dogs and wish I had one. When Garth saw Emily at the hospital he realized it was her and acknowledged She seemed afraid..... Such a good movie. I'm glad I finally saw the whole thing....
Not a.fan of Lacy but do love Jill Wagner, Nikki DeLoach, AllisonSweeny, Ashley Williams, and Emilie Ullerup, but not Lacy.
Not a fan of Lacy Cha ert.
Yes i do love The Hallmark Movie channel because it has too of my favorite TV shows Monk and Psych on it and i have been watching brand new TV shows on The Hallmark Channel just for fun and I am a new subscriber as well:).
This movie is on Prime now and, in my opinion, well worth the watch. It is a sweet, slightly subdued, love story. I find watching the film right before retiring at night a delight. 5 Stars.
Your review was spot on. I watched this twice, hoping, almost praying, that there was something that I missed. Despite the fact that I adore the two main characters, the romance missed the mark. 3 stars and that I believe is kind.
Your review was extremely helpful for me. Not wild about the premise, my initial thought was to pass. The ensemble was extraordinary and engaging. I thought the ending needed more development. Would not rate it quite as high, although well worth additional viewings. 4.5.
Dear DAVID...Your review is very correct and pertinent. The movie, its plot, the characters, the quality of acting and its technical workmanship is so good that maybe the ending could have been more elaborated...it is the curse of the 84 effective minutes of all Hallmark movies, in this one especially, we would well wish for a development and extension in the style of an Indian Bollywood movie of maybe three hours...
Today we did not agree. I liked it a lot, without exaggerating. Although the characterization of the protagonists is well done, that tour guide could not be more inept hahahaha, that image does not look like C. Russell. The movie is full of funny moments and very well done technically, as the scenes in the jungle, the slips and above all, the mischievousness of the monkeys. I definitely don't put it on a pedestal, but I don't give it a 2.0 rating either. I give it 3.5 and I think it's worth it. Hallmark has had several flukes this season, but this one beats the average. At least it has inspired me to watch “Branching out” one more time (I'm past ten views). Rhiannon Fish is adorable, what about "My Norwegian Holiday"???
Not at all surprised that we did not agree this week, and that can be fun, too. I'm certainly glad you enjoyed it. I was noticing even the IMDB ratings were all over the place. One review I read was an 8, the next was a 3, followed by a 10 and then a 1!
Rhiannon Fish is adorable. She deserves a much better role. Hoped for more "Nikki and Nora: Sister Sleuths" movies with Hunter King. Look forward to your review of "The Magic Lemon Drops" You must have really liked it.
Thank you, working on that video now! 😀
My take was a little different. However, I did enjoy it more before your review than after. I found the main characters engaging and the business partner of the female lead wonderful. Movies where she is the main character are some of my favorites. One cannot extrapolate from the data presented that the operation was a puppy mill. Clearly some wrinkles, but overal welll worth watching. 3.5 stars. David
My initial impression was to pass on this. However, after your review I decided to give it a try. It was a wonderful movie and Sarah Drew is a delight. Yet, Sarah's performance was not quite as strong as it was in Guiding Emily. Her charm and personality and range of development in that movie was almost without equal. For me, the chemistry between the main characters was much less. Nonetheless, well worth a second view. 4 stars. David
My initial assessment was to pass. However, based on your 4 star review, I gave it a try. Nonetheless after 30 minutes it was a no go. Previous commentator was solid, both previous themed movies were far superior and those I would rank a 3. I found something dark about dream central and mental manipulation that was slightly disturbing. David
I can certainly understand that, too. Hopefully, this next movie coming up will be much better!
Your assessment was spot on. The opening was awful. The romantic interest was lukewarm. I am not a fan of an explosive romantic epiphany at the end and prefer a relationship that builds. The first aid and hammock scene was touching, but crossing the bridge had so much potential for a romantic spark, that did not do so. Void of a charming or interesting side story or characters. I watched it twice hoping for a different result, sadly not so. Two stars are high, although 3.5 on prime. David
It was everything beautiful in one movie, i can't stop watching it❤❤
Junebug may be my new favorite, I will give it time. I believe this to be Autumn Reeser's best performance and just captivating. The little girl's performance was priceless. I thought the main pairing was much improved over others. Autumn's vocal quality is simply melodic and a treat to listen to. Forget the male character (tounge and cheek) the charming and playful interaction between mature and young Junebugs warrants repeated watchings. 5 stars, easy. David
One Royal Holiday is my absolute favorite, my go to movie when i cannot decide on another for either travel or time on the treadmill. Literally dozens of watches. The pre and post carriage ride, the pracrice and final waltz scenes are among the most romantic and charming of all Hallmark movies. The intimacy is just so skillfully developed. The playful interaction among all the characters elevates the experience. Oddly, Christmas Getaway is my second favorite, was first before One Royal Holiday. Bridget Regan's performance was stellar and who would not fall in love with Raven Stewart as Katy. Once again the carefully crafted intimacy simply draws one in in an authenic manner. I found the ending just delightful Both movies I purchased before they came out on prime and I continue to enjoy them. David
I'm so glad you enjoyed these as much as I did!
I very much agree with your rating. However, I have to say that the first half of the movie bored me a lot, the second half I loved it and the ending was great. It definitely gets high marks for the creativity of the story, but maybe the actors could have been better. Without going any further, Becky the older sister, I would have liked them to switch roles with the main character. This actress, Erica Deutschman, has (as far as I know) one movie with her as the lead on Hallmark and she is fabulous (Cheerful Xmas one of my favs in the genre) and I would have liked her better as the lead in this one. Overall, very good movie and I applaud the philosophical reflection in your review. To my taste, JUNEBUG was better. Spoiler: You are going to like the movie in my neighborhood in Costa Rica. It has outstanding visuals, photography, handling of exteriors and non-human protagonists that steal the show (it has been available for days on the streaming platform).
Nice! As a matter of fact, I'm queuing up the next one in Costa Rica now.
Two movies with a similar premise that are far better than this one are " Timeless Love" and "In My Dreams". Both are on Hallmark Movies Now.
Thanks for the recommendations! I'll look them up.
100% agreed with "Timeless Love" with Rachel Skarsten...masterpiece!!!
I appreciate your evaluation and congratulate you on the craftsmanship of the video and review. I didn't have that problem of keeping my attention, the story grabbed me from the first moment because of the construction/evolution of the characters. The idea of the connection with her "inner child" in a moment of life jam (the fateful 40th birthday) is brilliantly developed, and both protagonists carry it out brilliantly (child/adult). We are both fans of Autumn Reeser, there is practically no movie of hers that doesn't have 4 to 5 stars (using your scale), she is sincere and direct...I love her style and the frankness how she takes on her characters in accordance with their strengths. It's no wonder that the two best movies in the Wedding Veil are both of hers. All the main characters deserve a high rating (including that comical cameo by Cupo as the waiter), the plot is well constructed and even the car (that wonderful VW 1974 cabriolet) has personality. My rating is 4.75 for Junebug. Did you know that Autumn's Hallmark debut was with Antonio Cupo in the wonderful movie "Love at Thanksgiving Parade" in 2012...if you haven't seen it, I recommend it, it's wonderful. PS Have you seen "Nutcracker Operation"?
I did not know that about Autumn Reeser and now I will have to go watch that one. 2012 - wow that goes back awhile! I just found it on Hallmark Movies Now. Thanks for the tip. Oh, and yes, I did watch Operation Nutcracker and I enjoyed it very much. I haven't had a chance to make a video about it, but I just loved the chemistry between the characters and I got a little choked up with how everything worked out for the little girl.
@@MagicalMovieClub jajajaja I am in my late fifties...
I always enjoy your videos. This week, I have to say it also bugs me when they have empty cups. It doesn’t have to be real coffee or tea, it doesn’t have to be full but there should be something in the cup. I’m so glad to know I’m not the only one who notices this. Keep up the good work! I love that you really share your opinion. We don’t like everything we see and there is a way to say it. I love that you say your opinions and are welcome to read the opinions of others. I just wish everyone could do that. You are doing a great job.
100% agreed...
Hahaha, so I'm not the only one who feels that way about empty paper cups! And thank you so much for the kind and encouraging words. That is exactly what I hoped this channel would be all about!🥰
I'm guessing that your audience for this critique is people who only watch modern Hallmark movies and have never watched period pieces. I suppose it was a completely unbiased review, but it seemed strange that the reviewer had not only not read the book but also hadn't seen any of the other adaptations, so the comments on the characters and the plot were sometimes odd. I think a better-informed knowledge of period pieces would help would-be watchers have a better understanding of what to expect in a period movie. I have not seen this adaptation which is a reimagining, but I have read the book and seen other adaptations. I'm interested in seeing this reimagining. The clips looked good. All of the Jane Austen adaptations have merits and demerits (except for the latest version of Persuasion, which was a travesty) and it's interesting to see the different interpretations. Of course, reading the book adds to a viewer's appreciation of the adaptations.
I appreciate your feedback and, you're right, I was speaking from the viewpoint of a modern Hallmark movie-watcher.
In your video of XMAS H-Movies 4 definitely talk about what ROYAL HOLIDAY appreciated would be unnecessary, I already mentioned it before and I loved the reference to the "single" that the protagonists recorded. Your note is excellent and highlights the goodness of all the details of the film and its characters, for my taste is my TOP1 (the dialogue of the moment of treatment to the royal family is superb, especially the reference to the extra towels hahahaha). My only divergence is the evaluation of the role of the "mayoress", for me is a sparkling and cheerful character that contributes positively to the plot, besides her romance with that "powerful" security chief is very nice. The dialogues between JJ and her make good points in the plot. The other two movies are good, but not remarkable to my taste. Particularly in the third one mentioned, the life-changing plot doesn't feel as well developed as Lacey Chabert's FAMILY FOR XMAS (I confess I only saw it on its premiere, in honor of your mention, I'm going to revisit it). I just hope my Hallmark favs for Christmas make your list: the "Holidays" pairing: Heildelberg and Norway and especially "XMAS SECRET" (with Bethany Joy Lenz).
Waiting waiting for your JUNEBUG review....

Well crafted video again, and with the fav of favs in XMAS Hallmark: One Royal Holiday. I will come back later with more details... Spoiler alert: JUNEBUG is a GEM!
Thank you for your review 😊
I was in this movie! Have yet to actually watch it to be honest..
Once again I must congratulate you on your third Hallmark Christmas movie review, it is really well balanced and the narrative is very enlightening. In my case, I am a veteran of the subject and yet I detect notable hits and some omissions, but the end result is entertaining and instructive. My most sincere congratulations. In this case, the three selected for this video are of my knowledge and appreciation. "Xmas Club" is great in the development of the main and secondary characters. Being a father of a balletist daughter, the theme strikes me to the core. The main character's family (Mathison) is great and so is the main character's daughter. I'm left wondering why Hannukka's gift to the co-worker, is she an Afro-Descendant Jew? It's an interesting topic to explore given that years ago I had the honor of learning about the history of the Afro-descendant Jewish tribe in Ethiopia/Eritrea at an event in Israel (my roommate at the Kibbutz). I even met the pope equivalent figure of this religious sect, whose headquarters is in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. In Lacey's film your story lost an important element...the participation of one of the best known Italian actors of the "Cinecita" action movies...the great FRANCO NERO (the owner of the pottery factory). It is remarkable how Lacey gets for his films actors of this renown for supporting roles (remember the spectacular role of Jane Seymour in another Hallmark classic). The movie in the "Evergreen" series is very good, maybe not as charming as the first one (with Ashley Greene), but very well done. The development of the romantic premise is very light and Jill Wagner is not one of my favorites, here I feel the character is a bit stiff and the "superhandiman" is more believable; to my taste I would have selected the third in the series (with Maggie Lawson and Paul Greene). The funny thing is that by chance, on a recent trip to Vancouver, I realized that the four movies of the "Evergreen" saga were filmed not in Vermont, but in a charming little town on the outskirts of this city, very close to the cold beaches of the bay, called Burnaby, which is a marvel, and thanks to Hallmark is now a tourist destination. The cafe and library are real and I had one of the best apple ciders I can remember.
You have shown to have such amazing insight to share and this is no exception! I had a feeling Franco Nero was pretty big but I had no personal knowledge of him other than he was fantastic and has a fabulous screen-presence in Christmas in Rome. And I love that you have a daughter who dances ballet. I have two boys so it was all sports and marching band in our house. You are clearly far more world-traveled than I, and I enjoy reading about your experiences, particularly in learning about the “Afro-descendant Jewish tribe in Ethiopia/Eritrea at an event in Israel.” Now that my boys are grown I hope to be able to travel more, and Burnaby is definitely now on my list, too. Being closer to the west coast, as I am, that shouldn’t be too difficult to go see. Thank you for sharing, as always!
@@MagicalMovieClub I am pleased to tell you that this afternoon I went back to see "Xmas in Rome" (I think this is the fourth time I've enjoyed it) and I was reaffirmed by the concepts of your video, plus every line assigned to Franco Nero is quasi-philosophical. It really is a great film full of great nuances and remarkable views of Rome. Sam Page has done few productions for Hallmark, but they are all brilliant, I feel he should get more opportunities. Outside of Hallmark, the character of "Richard" in "The Bold Type" series was delightful. The concept of the "cafe in suspense" is beautiful. I have flipped the coin nine times in Trevi and have always returned (I confess I didn't know the story of the three coins), there is a small "gelateria" in front of the fountain, on your right if you are facing the main façade, there you can buy a "gelato in suspense" in the summer season for the indigent and that guarantees, according to the grandmother who owns the gelateria, prosperity on your return home for the person who donates the gelato. The scenes in the bakery are great...
I went to Prague with my family last year for Christmas. I think you'll enjoy it but dress with layers (maybe even with thermals) because it was very cold!
Nice! And thanks for the tip, I'll be shopping for deals on thermals as soon as the winter clothes come out.
Watched it again last night and the comment that there was "absolutely no romance, none" is counter to my take. The initial playful banter, including the pushed book off the desk, the shared intimate communication with the walks, including taking her hand for one, the kiss, the trip catching incident, the closing scene with what I took as playful (you could have texted) were clearly Romantic. My take on your "work not Ava" line differs. He put tenure on hold for her and it was the proposal that brought him back, his proposal that no doubt was included just for this reason to return. I enjoy this more each time I watch, since 5 stars. David
I am fascinated by your comments and appreciate your viewpoint. I know there have been many movies which I have learned to enjoy over time. I'm certainly open to watching it again through your eyes, so to speak, to see if my opinion softens on this one.
Sick of Hallmark movies now promoting the lgbtq agenda. Change the movies from Christmas movies to satanas movies.
My take was quite different. This is currently one of my favorite Andrew Walker movies. I have watched this repeatedly, usually late at night. Thought Margaret Clunie's character started out a little flat, yet her charm, personality, and attractivess rose considerably. Avoid polarized statements such as no romance. My view was that the lines were underplayed and meant to be playful (could have just texted). A reverse hyperbole. Loved the supporting cast, secondary story lines, and rather clever uses of humor. Overall I will watch this again and again. 4.5
I really must congratulate for the two videos of "Xmas Hallmark", coincidentally between them you have selected 4 cases that I already knew and two that I didn't, one in each video. I immediately focused on watching those two cases... "Xmas at the Starlink" and "Xmas under the Stars", the first one I got and enjoyed before the disgrace of "Snowflakes" and the impact on this last one was brutal and devastating. I practically only finished watching "Snowflakes" to contrast it with your comments in the video review. Everything absolutely everything that you highlighted as relevant in "Starlink" is what miserably undercuts "Snowflakes". I will watch the other pending movie today and in it I am surprised that I didn't know her, I love Autumn Reeser. SPOILER ALERT, the movie "Operation Nutcracker" (not yet available on the channel, but available on Hallmark Media) is great, brilliant, emotional...beautiful. It is the opposite of "Snowflakes". I hope my two favorites make it to your "Xmas Hallmark" list: ONE ROYAL HOLIDAY and THE XMAS SECRET (with Bethany Joy-Lenz) ...
Thank you, I appreciate that! And I'm really sorry you ended up watching those two movies in that order. I couldn't help but laugh a little because you're absolutely right - what a stark contrast! Oh, and thank you for reminding me about Operation Nutcracker. I haven't watched it, yet, but I plan to soon!
@@MagicalMovieClub I already saw the second one...I loved 90% of it...the ending felt a bit rushed...how would a purchase of financial debt with a hint of fraud work? I don't understand that arrangement...and the evolution towards the happy ending was nice but a bit shaky. The plot drawing of the 5 characters was remarkable, I loved the Christmas tree salesman and Nick's father, and the new family with the child was brilliant....
Absolutely luved this movie...I felt the 5 characters really shined n enjoyed their character development...❤❤❤
No doubt, a superb production. Nonetheless I find the pathos so powerful that it is emotionally tasking. I have watched this film repeatedly and need to be more centered when I do so. I prefer a little more fantasy than reality. I wanted Emily to dump the boyfriend earlier and with more penash. So 4.5. David

Loved this movie so much. Thanks Hallmark ❤
