The video is good, but the title is misleading, and the content hasn’t aged well. Most of the commentators and their views (except Lord Singh) are now outdated. It's straightforward - when you migrate to another country, you adapt, and naturally, some 'old Sikh' traditions fade, especially as they’ve evolved in India by 2024. While discrimination existed and still exists (just like in India), any reasonably educated white English person knows what Sikhs contributed to Britain and holds great respect for us.

@@Shri spoken like a true hindustani moron a devoid of any knowledge of Sikhs and their politics of struggle. The vast majority of Sikhs in 1940s wanted an azad punjab free from foreign rule be it islamic, british or any other. The british christian imperialists were dangling prospect of Sikh independence of their own homeland as was the case prior to them invading and colonising punjab but in all realistic terms they weren't really serious about it as the british wanted to cater for majorities i.e muslims and hindus. So when the round table talks started the Sikh leadership under master tara singh had been assured and hood winked by indian congress party that they can have a semi autonomous region in north india in the indian union where Sikhs can politically and religiously rule themselves. When after 1947 split and genocide of punjab happened and Sikhs feeling at least they have hindu brothers to look after their rights and needs started to feel betrayal of indian congress party whom was full of religious hindu and secular atheist hindu ministers. Even the indian constitution drawn up by congress party stated Sikhs are keshdhari hindus. Only then did the khalistan movement started against indian union... prior to that the khalistan movement was used as a threat by the very same leader master tara singh of akali dal against Jinnah's demand for islamic pakistan. Jinnah a former congressi and secularist only demanded a separate pakistan after a secret meeting with british prime minister winston Churchill who egged jinnah on to split india up after british would leave. So only after the broken promises and assurances did the whole khalistan demand start against india which grew in strength after operation blue star as even moderate and liberal Sikhs joined in whereas it was mostly only tiny number of dedicated amritdhari khalsa and politically militant type sikhs who wanted it.

Very interesting how this word "sanatan" has been hijacked to normalise its use to mean hindu. Truth is it is not! It is a word that means eternal! Truth is of course eternal, it was used before being hijacked like the word " brahm" to add an air of spritually elevated status to the word used to describe a caste... "brahmin" or as they would probably prefer "brahman". Truth is we are all minions to that one great brahm.. "parabraham" or "parambrahman" to use slightly different words meaning the same. After all there is only "one". Those that attain an elevated spiritual being is "brahm", a number of factors, not just being born into a caste. What the Sikh Gurus made perfectly clear! Moreover it is a word that never appeared in the Vedas! It srarted being used in the Bhagvad Gita and refers to "knowledge of the soul" and as a consequence actual describes what Sikh dharm or Sikhi is! Being Sikh is sanatan, realisation/knowledge of the soul! Which anyone can call themselves having/had realisation/knowledge of the soul (the eternal). The truth can be found everywhere if one looks! Dharma as per Sikhi has always existed! Those that attained it/lived it were a select number. Sikh Gurus hid nothing and made it/known to everyone. Whether you are christian, hindu, muslim or any other religion, faith, tribe there is something to help all! Sikhi is very simply - for the world! 🙏 As for the word "shrestha"... Śrēṣṭha (Newar: श्रेष्ठ) is a Nepali surname, which means "most excellent” or "great” in Sanskrit.[1] It is one of the eponym surnames used by those belonging to the caste of Shresthas who prior to the unification of modern Nepal formed the ruling and administrative castes in the court of the Malla kings of Nepal.[2] They also counted among them the trading and business castes, and were the pre-eminent traders in between Nepal and Tibet. After the unification of Nepal, Shresthas took up business and trading since their former positions as administrators and courtiers of the royal Malla court was supplanted by the invading Gorkha forces mainly of the Khas tribe.[3] Please do your own research. Dont take my word for anything. Please forgive for any mistakes. Sure there are many. No offense intended! 🙏

What is not true? Please do not unnecessarily become defensive, what are you responding to? 🙏 No one has said anything bad or untoward to any members of the 3HO sangat! Yes Yogi Bhajan unfortunately is marred by controversy? Including many who lost their personal wealth and revelations by Premka in her book 'White Bird in a Golden Cage:My Life with...". There's also many so called "babeh" who have only brought themselves (not 'Sikhi') into disrepute tarnishing the Sikh name by association. Hence why Guru Granth Sahib Ji (baani), contemplation, contentment and truth should always be our focus! All religions/faiths have aspects of truth. No single religion has a "monopoly on it". Many come, many go fashioning their own interpretations. As for what YB did, abuses (allegedly) and practices incorporated, methods used to create translations, indian government and ashram ties, sgpc controversy, his roots/origins, timing, wealth and where it went not for me personally to discuss or dwell on! Areas for people to research themselves if interested. Several documentaries, podcasts out there! One thing will add - he did through his links/relationships fostered over time with well to do, rich and famous bring Sikhi to prominence. There's many that know of the power of Sikhi through Gurus Grace/True Jagat Guru of this world (even beyond this world, countless worlds) even if they chose/choose not to speak of it for what ever reason. More people know of it then they let on (in my experience/opinion). In most part can this be put down to 3HO? Have many people been put onto the path? We are all on our journey! Personally one is sure many have attained spirituality and enlightenment, truth crosses race, colour, creed and borders! No person is better or more than another! Easy to focus on negative but we should be focusing on positive and be grateful for those who are on their journey, realising or realised the divine, found spirituality, enlightenment or yet to discover it. I am not good, no one is bad. - english translation, pangtee from SGGS Jee (Ang 728, please use Sikhitothemax or other to find). We should all spend more time focusing on ourselves rather than others. Please forgive me for all mistakes, sure there are many. No offense intended or implied. Soory if i've upset anyone. I am no one, just the dust beneath the feet of everyone! Again please forgive me if offended. ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ | ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਹਿ || 🙏🙏🙏🙏
