if Secret Wars ends with having Tobey Maguire Spiderman surviving, this should be his send off scene with this music and just saying goodbye to this Spiderman as it is an end of era for Marvel, Blade may have started the trend of big Marvel movies but Spiderman 1,2, and 3 really kindred the fire that later led to the MCU being made.

I love how this scene has both a triumphant (Spider-Man's final swing, the "Go get 'em tiger" line and both Peter and Mary Jane finally getting together) and a wistful feel to it (the last lingering shot of Mary Jane as she becomes concerned both about Peter and the future of their relationship). When superhero movies were true cinematic art.

How I feel to say bye to Mrs Murray

All these Marvel movies coming out today just dont make me feel the same way these Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies made me feel. I know i know maybe cos im not a kid anymore but I genuinely believe the Sam Raimi Spider Man films were amongst if not the greatest Super Hero films ever!

The triumphant score, the exaggerated poses, the carefree swings, the sunset setting, all of this coming right after what may be Peter's greatest win... This ending has "awesome" written all over it. Even with the bittersweet note when the scene cuts back to MJ, this is one of the greatest endings to a superhero movie ever. "Go get 'em, tiger" indeed.

Instead of ending on Spider-Man’s triumphant swing, it ends on MJ’s worried face. This is the kind of thing that elevates this movie from a good one to a great one.

20 years ago on this day this magnificent movie came out. I was only 4 years old at the time but I remember seeing this movie a lot in my childhood and even still to this day as an adult. Truly to me the best live action Spider-Man movie ever made and it’s not even close. Happy 20th anniversary Spider-Man 2. Man I can’t believe 20 years have already flown by with this masterpiece. It still looks incredible to this day.

I can't help thinking of him being left in the middle of a vast desert with no tall buildings around. Of course, that should be a rubbish story,though.

This movie and this whole ending, including the wistful look on her face, is the closest the movies came to capturing the realistic mood and sorrowful drama that Steve Ditko put into the character when he plotted and drew those initial issues , (before Lee and Romita turned it into Archie, Betty and Veronica). Loved Sam Rami's work on these first two movies.
