It seems like hazbin hell is different from the actual bible hell. I mean, im not religious, so i know nothing about Christianity. But aren't the people who go to hell, have a valid reason? Like the worst of the worst people are down there. Even most of the characters they show are... pretty darn bad. Sure, they're not just straight up evil. But you can say the same for actually bad people. There could be a guy who murders people, but hey, he doesn't hurt animals! Like just because they have some good in them doesn't outweigh the bad. The shows lore is a bit confusing.
Hell in the actual bible is a little absurd. The bible describes the experience of hell, but how it works and what it looks like is very hard to trace. It’s definitely not like the hell that half of pop-culture represents it as, I’d say its much worse, but its hard to know for sure what its supposed to look like in theory.
@justfandomtings true, it takes a lot of artistic liberties, which is fine obvi! And yeah, I guess canonically the angels didn't know themselves what gets someone into heaven. Maybe these ideas will be expanded upon in future seasons? Anyway my point is more like isn't hell supposed to be something to scare mortal people with so that they behave well? So like if hell becomes chill then how do we get people on earth to behave. Idk if that's the purpose hell is supposed to serve in the show since they didn't really talk abt it, I just made this assumption based on how it works irl

Purpose is something people make, the universe itself has no purpose, and to impose purpose on it is the arrogance of humans and the occasional false god. If hell loses it's purpose, then what changes? What has become negative? Also, people react to fear differently and there is no single reaction to it. Some people, knowing they're screwed, go farther into sinful actions because people are pressuring them. Why do you think religious history is full of war, if fear "works"? It doesn't. It's just barbarism and fetishistic sadism on the part of the enforcer. Also all changes have consequences, standing by and not stopping torture is considered a sin. AND a crime.
