he was an insane character at times, but i found his character incredibly relatable in the later seasons. he had a depression and insecurity that wasn't made completely obvious (it felt obvious but i don't think many people picked up on it) and it really screws with your behaviors and sense of self. lmao as a blaine fan, i want to reiterate that we are watching all these characters through a very critical lens. the show's writing have characters behave stupidly for the fun of it sometimes, and he's not an inherently bad or toxic person for being an emotional teenager with periodic selfish ambitions. id argue that most people do shitty things sometimes to the people they love and WHILE THERE IS A LINE, it's pretty normal as long as you talk and reconcile and get past it healthily. anyway LOL i know it's a silly video but some of the full blown haters in the comments make me sad </3 he's just a little guy. love these videos because they are hilarious but it's urging me to make a more serious character study video on him. if i knew how to record the show, edit, and had time maybe haha

Drives me crazy when fans think characters need to be perfectly morally sound to be a good character. Sure he has questionable moments but Artie has always been one of my faves.

I don't get all the Artie hate because other characters have done/said far worse things. He is just problematic but remember he is a teenage boy and the stuff he says is meant to be FUNNY. Remember, Glee was a comedy??

To his defense though, a lot of these scenes are taken completely out of context. Like 5:07 with the whole “I really want to but I can’t” exchange with Finn, of course that sounds creepy. But if you watched the whole episode you’d know it was about Finn kissing his fiancée when she had a panic attack and Mr Shoe wasn’t ready to forgive him for it.
