The YMCA is a charity that ignites the potential in over 2 million people annually, helping them grow, lead, and give back to their communities. I have been a member for many years and when I retired this was part of my plan; come to the Y each week day morning to protect my health, work out in some area and enjoy the welcome atmosphere.

I love the YMCA! It helps keep me healthy and fit. I recommend that everybody should join because the staff has a cooperative nature and the atmosphere is great!
I had never exercised or wanted to exercise, but at age 65 I had bypass surgery and was strongly encouraged to go to the Y for the hearts program that they operated. I didn't think I would last more than a few weeks and dreaded the whole process. It is now over 5 years that I have been attending three mornings a week. P moved from the hearts program to the senior program. The terrific staff is the reason for my smooth and easy transition from a sedentary life to one where I now exercise 90 minutes three times per week. I have seen substantial improvements to my health including diabetes management, blood pressure, and general strength. I could never have done this on my own.
I love this fitness center..it has everything you need!
Too bad the "C" has been so relegated to nothing in the ensuing years.

Would prefer allotted times for children to use the whirlpool, b/c btw 3-7pm it is mayhem to use the whirlpool because of children swim classes.

Why is it so hard to find information on SAM Standards? I've worked at the Y for 3 years and I have attended the SAM training 2 years ago. I would like to look at the SAM standards to refresh my memory. It would be great if there was a document easily accessible on the YMCA webpage.
