Why do you over rev by 1000rpm in Forza?

Gran Turismo and and Grid 2 used the 1970 facelift. Also, MW 2012 was a 1970 car. All else were 1969 facelift cars. The original car was a 1968 model, second generation Dodge Charger B-body.
