@@OpeningtheVault365 I can't really describe the hold of Curls Rock. It's like a cross between a cream and a serum. It doesn't cast like a gel but it sure tames my frizzies for 3 -4 days, with a water refresh. And my curls are a little looser with this product. Also, I've just tried Jessicurl Spiralicious. That's also good stuff! Major cast but frizz-free on day 3 and going strong - lol!

Hiii 😊 I don’t use a lot of The Doux products, I haven’t had the best luck outside of the 808 gel. BUT I’ve seen soooo many people talk about the curl custard, so I’ll def pick it up one of these days. Thanks for watching 💕

@@OpeningtheVault365 I tried the Doux Honey Curl Custard. I don't know if I got an 'off' container (bought it at TJMaxx) but 1. I HATED the smell and 2. It didn't hold or define my 3b/c curls. I gave it several tries but ultimately tossed out 75% of the container, which I never do.

Heard, botanical gels can be tricky. I suppose The Doux intended the 808 to be only a base layer, with the assumption that people would pair it either with a mousse or hard hold gel. I’ve seen some people use botanical gels as leave ins cause they only offer moisture and no hold 🤷🏾‍♀️ I hope you can find a way for it to best suite you! ​@@sphanksjohnsI use camille rose curl maker, which is a botanical gel, and ORS Curl Clumping Gel. People have been sleeping on that gel. I don't know if it will pair with 808, but it's very affordable, so you could it a go. 😊

Hi 😁 I’m glad to meet you too. Welcome to the channel! My main tip is to stay consistent with strengthening products. I incorporate protein in either my pre-pop, shampoo, or deep conditioner. Sometimes all three products will have protein or just the deep conditioner. Whatever works for you stay on it 👍🏾 moisture is huge too, use very moisturizing products to style and listen to your hair. It’ll tell you if it needs more strength (if your hair feels or looks weaker) or more moisture (if your hair feels dry or brittle). It’s a balancing act but it’s so worth it. I hope that helps 💕 oh also, it might seem obvious, but be super gentle with your hair. I find that I can’t use combs or detangling tools the way I used to. Treat your hair like silk lol

Hi, I'm late I know. But I just thought I'd also comment. I speak from experience. Be prepared that for your hair maintenance to increase a lot. Your hair will get very very porous so protein treatments are essential! You'll also need to use styling products that have protein. Also unless you want brassy (orangey) hair, you'll need a toning (purple) shampoo and a colour safe shampoo and / or deep conditioner. Then there's the general upkeep too, redoing your roots, unless you'll be happy with black roots on blond ends. And finally, please bear in mind that your curl pattern will likely change. Your curls will likely become looser. Hope that helps.

Ooh I’ve also heard good things about the mousse. Sephora has the travel size regular mousse and palo santo mousse for $14, and Ulta has the regular mini. It might be a nice trial size ☺️ thanks for watching ✨

nah that experience turned me off the rest of the line, plus i wasn’t a fan of the scent

Yeah sure! The doux mousse is about $16 and I only have luck with it as a topper over gel. My wash and gos get frizzy after one day if I use it by itself or on top of a leave in. It also makes my hair and scalp pretty dry. The mielle mousse is $10, also works great as a topper over gel, but I can use it for a wash and go and get about 3 days. It’s more moisturizing on my hair and the definition is pretty nice. I have a video with the mielle mousse on my channel, I’m not sure how helpful it would be because mousse is tricky. I’ve only had luck with the mielle mousse and I think I just got lucky. I hope that’s helpful ☺️

My hair was so balanced before 😪 I have a really good routine but these products dried my hair out 😭 I’m almost back to normal after a couple wash days so fingers crossed 🤞🏾
