That’s interesting how emulators can work on IOS. Assault is probably my favorite Star Fox game because it wasn’t just a copy of 64’s story (which was a remake of the original game and used a lot of the cancelled second game’s ideas/mechanics), being able to hop in and out of vehicles was pretty fun, and it seemed like the perfect evolution of the previous games. Sure, the on foot sections were kind of scuffed, and the dialogue was pure cringe at times. Thankfully they didn’t really drag down my enjoyment of the game. Too bad Nintendo didn’t build on what worked with Assault and reworked or scrapped what didn’t. I feel like that would’ve been a pretty good foundation for the series going forwards. Hopefully those rumors from a while back about an Assault remake are actually real. Namco put out a job listing for people to help remake GameCube games for the Switch, and people speculated that Assault could be on the list since they made that. Even if this most likely baseless schizo theory is real we won’t know for a couple years. A remake would be a great opportunity to fix up the controls, have quality of life improvements while remaining faithful to the original, improving the graphics and overhaul presentation, and maybe even including online multiplayer. It would also be awesome if we got a side story for Star Wolf and/or something that shows what Bill and Katt (and maybe even the characters from Command who weren’t bad) were up to. It would make the price point a lot more fair and be a great way to make the short game feel more complete. Too bad this most likely won’t happen.

Nice. I should point out that F-Zero GX has a 16:9 mode in the ingame options which will also eliminate the stretch from forcing 16:9 in the Dolphin settings. Have fun.

My iPhone SE 3 Gen reach up to 1440p res, disabling the Sync GPU option and setting Clock CPU to 125%, runs very fine without ThermalThrottle
