THIS MAY HELP SOME PEOPLE I'm 54. April 2, 2023 I had my first aura (without headache). Since then I've had 4-5 episodes per month (41 in total); sometimes twice in one day. I had an MRI and a visit to an Ophthalmologist; everything was fine. On April 11, 2024 I had a very unusual episode- a scary one. The entire field of vision was moving left to right and back again- bouncing side to side. It lasted a few hours and then it resolved. It never reoccurred but it scared me. I wanted to see if there was anything I could do to stop the aura so I made some changes: I was taking a blood thinner (Xarelto 10mg) and multivitamins/supplements (one-a-day vitamin, fish oil, saw palmeto, vitamin D tablet- nothing strange)- taken on the same day. I decided to both space them out and separate them. I now take the blood thinner on Monday, Wednesday, Friday afternoon and Sunday morning. I take the vitamins Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. I initiated this spacing on April 20. My last aura was on May 23. I haven't had an aura in 78 days and counting! I'm not sure if I was taking too many blood thinners, too many multivitamins, or it was the interaction between the two. I did read later that multivitamins, while being useless can also interact with medication. I no longer take that multivitamin tablet at all now. No one told me that auras could be caused by the interaction of medications/vitamins. I hope this helps some people!

The last 10 years I had a standard migraine with auras from time to time. 2 months ago I noticed that I see aura effect when I rub my eyes, or when I stand up from the bed or chair. It lasts a few seconds but it was something new. My ophtolmologist found a little hole in the retina and reccomended a laser correction. After the procedure a little aura spot is staying 6 days already. It is in the peripherial zone of the vision. Can you help me with some advise? @@whatismigraine-britttalley233 that’s false. It can cause high blood pressure because it affects norepinephrine in the body.

Confusional migraine since i was 13. Im now turning 30 soon. I get aura, nausea, disoriented, incoherent, etc. I used to go hospital as a kid. When i got older my partner helps me at home. I saw Dr Webster at Westmead. Long term medications are placebo after seeing my last neurologist. Botox doesnt work, triptans dont work, i just take maxalon & mersyndol. But the confusion, falling over, incoherent, loosing ability to even do basic motor functions is a real problem. And screaming in pain isnt good for neighbours. . Lol... please help

Great as always and at a good time. I'm thinking about starting with Topiramat again. Arovy has given me new energy to experiment and I belive my migraine is from over-stimulation. When I force myself to only do one thing at the time (no radio while cooking or driving, no smartphone use in front of the TV and so on) my migraine disappears. But since we are so used to stimulation in these times its hard to not feel ineffective with those rules and that's an other kind of stress. If my theory is correct (after 15 years of chronical migraine and experiments...) I could very well see that Amitriptyline makes people relax, hence be less stimulated and get better. Medication is a crutch and most of us probably need to find changes in our lifestyles to support a healthier life. Not always easy when you are fighting migraine but all we can do is try.

I alternate it with other drugs for fibromyalgia insomnia. I find 50 mg too little, can't sleep, and 75 mg too much - very groggy and zombie like next day. Dry mouth. Last night, I took my other alternate, 2 Tranquipams and 2 Brazapams, and still could not sleep after four hours so chased it with a Trepilene. Did the job, but was very tired this morning. Taking medication seems to be a fine balancing act, if I have to be up early and alert the next morning, i have to take less, even if it means little or no sleep.

doctor. A doctor prescribed this treatment for me, Amitriptyline Tablets, and I have cramps throughout my body, and this treatment has not helped me in any way. It has been almost two weeks and days since I used it. For me, this treatment for nerve pain did not help me at all

1st comment! Hello Doc, I am currently on Qulipta 60mg in the mornings as a preventative, but it gives me smelly tarry black stools which is NOT cool or fun at all and I really don't like that and can't deal with it very well. Rizatriptan 10mg ODT after I feel one coming on and or it is an emergency, but my insurance, and I have great insurance, only gives me 10 a month, one of my providers said it can cause "brain bleeds" so I don't like it either, and it can make my knees hurt sometimes. Fioricet 200-60-40, when I sort of feel one coming on but it isn't an emergency yet, this seems to work, but it really works best if I lay down and be quiet in a dark room, it doesn't get me high at all, and I start feeling normal again after about 1 hour, I never take more than 1 a day hardly, that is what is written on my script because I told the doctor that. I need support, and am here on your channel for support, I am a fighter, and am working through this. I think I am suffering from tension, stress, anxiety, tension and or stress headaches, exhaustion, and my chronic Complex PTSD which I have had since age 4. Any helpful thoughts doc? You are awesome! Thank you kindly, Marc White USN-RET, DAV, AL

I used to have migraine 20 days in a month and I didn’t take any painkillers. I didn’t know I should see a neurologist, coz whenever I would tell my GP I have migraines they just shrugged it off. Fortunately when I went for ENT and told her I have migraine for almost everyday, she immediately referred me to a neurologist. My neurologist helped me also realized that my gut health is worsening my migraine and vise versa. He also told me it’s okay to take migraine meds before the migraine gets worst. Saved me. Now I barely have any migraines maybe just once or twice a month.
