Tom Brier - Fan Channel

All video's on this channel contain footage that is filmed by other people. See video description for credit.
You can basicly fit my videos in two cathegories: Compilations and Revamped or 'tweaked' music. I make compilations of ragtime community playing Tom's pieces and Tom himself just being an insane pianist.
I have received numerous questions about these tweaked versions, which also are the most frequent uploads.
Most performances from Tom on RUclips are either a recording for his album or live footage. The album recordings have much better sound quality but don't have any video of Tom playing while live performances do have this, but they lack sound quality. Tweaked Versions combine the studio recordings with live performances to combine best of both worlds in one video.
However, the first tweaked versions actually served a different purpose: Making the audio sound better. My three favourite effects to do this are Pitch, EQ and reverb. This breathes new life into Tom's music

Who you see on the piano is who Tom was - He loved playing piano and was always so enthusiastic in his performances - I grew up with Tom and miss him tremendously.
What was done in this one? I do hear a difference but I'm not too sure what itr is
Not to sure, maybe you could explain a little bit more what you're hearing? Of course there are a flute and a tuba playing too, maybe it's that. Also the stereo is applied, not too much but it makes the difference. Let's just you would miss it if it wasn't there
@@tombrierfan No I'm just curious as to what oyu actually did to the audio if you didn't do what I did. What was added?
@@WeegeeFan1Studios I did first change the pitch, if I recall correctly with 1,22 half note to get to a 'non-existing' pitch. Then I added Reverb. Normally I also do some tuning with bass and treble but now that is in the shape of my 'stereo-ization'

@@WeegeeFan1Studios The key doesn't exist on a piano, since the frequency lies between E and Eb

This is hand played by Tom Brier, just on a player piano so Tom is not 'actually' playing. I haven't filmed this, keeper1st has. He named his video Virtual Tom Brier.

No, actually not. As written in the video description, this video was made a while back, before your tip even. I only just uploaded it today because I forgot I had this one. The next one will be Athletic theme as requested by someone else, with my attempt at trying to make it more stereo 😄

@@WeegeeFan1Studios Just took a listen, sounds good! I think I wil do it less radically, so not completely splitting it but 'boosting' bass on the left and treble on the right, though remaing all frequencies on both sides. I think that will be slightly more pleasent to the ear, but we'll see.
I've yet to transcribe this one!

What I say you could try to do is turn it into "stereo" by setting the higher frequencies of the audio into the right ear and the lower frequencies into the left ear. I can guarantee it'll make it sound like it was recorded with two microphones!

Acknowledging that you don't own the footage is good, but you should also be citing where the footage comes from: both the channel that uploaded it and the specific video, including a link to atleast the video itself if not the channel too.

Hello, friend! From what I remember, i believe that what the poster means by "tweaked" would be key changes, as well as adding different effects to the song to make it seem like you're really more... "there." I remember seeing a reply responding to a comment like yours, but I unfortunately don't remember which video that was on. Happy early Valentine's Day! ❤

Hilarious that Gustavo Braga just wrote a comment on the video you got the audio from xD Cool that you synced the upscaled footage to the midi audio, I wanted to do something similar but with transcribing the actual video (audio ain't good enough for it though)
