good night friend I'm starting to manufacture wooden baits I can't find the stainless steel part that is on the front and back of the bait can you help me at least with her name
SlumpBuster Tackle you can buy sheets of what’s called abalone vineer that use real abalone shell, but it’s a bit softer and easier to work with. They typically come with an adhesive backing. For tough shapes that require you to mold the vineer around the lure soak the vineer in vinegar for 12 hours to de-calcify it. Here is a link to a thread created by Merv Rubino (forum name Concept3), owner and founder of strategic angler lures. www.stripersonline.com/surftalk/topic/497318-abalone-lure/ Hope this helps
There is no information out there regarding the building process for lures of this caliber and strength. I think I speak for everyone when I say that A) this was an excellent video and anyone who makes thru wired plugs would greatly benefit from it, and B) Any other tips or tricks you’d be willing to disclose would be greatly appreciated. Either way, thank you sir.
And for the love of god, I’ve purchased so many different eyelets for the nose of my poppers, waited for, re-measured, purchased, waited for etc. and cannot for the life of me find a nose grommet works with the 2.2mm wire I’m using
So does that to Mill wire really stretch? Or does the wood and Lead which make up the lure Crush under the tension of the wire giving it the illusion of stretching?
2mm wire is pretty hard to stretch, thinner wires definitely stretch but also the "eyelets" in the cup and on the tail can deform and compress which give the illusion of the wire stretching more. The wire wraps if put under enough tension can slide making the eyelets smaller, a bit like a slip knot on a noose. Not yet had a lure where the wood has "crushed" causing the wire to be loose. Not yet had a 2mm wire lure requiring re-wiring either.

I like your videos bro, congrats! 👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
do you put somekind of varnish on the inside of the drilled hole? isnt water gonna get into there an rot the wood?
Many ways to seal the wood. I've used zinsser shellac, it's a fast method, works well I generally apply 2 coats 24 to 48 hours apart
Very Nice ! Thank you.
