yeah pretty much, though the four rescue hens seem to rule the roost, and the three bantams tend to to stay out of their way. One of the Pekin bantams actually laid an egg yesterday! first time any of the bantams have laid in ~6 months. Perhaps it was because the sun was out.

For this type of bin, and as I'm not too particular about what type of material I put in (I put in quite a lot of allotment hedge prunings that take a while to break down), I reckon about a year. I've already half filled it, and am expecting what's in there now will be ready to use as a soil conditioner next spring.

Sadly not, should have done though - The twin single din faceplate I bought came with a clip in cubby hole for the second slot - I didn't fit that and instead made the blanking plate which the USB socket panel is mounted to from some scrap metal. I then spliced some additional connectors into switched live on the head unit harness, and they run to both the USB socket unit and an inline cigarette lighter socket that's located behind the blanking plate - that socket in turn powers a dashcam, which meant I could just use the Nextbase cigarette plug that came with the camera (rather than buy an expensive Nextbase hard wiring kit, or a cheap third party kit of dubious quality).

Well I guess every micron helps, but I'm not sure the paint made much difference in practical terms - it was fits in there very firmly both before and after paint. In the six months since I first fitted that bracket, I've not had a need to remove it, and it's still attached rock solid. Yes certainly is a Ratpack cap - good spot! And yeah, I always lid my CoTs to retain the heat, and there's usually dust and grime floating around in the garage so the lid is a double win in there.

yeah, should come along to the next one! There's an all-dayer at Fabric in April, but I can't make that one. Hopefully they'll do another November one at Heaven this year

Yeah completely. He's still not as quick to come up at feeding time as the others but he seems to be doing fine
