SHOOTING A TEAL TRIO | PART 2 : EPISODE 8
HUNT IN MAZATLAN WITH ROBERTO
www.avilesbrothers.com
The party in Mexico continues as Ryan and Chiam do a bit of spot and stalk for ruddy ducks while dodging gators. Not all species can be decoyed, or can they?
After acquiring four new species early in the hunt it was time to turn attention to one of the harder species to successfully take in North America. But don't worry, the fast pace action of teal trios and shovelers never disappoints down in Ol Mexico. The guys had a heck of an end to their trip south of the border. This probably won't be the last trip down. Expect more barrel melting action for the Road to 100 in Mexico for Season 2 as well! Stay tuned at the end of the episode for a ...

UNREAL footage! Which is YOUR favorite???
You could shoot as many Rudy’s as you want in NC. You can definitely shoot them out of the air. 😂 we also like higher shot size for clean up or raking. A sneak boat woulda been the ticket for y’all there
Guess I shoulda watched the whole thing before commenting 😂
The red breasted merg is also one of the fastest waterfowl ever recorded as one was chased by a small airplane and attained a speed of 120 mph
What layout boat is that?
UFO
👍🏻
🙏
What is your suggestion for someone who wants to buy a cheep but quality shotgun camera to start out?
GoPros or dji action cameras used on eBay is how Chiam started out way back in the day !
Just found your guys’ channel and subbed! Great content and love the tradition aspect you guys have. I have to know where did you get that replica dog head done that’s holding the greenhead!? I would love to do that in the future as a remembrance of my first retriever.
Thanks for the sub! The guy who did this mount doesn’t do taxidermy anymore , I don’t know of a lot of people who do that kind of thing !
@TheRoadto100 ok gotcha, definitely a great idea and something I’m going to try to get done in the future. Thanks again for the great content and looking forward to the next seasons!
Great video! Really enjoyed it! What type of camera are you using to record from your layout boats?
We like to use action cams like a GoPro or insta camera
@@TheRoadto100thanks for the info! I have a small outdoor RUclips channel (1.1K) and I am always looking for new ways to record our action!
The judus duck decoy thing is very interesting. I am also very exited for this series!
Glad you enjoyed it ! It’s crazy the things you find hunting in different places !
When is the video coming out I can’t wait😊
We have an announcement we will be coming out with soon!
Awesome, ready for season 2
💯💯💯💯
This is a great show and an even better concept. There is no reason you shouldn’t have 1000x the subs. Great work!
Thanks ! We appreciate the support , glad you enjoyed it !
I hunt with hunter Jarvis and Scot Moore from texas
I like this video, although as a swede I'd like to add that you can only shoot barnacles and beans on fields to protect xour harvest and not for hobby hunting.
Awesome video. Cole Townsend didn't disappoint. What's that song at about the 15 minute mark?
To clarify, the daily limit for snow/ross’ geese is 50 combined for Alberta. There is no overall possession limit.
And one more thing in my opinion I think if you and dive bomb did a hunt that would be cool
If you are not aware, snow goose population is at its lowest point since the late 80’s beginning of the 90’s. At that time, when the so called « conservation » hunt was opened (hunting in spring (!?!) and fall, huge 20-50 birds/day limit and no possession limit, the new right to use electronic callers, etc…) their population was about 23 millions! Right now it is about 3 millions!!! An eight of what it was in the 80’s-90’s! Very scary! And no one is talking about the absolute need to close the spring season NOW and never reopen it ever again for any migratory bird and the need to close their hunting completely until their population at least doubles. I had warned everyone that opening spring hunting for migratory birds was a big mistake but like for the passenger pigeon, everyone was in a frenzy state and nobody listened and just wanted to kill as many birds as possible! And I killed my share too! It was a big mistake because hunting in spring was a dangerous precedent as well as having huge daily limits and no possession limits and having the right to use electronic callers. Not only it was not ethical to kill those birds all year long and especially just before they returned nesting in the arctic, once started and especially with outfitters involved and making lots of money with spring hunts, it would be nearly impossible to stop and to reverse. Also it has always been very obvious to me that even if it might have been true that if overpopulated they might have destroyed the vegetation on their breeding grounds in the arctic, the big farmers and the Ministry of Agriculture of the western province and states governments and the crop insurance companies have certainly pushed very hard to eliminate most of the snow geese supposedly eating too grain. Non hunter farmers would probably be happy if snow geese and all other animals eating their crops totally disappeared, even if they perfectly know that because they have left nothing natural to eat after they bulldozed all native land, bushes and drained all marshes, that all animals have to eat something else to survive. Now not a single wildlife association, hunter association, nature protection agency, wildlife biologists, government officials have said a word about it and it is very scary because we do not know how quickly their population can collapse suddenly after reaching a certain low point. This is what happened with the passenger pigeon who were so numerous that flights of over a billion birds, yes a billion birds, darkened the sky for 3 days and 3 night in a row, a single flight! There were so many birds that when they build their nests the trees were falling under the weight of thousands of birds! And when their population collapsed after hunting them all year long, and without any limits, very similarly like our snow goose hunts now, some good intelligent conservationists said that their hunt must be stopped… but no one listened because it had become a big business to kill the passenger pigeons, just like it is right now for the snow goose hunt…. and their population quickly dropped down until they completely disappeared from the surface of the planet,…. Please make sure it doesn’t happen to the snow goose and please tell everyone about it if you want to continue to hunt snow geese in the future….
Hey when is the next vid coming out I have been dying for it to come out
Hey there ! We begin filming season 2 very soon and we have a special episode premiering from last season we’re excited to share in November !
@@TheRoadto100 I can’t wait
When will your next video be
@@RigginJohnson we have exciting news coming out soon. Have a couple of episodes planned for January! We will film season 2 starting next month.
Great way to cap off season 1! Can’t wait for season 2, and this coming duck season here in East Texas! First time duck hunter last year and had a blast, all public land, and just got my first duck back from the taxi🔥 beautiful GWT drake
Heck yeah dude ! Congrats ! Glad you got hooked , hope you have an even better season this year !
Was very interesting to learn methods of waterfowl from other countries! Keep up the great work!😊
Thank you !
just because lead shot is legal there do you think it is right?
They don’t produce steel shot that is readily available in there country so there isn’t another option. It’s not negatively impacting the areas being hunted. So yeah, it’s fine.
Hey when is the next vid coming out or is that it for the season
We pressed pause due to some exciting developments but will have an update soon!
Idk man I hunted with wideopen outfitters in Mexico got a ride to the marsh in a brand new ram TRX and brand new air ranger air boat with a LSA supercharged motor in it… there’s lots of guides in Mexico but the outfitters are the way to go always top tier equipment. Also there’s millions of Rudy’s on Lake Erie late September
Yup. Lots of outfits in Mexico. Guides work for outfitters. It’s a big country. I’ve been hosting clients there for almost 16 years now and have hunted in 6 different states of Mexico for waterfowl, turkey, and big game. A lot of it comes down to hunting specific regions for specific species, especially waterfowl. Do we have other options for waterfowl, yeah several. But in Mazatlan specifically this is the best outfitter, this is what he has, and it’s an awesome time. They aren’t all 5 star lodges and that’s ok. In season 2 you’ll see us hunt in a totally different part of Mexico for different species with better gear etc. It’s more about the adventure than anything. And yes, Ruddy ducks migrate from the US. But they don’t fly much once they get to where they are going. They don’t decoy because they don’t fly. They primarily just swim around. Plumage in September isn’t as good as it is in February too.
Cinnamons are my target this fall 😊
They are awesome for sure! Best of luck to you
@@TheRoadto100 thanks guys! What’s your favorite duck species to hunt?
