Mildly interesting fact: My nickname (McBrite) was originally conceived by me as a name to play the Ultima Online Beta with... And while I ended up not ever playing UO in the end, I've kept the name since! Like 30 years!

😒 Nothing I seen here looked interesting to me, seems like meaningless game play and waste of time, Being a current player and supporter since 1997 I wished the resources & time would have been used to bring the 2d client into 2024 or updating the game to more of a single player system for dungeons and such since the player population is pretty much dead. (imho)

Its still the same UO. everything is dated. Just start from scratch with a new engine etc. stop trying to keep this old thing alive. Let it die already.

Ah, I miss those days. However, I was disappoint with the graphics even way back then, compared to Diablo. I just don't think I could get back into the game because it looks so dated.

I'm glad they're still doing something It's still one of the best games ever made I hope they didn't screw up the skill system too much used to have a Noxmage I quit playing somewhere around 2006 And I think they made something for steam It was called shroud of the avatar It reminded me of when Ultima online release their 3D CD with the unpainted machine wizard I remember 3D didn't last very long last thing I remember seeing was the ninjas and samurai's I haven't played that game for so long

I have a question i want to play classic client ultima online but i wanted to know what kind of laptop can i play uo on without spending 800.

For what is it 28 years now, I have owned and play an original account. Along with another account that my daughters used as children when we would play together. I retained subscriptions on those accounts for most of those years as well. Today, I am now a US Navy Service Connected Disabled Veteran, medically retired 2014 due to numerous military injuries. I mention it because last fall, I needed serious medical care again on one of those injuries that this time left me unable to do much for a few months, not counting recovery after that period. I am writing this post because between that and this last month, I have had some periods of time I was not able to do much and because of that, literally lost pretty the entire 28 years of my Ultima Online account. I went to log in about 1.5 months ago only to find ALL of my stuff gone. My home I had maintained, all the gear my daughters and I kept in that home, all my anniversary tokens.. everything just gone. Apparently in these last few months my subscription had run out and I was unaware of it, not to mention in any position to do anything right away due to medical reasons, nor did I see any notice so I could even figure out why there was a problem. I contacted EA/Broadsword via support and was told to talk to a GM in game. He was unable to do anything to fix it. I wrote again to EA/Broadsword about 3 weeks ago and as I today, not one reply back have I seen regarding this although initially in the support email telling me to talk to a GM, support said they were unable to restore anything. I don't think the people running this game have ANY clue what it means to lose an account that is so old. Oh sure, the account is still there but the essence of that account, the history of that account, the things earned and found and bought.. all gone just like that. The work, the effort and for me, the memories with my children when they were growing and we played together (I raised 3 daughters as their father while serving), all lost. I write this torn because Ultima Online still goes strong and is being enhanced and supported... the game part that is, not so much the customer base apparently. My feeling from what response I have had from EA/Broadsword is one of shrugged shoulders. 'Oh well, your sub ran out and because of that, you lose and we don't care enough to even try to help you out'. That is how I feel about the little bit of response I have had from EA/Broadsword. I really wanted to keep subscribing to help the game stay around another 28 years... and yet right now and in these last few weeks, I cannot seem to find any reason or DESIRE to continue to support the game because of what it took from me at a real personal level. Why should I support the game any further when someone who has been an active account holder from the very first day of Ultima Online, can lose everything and the companies statement is just one of 'Oh well'? Knowing I should likely just move on and delete my account now, is a LOT harder decision to make than I think many understand.. clearly those at EA/Broadsword do not or they would be able to do something about situations like this that are not an everyday occurrence. I would bet rarely do they find a long term account holder like me where suddenly everything is lost because it is more important to get that $13 a month that to protect long time, long term accounts that are potentially in danger of being lost without there being a much more robust effort to inform such account holder there is something wrong... At minimum, I would have thought that long time paying accounts like this would have some protections for items that cannot be replaced, anniversary tokens, super rare OLD gear that can never again be had and so forth. Things that if an account subscription does lapse, could still be recovered for situations like I find myself in. But apparently not. Apparently it does not matter. 1 year or 28 years. Pay the money or lose it all, regardless of reason. For anyone of you hear that have accounts of many years, be warned. I can tell you the loss is not easily put aside. Years and years of memories and effort.. gone instantly. And I can't do a damn thing to get any of it back. For EA/Broadsword, this message I sent via support email as well on the off chance you might actually care and want to contact me this time in reply. If I don't get a reply, well then I guess it really will be good bye to Ultima Online for good because I honestly do not think I will be able to find that desire to start over from scratch and play another 28 years this time.

I played UO for many years, left for quite a while, but have recently returned. I love the classic client and the true sandbox feel of the game. The New Legacy Shard doesn't look or sound at all appealing to me, and the required leveling up shown in this video apparently negates the sandbox qualities that made UO great in the first place. I'll stick with my classic UO.

There's only probably two or three bureau guilds left on Atlantic is a couple in Pacific on the LS and oceanic and some job servers The population of the game is under 8,000 real players they have 20,000 paid accounts because a lot of people have three to five accounts or more but there's not many people left. Why is there so few people you ask or the people in charge let their friends script cheat and hack all day long if you do it you'll be banned immediately but they can do whatever they want. Recently one of the people died in real life like 500 lb type 2 diabetic you know ate too many yum yum bars. And for 15 years thousands of people have quit the game because they've script it cheated and made the game horrible so his reward for years of harassing people and pushing people away from the game they're making a memorial stone so they can forever remember a script a piece of s***. Run away from this game do not spend one minute downloading it or one sent in it run far far far away. Unless the original person who made the game Richard Garfield comes back

Bring ultima to mobile

As someone who loved UO and lived in it for years starting in the original alpha (96 or so?).. I absolutely cannot believe that the client hasn't been updated and made modern. Really. How is it not properly 3D at this point but instead still low FPS 2D sprites with terrible forced resolutions? I wish another studio got the IP.

I must add and admit... I played the Ultima online demo (0cclo island) for more hundreds hours you can imagine when my mom refused to pay for my subscription due to my no life status outside Ultima. I was a very bad child, my father took a huge cutter at 2:00am and he chopped all the wires around the pc in the middle of a guild war at 2 am... Good times, I had all the replacement wires ready to rock in my closet, finished the war at 8am. He gave up on me that day. Poor dad. Ps I have now 4 kids, playing Roblox like maniac, I'm sorry baby Jesus, please forgive me.

i see this video bizzare, insulting and nasty. what are you wtf doing uploading this type of videos? I really think UO staff needs to considering talk with CUO people and make and alliance to allow to play with that client without some features.... the ego is what kills yourself, and ultima online community proved to be more efficient than the official uo devs, make them looks like junior devs. i have a 2024 build in my computer and i really rejects to play with a 1998 client that runs 30 fps, CUO is the best that happened to uo community and it is what official devs should do instead doing "ghost" commits to their code and try to convince people they are working on the game, at this point ultima online oficial servers just become a money garb shard.

I understand that admitting something can require a great deal of effort, but shouldn't you honestly convey that 'Due to economic and technical issues, we can't improve the client now or in the future, and we have no intention of pandering to ClassicUO. Please bear with the 10 FPS.'? I don't think it's gentlemanly to place the responsibility on the community manager.

Can we get a how-to video for how to increase the FPS from 12 to a more modern 60+ for the Classic Client?

Its just a gimmick to grab some cash.. NL is a joke.. we have been doing this kind of shit on free servers for years :D
