Radiomaster MT-12 Range Test
I got a quarter mile away with all these cars on the side of the road. Pretty awesome. I ran out of range before I ran out of video. I wonder how far I could go not in a sea of wifi routers with big metal things in the way

Uncut video of the stampede with an analog set up and ELRS. It works well enough, I think the camera vibrates because it is on the body shell and I need to hardmount it to the frame.

First try on the runcam 6. The EIS on this is garbage. I'll be turning it off and sticking it in gyroflow. I hope that works better.

I'm not a fan of the pnp motor set up. I'll move to larger props I think. Around 2:30 I do an impromptu stall test and also just about clip the tree that took the penguin out. This is unstabilized air unit footage. It has a little yaw waggle. I am considering a conventional tail for a couple reasons.

It was very windy, up to 34mph gusts. Pretty much flies like the swordfish from what I could tell. Launch was sketch because the board level was off.

Seems to fly pretty good. I just keep it in angle mode in my neighborhood since I'm not a great pilot. Got 4 minutes on a 650mah 4S, Awesome! Uncut, loaded straight from the quad to youtube.

Remaiden of the swordfish. 45 degree tail mod and upgraded to INAV 7.0. It is a lot better than stock, not as good as the conventional tail. Mainly just doing autotune, autolevel, and feeling it out in angle mode.

This is a light floaty little plane and easy to fly. My 9 year old can do it. Since you asked, here it is.

How do you mount the Hawkeye Thumb on the T1 ?

Nice planes! I really want know your opinions between the swordfish and Altus, as they are very similar!
I think the swordfish flies a little better, but the altus has more payload capacity, breaks down smaller, and is more easily vtol'ed. I'd pick the altus if I had to choose just one as they do fly very close, but luckily I don't have to choose.😁

Looks good to me. I just saw the wings rock a bit. I still hate V tails though. I just don't understand why manufacturers insist on using them.

A compass isn't usually used in a wing. The flight controller knows which way it's pointed, so put the GPS in the normal spot and just skip the compass wiring.
It does matter for VTOL flight however as this airplane has been set up for a future option for VTOL.
Yes, you'd normally not need one, but for VTOL they are nice. Given the fact I am about to start cadding some VTOL stuff up.... it will be a nice addition.
Imo that reptile dragon is the best of them wish they would do a V2 built for hd. The penguin second, excellent plane. I didn't care for the sword fish mainly because I can't see the thing when flying LOS. Curious to see what you think of the new one.
The RDV2 is my favorite. I'd think you could come up with something to stick HD in it. I've seen a few set 3d printed noses on it. I use it as my long range sled, so it just has the rush tank solo max in it and it is also my only plane running 915mhz.
Have you had issues with the wing screws one of mine strip out sitting it down
I had one that acted like it wanted to strip, but I just took a tap and chased the threads in the wing to clean it up.

I was going to get CAP test pipes and double resonate or put in vibrant ultra quiet res. Still trying to figure it out. I like your sound. Do u have outside sound clips of your setup? Thanks!

How is the drone at 2000-2600 rpm?
The drone is more from 1500-2200, and it is pretty bad. 125hz. I need to make some helmholtz resonators, I just haven't yet.
That's good for everything BUT for Spektrum Burkie! You need A, E, T, R channel order for the Sparrow by default, NOT Spektrum's stock T, A, E, R! 😉
You can change the servo order in the transmitter settings. (AETR, TAER etc).
@@sptrader6316 Yep, there are several work-arounds. If using a PWM Spektrum receiver you could just pull the pins out of the 4-wire plug used here and re-order them so that they deliver A,E,T,R from the receiver's T,A,E,R - OR, as you say, you could re-order them in the transmitter settings (if allowed by the transmitter you are using) which you would HAVE to do if trying to use a single connector serial connection if you have a Spektrum-capable receiver that can put out PPM or S-bus. It should also be noted that the newer version of this (the Sparrow 3 Pro with the pre-soldered pins and dual switchable camera ports) has dispensed with the PWM input option. It only allows PPM, S-bus, i-Bus and ELRS/CRSF receiver serial inputs.
