Ultima II Minax Castle Blocked Areas
Minax's Castle is the final challenge in Ultima II. But there are a couple of walled off areas you can't explore. One has four time doors, the other has several means of transporation.
What would happen if we got into those areas? Do the time doors go anywhere? Can you actually board the airplane? And could you sail the frigate?
Using the Ultima II map editor I built, I decided to find out. The answers might surprise you!

Ultima II New San Antonio Customs House
Просмотров 352 года назад
I've always wondered why the guards in Ultima II's New San Antonio are keyed on to your character as hostile even though you haven't done a thing. The only way to let them out is to attack someone. What would happen if they got out without you doing anything wrong? Would they attack you or just follow you around? I wrote an Ultima II map editor to find out.
FCPX Extra Media Error
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.3 года назад
In Final Cut Pro X (FCPX), when trying to add a transition, sometimes you get this error message: There is not enough extra media beyond clip edges to create the transition. What does this mean? Why does it happen? How can you fix it? This video gives a detailed explanation of how transitions work, why you get this message, and how to avoid it. Kudos to Ray Brown whose video inspired this: rucl...
Why does this happen at a start of a project with no preceding media?
I make RUclips tutorial videos myself and you left in awe all along your video with your excellent teaching skills. I'm AMAZED at how simply you did it with so minimal tools: only with two rectangles (one blue and one orange). That was dead effective. I love this way of teaching. The very BEST explanation I've seen on this. By. A. Mile. 👏🎩 Thanks Jeff.
Excellent explanation of this transition problem, watched a few others, yours was by far the best with visual example with those 5 sec clips. Thank you ! Makes sense now.
Up to 63 views now! Interesting video.
👍
Brilliant! Thank you Jeff
I had been struggling with that...thank you!!
thank you
Thank you for this video)
Thank you for this, Jeff. However, what I want to know is, can I just make the error message STOP? It happens for almost every transition I add. I overide it every single time, the result is always what I want, and I just want to stop waiting for the inevitable pop up every time, where I'm always gong to click "Create Transition". Do you or anyone know how to set a default to just create the darn transition already? Thank you for listening to my tirade! 😬
This is the most clear explanation on this issue. Thanks.
Best video on this topic, this has been SUCH a headache for me. THANK YOU
nope..you wrong, try and make music video..you will know...there will be black in timeline and take 2 seconds to reach next clips
"You're wrong"...Maybe watch my video again and tell me exactly what I said that was wrong because what I said was backed up with very clear explanations.
@@jeffmclaughlin6612 coz music video you need to follow with accurate lipsing with the audio..
You helped a lot man thanks!
It's definitely a huge problem BECAUSE...imagine you have three videos taken to the same song, which are the same length. You cut them and create a storyline of them all combined together. There is no option for me to create a simple minimalistic transition to all of them at the same time without having to adjust them to the audio all the time. If you get what I mean?
fixed it by lifting it from storyline
@@noctilucentmusic1086 Glad you fixed it. The point of the video is that it's not really a problem with the software. It's a problem any video editing software will have when two pieces of video need to be on the screen simultaneously. There *has* to be overlap to make any transition like this work, and that means you either shorten the total video length by overlapping the clips or else you freeze frame parts of the clips to extend the duration. It sounds like you had more of an audio sync issue, where the video portion of the transition worked fine but the audio wasn't following. Anyhow, there are other ways to deal with that but it seems like you found them.
Great Analysis! You are a clear thinker~
Thanks Lin!
