Why did that black hawk keep taking off all the time?
Im not sure a few planes did it,
I love the blue colour, it came out really well, little touches like the chrome adds a lot to the overall look, modelling can be a pain at times but as long as you enjoy it keep at it, well done and model on
Omg b.you surprised me. I just told you to try that model but you already did😅😅😅❤❤❤❤
Where are you getting those interesting thumbnail pics from? Cos they don't look much like a Shannon😀
Yeah, I know sorry mate it was the best I could get DALL-E to come up with, im no expert. I just think it's a proper bit of kit and would make an interesting model build. I've just been watching a couple of your videos they are great cant wait to watch more. Im impressed with your camera work, tracking boats in them waters with a zoom is a proper skill, and you've nailed it,
Oh no, the bloody Carpet Monster strikes again lol.
Yip, it's had me a few times😁
@JoeUnpluggedMMM Lol, same here.
Who does the music to this lad? It's fantastic, I totally love it, it sounds so very early 70's Tripper hippy proggy folk rock. Nice work on the model too. Edit:- I meant that first track/song.
Cheers for watching my video😁 I create all my music using the paid version of Suno AI I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is, i did it as a one off because i was tired of getting copyright claims from royalty-free sites. Go and have a go. it's free as long as you don't want to publish it anywhere. It's insane. It's a bit frustrating at first, but once you start to get the hang of the prompts, you will be away.
@JoeUnpluggedMMM AI? Whoa, I may give that a try, although I do still prefer to record music I play on my collection of instruments, check out Furry Akiko and Beija-Flor - Experiment No.8, most of what I have posted is shite like, just noodling away to see what little snippets sound ok that I can then maybe use elsewhere to create other tracks, but Experiment No.8 is the one I guess I am most proud of writing and recording on, along with my cover of Frank Zappa’s Sleep Dirt feat Martin Reed. If I create a video for some reason then it will definitely be accompanied by music of my own creation, like you I can't be arsed with copyright crap.
Nice build! As for the Bugatti, it'd be interesting to see a comparison between the one you built off camera and the next one. Cheers.
Thanks for watching, and thanks for your kind words about the lifeboat. I've just finished the Bugatti. I've just got to edit the video it should be out in a few days, fingers crossed 😁
Great build, well done, challenging model kit but you did it, model on
Your little tips are starting to make me look like I know what I'm doing. Thank you as always 😁
Very nice b. I love it❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Free dingy with 49 illegals included 😮
That's coming on really nicely, I see you used different masking tape, maybe Tamiya, and you had no paint lifted off, so that's a plus. With ornage a white primer would have been better, sometimes yellow as well but the colour looks ok to me. With the delicate pieces I find it easier to not cut close to the part, some clippers twist the plastic when cutting, hopefully you will find the missing part. You're doing really well, model on
Thank you a bit delicate this one 😁
Part 3
The air fry one is more appealing to eat
I can't wait for the part at the end where the deck gets loaded with illegal immigrants .. And the decals read " Illegal Immigrant Taxi Service "
That's a nice subject to build, looking great already, model on
Watch you don't get paint on the Nirvana unplugged t shirt 😂 nice model looking forward to seeing it with paint
Waiting for part 2 b
You overstuffed the puffed pastry
Criimpit USA calls it a "Crimpit tortilla sealer " FYI
These crimpits are maid for tortillas not uncooked dough. Of course it stuck. Not a true test.I 👎
Thanks for your insight. Of course, you've obviously never used one, or you would know otherwise. Cheers for your comment anyway 😁
@@JoeUnpluggedMMM(Loud buzz sound) Wrong..I have one and use it.. don't assume you know everything!😅 And next time chill the dough😮
Great job, the way Airfix do he tracks is a major improvement from the old rubber band tracks even if a little harder to paint.
Thank you, I did find the tracks tricky to paint. Im not that good with a brush yet. Thanks for watching
Paint job looks great.. thanks for posting 👍
Thank you.
That's a relatively new tooling by Airfix, looks much better than the old model kits, besides that you have done a great job with it, so well done
Thank you. Im getting better one model at at time 😁
You should advance to 1/48!!
I need to learn to walk before i can run 😁.I will in time or if the right one pops up sooner. Thanks for watching
I'm back into it after a similar lengthy time away. I started c. 1970, aged 9, and now I'm retired decided I want to get back into a relaxing hobby. We are about the same skill level, I think, and for both of us it is getting that feel, that wonder, of what it was like when we were young boys. Back then I didn't sand seams, or fill gaps, brush-painted all my kits, and did canopy frames by hand. I had a ball. I've subbed. A very relatable channel, my friend!
Thank you for your kind words. The modelling thing has come completely out of the blue (I just enjoy making relaxing videos as a hobby) I didn't do well with them when I was a kid, but it's got under my skin. Im definitely no expert, but that's fine, I hope people can relate to the mistakes I make, and there's many. I've got a couple of crackers coming up, and hopefully, i can get out and about for a couple of videos. The weather is not great at the moment. Enjoy your modelling 😁
Nice job, particularly for someone who hasn't made a model in 40 years. Everyone has their own method for camo masking, mine is to roll the blue Tack into small, long sausages and use it to form the pattern then get an ordinary tissue and split it, they're 2 ply, and simply put the tissue onto the Blue Tack thereby masking the areas you don't want the paint on, when you spray the model this system leaves a nice feathered edge to the colour borders rather than a hard edge that you sometimes get with other methods. If you leave the first coat to harden before using the Blue Tack it won't leave even a mark on the paint. Keep on building.
Thank you, I will give the blue tack trick a go, im also going to try and do it free hand. Im still learning all the quirks of the airbrush (there are many). My main problem is stopping myself from rushing.
@@JoeUnpluggedMMM I'd recommend using white Tack than Blue tack, white tack is less oily
@@Sarah-JaneR32 thanks I'll try that.
@@JoeUnpluggedMMM yeah definitely less is more, paint, glue or time.
Sorry old mate but it's (Super)marine Spitfire. Great vid though, I agree with you about airbrushes. I wouldn't swap mine for the world but it is a fairly steep learning curve. Great idea with the Blue Tack to keep the sprues off the bench.
Thank you. I've got a lot to learn with the airbrush, but I've got a feeling i will only be making a lot of these mistakes once or twice. I'm not that good with a paint brush. I will get the name correct next time I build one 😁
Nice improvement, good job on the Spitfire. I just became #600.
Thank you for being my 600th Subscriber 😁.
That's great in seeing how you've improved, you've improved a lot so well done. Masking tape is not great, especially off the shelf types, the Tamiya tape is better as it's not so tacky but any tape can lift paint unfortunately. keep up the great work and model on
Thank you, Your tips are so helpful, so keep them coming 😁. I think I went a bit over the top with the masking tape. It worked, but I should have done it free hand, im going to give it a bash on a future build. Are you building anything at the moment?
@@JoeUnpluggedMMM It's just experience you're acquiring, main thing is to enjoy and have fun doing the hobby, I don't use an airbrush so I can't say about that, I use spray cans on my builds. Being autistic I have a weird way of building, a kind of rota, so currently I have about 25 models on the go, it works for me :) and never lost my mojo for it since my dad got me into building models as a young kid, being a motorsport nut I only build race cars and bikes now, but initially did aircraft as my dad is ex RAF. In regards to masking tape, go for the Tamiya stuff, normal every day masking tape is too strong and can remove paint, Tamiya also do tape that you can do curves with as well, have fun and model on
Great idea to redo and compare an old build, I like the idea you have for spraying, raising the sprue trees of the wood, I use the Helping hands which are very nice. I've never owned or used an airbrush but it seems you're doing really well with it. I like to build as much as i can before paint, the parts that are the same colour etc, that way things like gaps can be seen better and corrected before paint, plus glue ruins the paint work, look forward to the next video, and happy new year and happy modelling
Thank you. I've still got a lot to learn with the airbrush, but if I get a bit better each model. Myabe oil based paints would give a better finish, but my asthma can't handle them. I use non-toxic acrylic paints. I'm trying to plan my approach a bit better, like building before painting and stuff, but I often get carried away, and before I know it, the plan has gone out of the window😁 Part 2 will be out tomorrow, it properly tested me.
@@JoeUnpluggedMMM I use Tamiya paints mainly, like you I have asthma, had it since childhood and stopped breathing many times as a kid so I know only too well. You're definately getting better, it's just experience, I find it best to build as much as you can before painting, and also seperate as much as possiblt the parts from the sprue trees to avoid the touching up afterwards of the attachment points, you'll get there and find your way of doing things, main thing is to enjoy it, model on
Very nice b. Cnt wait for the part 2
Great vid...amazing views with the drone...beautuful scenes and wildlife..merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you for your kind words. I love it out there, so beautiful and empty. Merry Christmas 🎅
I've never heard fantantic so many times in one video😅
Just bought a Crimpit. The air fryer version looks the best.
Looks good but were any tanks given that style of camo ? . I thought they decided to do them all green and the amount of countryside that they got blathered with did the rest. Making up old kits is challenging and satisfying.
Thanks, I couldn't tell you when it comes to the camo, I know little to nothing about WW1 stuff. I just roughly copied the box. I enjoyed putting it together. I was expecting it to be more tricky being so old, but apart from the decal, it was pretty much like new. Thanks for watching.
That came out really well, the missing part you found i think is the exhaust, but well done in finding it, the camouflage was nicely done as well, looks the part, model on
Thank you, it was the exhaust, I was lucky I nearly binned it 😁 I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The airbrush really threw me off, I think I've got it sorted for the next one.😁
Looks great painted up. The display cabinet is spot on.
Thank you. Yeah, I struck lucky with the cabinet, thanks to my mate Pete. Its perfect displaying models of all sizes,I've just got to fill it now 😁
I love the way that this is obviously not been rehearsed and it it right up my street. Subbed and liked.
I prefer the heinz beans 50p ones ..... I think that they taste better and are more sweeter than the cheap ones or the heinz ones ??
Nicely done, and well done keeping things moveable, the tracks might give you some grief as Airfix tracks are a tad notorious, things like staples are mentioned in chats I've seen to keep them together :), have fun and model on
Thanks, it's not a bad kit this one. I'm hoping the tracks are still ok, I haven't checked them properly yet, but they looked and felt OK when I opened it up. Part 3 in a couple of days and this is definitely not going to plan 😁
Enjoyed the build and commentary 👌🏻 I wish I had enough patience and skill to make vids
Thank you rally pleased you enjoyed my video. I encourage anyone to give making a video a go. Just press the record button and learn as you go. Dont get too hung up on getting it perfect. I just learn as I go. I make lots of mistakes. I'm really pleased to hear you enjoyed the commentary. i struggle to talk to cameras, so im trying to do it more because Im convinced it's a practice thing. Part 3 is coming in a couple of days, and that didn't go all to plan 😁
when I was a kid saveloys from the chippy were always kept lose in the heated cabinet along with everything else. The skin was crispy and delious nowadays they are nearlt always kept in water and are limp and just warm at best. I wish I knew how to buy a savaloy and make the skin crispy. I really do miss that
Haha you do pick em :) I was ten when that came out, yes I'm old. I vote for the camouflage scheme but you pick what appelas to you. The primer seemed to stick ok, being old Airfix they can have release agent on the plastic. The tracks seem to be ok at least. The instructions you found on Scalemates is from when Airfix used to tell you what part to glue to what in order, the parts sometimes where marked in number order as well, as in glue part one to two, the instructions also told you what the parts represented, it was a good way of learning, which sadly is not done nowadays. Growing up with a severe illness and dad giving me models to build I learnt a lot from Airfix. Enjoy and model on.
😁 yeah, I couldn't let this one pass me by. It might be the only chance I get to build one. This model feels a lot better than its modern equivalents. The plastic feels really sturdy. I'm going to try and find some other finished ones online to check how they painted theirs. The camo on the packet looks a bit cartoon like, but that could be just its age, and the bluey silver might look a bit plain. I can't make my mind up 😁. Either way, I will give it a good go. Thanks for all your comments and advice over the last few weeks it's great and really helpful 😁
A quick rinse in isopropyl alcohol should clear any residue on the plastic.
Excellent. Love it and love your enthusiasm.
Thank you 😁
Wow nice b..ive been waiting for that
Fantastic video b.hopefully one day b.i could watch it with you
I think the name change will work better, all the best with growing the channel, main thing with modelling is getting enjoyment from doing them, enjoy what you’re doing and the audience will enjoy with you, model on
Great work well done, turned out really good
I expect stage two is to get an actual jet. Come on Joe we can do it
You've seen me drive 🚗 would you lend me a Jet 🤣
@joecooksnstuff An RC jet. Lol
Looks delicious, love your accent 😋
Thank you 😁
