6:53 The memory config was succesfull. If you enable the relocation and restart than you must make a (additonal) save with F4 with the new dected memory size and restart again, than the new config should be accepted. For this last "system config invalid" it feels like the FDD / Diskdrive(s) / FDD Controller initialiation - seeking fails. May you test with disabled FDD Bios config and test again. Good luck and thanks for the content.
Awesome, thank you!!
Привет из россии! Кстати, для 2-х процессорных систем лучше устанавливать Windows 2003.
Thank you for the tip!
@@urzamaster Всегда пожалуйста!
My grandma had this computer and gave it to me, I gave it a new motherboard and a ryzen 3 3200g, it runs great, although I hope to replace the power supply as it’s still the original from 2007
@@maxwagner1341 probably worth an upgrade, give it some spare wattage
@@urzamaster actually I was quite surprised a 300watt when I first opened it up
@maxwagner1341 wow, that's surprising, wouldn't have to give it much more from there
One old ass monitor
@@shadowrxmpxge8905 one of many LOL
My first computer was that exact computer it was a dell inspron 530
@@Kittywip21Gaming thats awesome! It's a neat little machine!
That's so cool man! Keep it up!
More to come!
Amazing!!
@@marcoguilherme2477 it was exhilarating to see this beast fire up. I have no idea what else I can even do with it, but it's awesome!
I use the 5251 as my daily driver. Please bring more videos of this magnificent keyboard!
I'm planning on figuring out how to make a conversion to USB for it or something. There will be more 5251!
love old pcs, goes to show u how long they last compared to todays pcs, i bought an old ibm ps/2, use to be used in buzzys recording studio, has the soundmaster cards in it, psu is dead ofc XD, but the drive still works today for old as it is, 9 bad clusters all it has, not bad for its age. i was able to power it on, used psu from my 486 to copy hdd contents. floppys ofc since its a esdi drive
@@DeathRyder33 awesome!
@@urzamaster have a ? for ya, did you run into the packard bell soldered ram yet? they actually soldered those simms in b4 XD
The reason why it's not starting is due to bad capacitors on the motherboard/analog board/power supply I hope that the clock battery didn't blow up inside since on some Macs like these they like to blow up and destroy the motherboard alongside with the leaky capacitors
@RetroTechTom this one is due for a revisit and a clean to see if it can be fired up with some fresh caps
Them Athlon XPs were a damn good processor for the time. Runs better on win 2k or XP. Thanks for the video
@@baladi921 I know I loved mine!

@@daraphairphire it's a big ass fan LOL
Bro 😂
ABIT mobo, A bit. Lol
USB didn't come out until 1996 and really wasn't common until about the year 2000, so I don't think this PC is as old as you thought.
@@acertainshape interesting. I always forget how "new" things are because stuff changed so much so fast!
People are scared to just format. There are people on the internet that go to electronic recycling places, then use recovery software to see the data.
It's very true. There's a lot of disreputable people out there, unfortunately.
You need the manual to play. It has the keys and the star chart.
I'll have to scoop up a PDF. My cohort over @Pending Rebrand loved this game!
Judgment Rites is also incredible. Fav for life.
Ooh. I'll have to dig that up!
I noticed in some of your PB Legend videos that your battery is intact. That's genuinely pretty awesome, but you should still remove it anyway. There's an external battery header on these boards, so keeping RTC intact shouldn't be an issue, but at this point most of these machines have succumbed to RTC battery damage. My own PB430 (later 3x3 model - yours looks like a PB400 4x4?) had its battery leak pretty badly, which basically ruined the logic board (short of basically reconstructing a pretty large chunk of the RTC and memory controller circuits), and there's maybe one or two people who've successfully managed to repair any of these. I get wanting to keep it original, but that battery is not long for this world even if you got lucky. (ETA: sourcing a logic board that isn't similarly battery-bombed, no matter which generation of 486 Packard Bell, is nearly impossible unless you switch to a Pentium board. I've tried, believe me. Your machine uses a 4x4 riser, so at least getting a PISA riser for a Pentium swap isn't nearly as painful as my 3x3 was, but you have a chance to keep it with the original board.)
Great minds think alike. I've got a few other logic boards with dead, leaky batteries and I'm going to be attempting repairs, but I absolutely will be replacing this one. I'm going to get a similar replacement, I've seen some options online that seem pretty reasonable. There are also some interesting Lithium Ion packs you can get these days. Great tip though and 100% almost impossible to save these after a battery fails.
I LOVE this game and the graphics were fantastic for the time....even now I think it looks great!
Still holds up!
Great video, but what's up with the green fingernails?
Haha this has been such a popular comment topic. My wife and I had our anniversary a while back and got manicures as something fun to do together we hadn't done before. Tbh they're coming off but I'm too lazy to buy acetone to clean em off. Also it helps me remember where my fingers are
@urzamaster well if it made the wife happy it was well worth it.
Nice, fellow small tech youtuber here. Liked this video, reminded me of back int he day when i first started messing with computer, so pretty nosta;gic for me lol.
Thanks for watching! Always good to meet a fellow tech out here!
Subscribed when I saw Packard bell legend. THEN What's the deal with the fingernail. Unsubscribe. I looked back at your other videos you didn't have the drag look. So you are you drag now?
I am not a drag performer. My wife and I got our nails done for our wedding anniversary for fun, no other reason. Your choice to subscribe or not, my choice to do whatever with my nails, but plenty of computer content, so do what you need to do, I guess
@@urzamaster ok it seriously Disturbed me. I can see it Disturbed others as well. I guess you just got to know you're who your audience is. Thank you for letting me know you're not a drag performer. Skip this video but I will resubscribe. Hope you revisit Packard bells have so many nostalgic memorie.
WHY THE GAY NAILS ??
ya i actually only saw that it was the same as my first comp... the nails scare me tho...
Lol why not? Helps me remember where my fingers are
Why make life harder, set that gun the Celcius. Ikik, im an American too it feels wrong, but then it's a simple meter of 0-100 with 0 being good and 100 being FUCKED. it makes comparison more straight forward, and you won't need to do any conversions when talking to the rest of the world since Celsius is a the standard for PCs.
Hahaha idk man I just love Fahrenheit lol
My nostalgia PC. I learned touch typing on one in high school. 💻
That's awesome! I learned on an Apple II and I've been looking for one ever since lol
Ah, the good ol' days of PC's!! <3
Keep the good content coming. I have missed your videos.
Thank you! I've been super busy over at Pending Rebrand here on RUclips but I still have plenty of gas for this channel too!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
The frustration is real
I have a similar Compaq Presario (SR1110NX). It even has the 3.5" floppy drive. However, mine has a 325 Intel Celeron D Processor (not sure of the GHz), 256 MB ram and a 40 GB hard drive. When I was trying to do a system restore on it, I discovered *after* the OS was removed that the recovery discs no longer worked (they had been made when the computer was new). Do you think that recovery discs made from *your* computer would work on mine? Or do you have any advice on how to find recovery discs that would work (eBay? trustworthy sites?)
I'm still working on this machine, and I have not yet found a solution. If you find one, let me know!
These things were mandatory for older tvs with antennas after the FCC mandated DTV conversion
Yes! I really need one but can't ever find one that works. The hunt continues+
I’m having the same problem with my model 60, same errors
It's a labor of love. Hopefully we both find the solutions!
I have one of those. Surprisingly decent for government contract funded cannon fodder!
Yes, not awful!
Can this be upgraded and used as gaming pic in 20024
Where there is a will, there is a way!
This is my old pc, I am now planning using the case for a modern pc to use it as my emergency computer. I have just took it out of the coset to check it and seach on youtube if anybody is modding the case. So nice to see this video
There's always a great mod out there just waiting to happen!!
Hey brother. Does yours come with a digital cpu temp display? Mine did, and unfortunately it is not showing the digital temp. Would you happen to know how to fix?
im having same issue, runs fine but no display of lcd except on startup
Mine does not have the display! Luckily it cools so well I've never had any need for it!
How are the temps so far?
You have to download the hardware for it it works
There is a connector labeled P6. What would that go to?
I'd have to dig the machine out, but often the molex plugs just had connector labels for no reason.
What is this used for?
For now, collecting dust. I'm hoping to maybe modify it for a retro gaming rig or some kind of emulation. We will see.
I have the 386 version motherboard, I like a lot this machine 😍🥰 ruclips.net/video/za2-L4vTlPg/видео.html
what was it supposed to do? It looks like it will print either of 2 characters. Wouldn't all the upper ascii codes be mapped to various configurations of 6 rectangles?
Great question. This line on the C64 or VIC20 (or most Commodore computers) will generate a random line array. Was just hoping it would work the same here, but alas...
Ah, same as hardware from my overstock pile
Seemed like the motherboard had shorted out causing power to be present at the PCIE slot after shut down. BTW, my first computer was an HP Pavilion m8200n with an AMD Athlon 6000+ Dual Core. Very similar to what you have. Used it for about 3 years then put it away. Afterwards I sold it about a couple of years ago with the HP 19" monitor and color printer that it came with for $100 bucks.
Whats the specs for this build?
I'll have a short coming with all that info soon!
Omg this was my first computer
I love this little thing! Great PC!

wow Edit - i hope ur feeling better
Yeah, I have to say, after all my tinkering I'm really bummed that the Ryzen 5 5600X wasn't working with this board. I guess it's back to the dumpster to find a Ryzen 5 board
I Wish EMachines Were Still Around
They were decent budget rigs! They got a bad rep.
